Hello. Another busy day. I’m actually looking forward to having a quiet day…maybe Tuesday? Even just a quiet morning would suffice.
up early had a long walk with doggy. Then in to work for an hour or so. This would usually be a big worky day but I’d done Thursday and Friday as a favour so had my usual work day off but had went in to do catering.Drove down to other side of town to Lidl. Had a £5 off voucher.Home and doggy and I went out in the car to big park and had a walk. Trees just starting to change.
Then DD2 called and asked if we could watch her friends pup. A bit of a sigh and a you’ll have to watch him I’ve got loads to do. So he came and of course he’s lovely but needs to be watched constantly.
Then my nephew and partner and great nephew ( last seen 2 years ago) came to visit. Had a lovely dinner. Went to the playground in our estate. Read a few stories. Gave him a few books to take away. Gave nephew ( who is one of my favourite people) OH kilt and associated things . Got a big hug in return. Then puppy went and then they did. Sigh. Peace and quiet. Perfect.
quick doggy walk and then bedtime for me!10 -

Was deeply asleep but have just been woken up as smaller son decided he wanted his 27th meal of the day. He has gone back to bed in a huff as there isn't much basil...
Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK and I had a bonfire on the allotment and cut back some more nettles and thistles in the hen pen.
3) House reasonably tidy.
4) Watched all episodes of Clarkson's Farm.
5) Made lemon pasta for tea, from the Waitrose magazine.
6) Bigger son is having a good time camping outside York.8 -
Intriguing about the basil Frith!
Hope you are ok Ampersand?
For yesterday,
Busy in the garden all morning, cutting back honeysuckle and labouring for Capt S as he did more of the hedge.
Stopped for an hour or so to enjoy roast dinner and downloaded the Archers omnibus, poor Rory 😕
Back out to finish and tidy up then small dog looking hopeful so walk around the fields.
Just in time as the Combine Harvester turned up, run rabbit run!
They started on the field next to our cottage at 8.50pm so quick shutting of windows as the dust kicked up is like a fog, they finally finished at 11 so quick work made of large field, harvest done for another year and the seasons march on.9 -

Weekend
1 Travelled to the inlaws a long journey but always nice to catch up.
2 A lovely fish and chip tea I popped out to get which also had me trying to find a place to stop and pick plums that were falling but there was no way to stop, hence all the fruit there I guess.
3 I drove back, I was the only car on the motorway and a “landrover” went to overtake then slowed down so it was beside me I’m busy ignoring him, he then cuts me up and slams on his brakes, I would once have said sod it and lost him, but I’ve mellowed there are too many irriots to worry about.
4 Packaged up a sale skirt to return it for a refund.
5 I food planned for the week.
For today
1 Another 10 mins in the sun, this time I was writing and inspired.
2 Washing roulette, one load in from the line, one line back out.
3 I cooked up some sugar free scones and cakes as the Sunday roast is now the Tuesday roast as it was still part frozen, and I can’t leave it out in this strange weather. Still a cuppa and cake has been lovely, thou I did put some icing on top so not actually sugar free.
4 Took dh over to hospital, his apt went really well, as he has been relaxing off the sling arm when sitting it’s also helped with some movement, another 6 weeks now allowed to move, but not use the arm, no lifting, no stretching. The consultant did say it was one of the worst injuries he's seen for a while. ouchy.
5 I popped to B&M for soups, pet treats and cleaning bits and bobs, then stopped in for the first time in a long time to Lidl on the way back, it was a quiet spot and no music, it was honestly lovely to shop there and nice to choose and change our own bits and bobs.

Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK and I cut more nettles and thistles down and raked up.
3) Started to plan our next mini break properly. It will be a Man Utd game plus Christmas market and hotel stay.
4) Took smaller son to Tesco.
5) Happened to turn radio 4 on whilst washing up and someone I know was being interviewed by Ian Hislop!
