1. Work was reasonable. Managed to get things done.
2. Messaging a friend who is a work colleague throughout the day.
3. Arrived home to find 4 bottles of wine and some pates de fruit on my doorstep. A thank you for looking after cats. It was much appreciated..
4. Washing had dried on the line and was home before it for set again in the drizzle we had.
5. Lit my candle as it felt like winter.

Great that you could have a meet up with — Ampersand.
For yesterday,
Quiet day pottering at home as didn’t feel 100%.
Tidied up my modest shoe store and two pairs that have hardly been worn put to one side for donation, Imelda I ain’t ☺️
Cleared the small mending pile, a button replaced and a seam tidied, took 10 minutes but satisfying.
A mug of bovril as weather turned chilly & cold.
Yes, candle lit too VL.9 -

Ampersand, you have access to a whole host of emojis there 😊, it was really lovely to meet up, glad you are okay
1 Various wash loads achieved, a lot of cleaning and tidying, fresh bedding etc, a sort of pleasure when it’s done, it just feels a bit repetitive at the mo.
2 A full roast with all the trimmings, was rather delicious, I used stuffing and gravey left over from Christmas from the freezer cleardown, I know a bit old but tasty, and the house smelled lovely while it was cooking with garden herbs thyme, oregano and marjoram.
3 Proper butter on fresh crusty bread – bliss.
4 Mowed both lawns and strimmed, and sorted out the corner where all of the leaves and debris gets blown, and weeded the drive
5 Face pack, hair pack, feeling presentable.

HappyCas glad your big wait is over and onwards and upwards x
Busy day. Again. However my bed is remade and my bathroom is clean and my floor is hoovered.Painting downstairs loo with the most rubbish of paints! Grrr! Going to need another coat (4) but that’s a tomorrow job.Chatted to a nice person today who was passing by with a nice lab pup.Had to go back into town for DD2 to pick up prescriptions. Nipped back into same charity shop as yesterday and bought two glass bottles ( same company as clay bottle yesterday) William Hodgson of Blackburn.Had a chap round to price up the flooring of my front porch and moving of a light fitting. Await his quote.Went a nice doggy walk to big park this evening.10 -
HappyCas - glad the op is over. What a long one!
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK.
3) Went round the charity shops locally and got bigger son an acceptable T shirt, from Brakeburn.
4) Popped to Sainburys.
5) Went with my brother to a survey and had a walk while he was working. A grumpy man drove to where we were sitting with all the gear around us and said we were in the way and he wanted to reverse up his drive (we weren't) so we moved our chairs and equipment about 20cm. He crunched his car into reverse and shot it straight back into his gate post. He shot forward and I could see (even in the dark) that his line was terrible - reversed it back hard into the gatepost again! The other survey man walked over (the crunching noises were quite loud) and said he had chatted with the man's wife earlier and she had said he would be "sozzled" by the time he came back from his golf club dinner. Serves him right it that is his behaviour. I bet those dents will take some dealing with.10 -
Wow vjsmum which steam train line? (and I remember having a go on a Wurlitzer when I was a child)
1) lovely sunny day - got my washing dry
2) and took a 2 hour lunch break yay walked up to mum’s and picked her runner beans (as instructed)
3) for tea made kedgeree but also had runner beans and courgette in
4) pub at 9 insisted mine was first round dr m arrived late (as usual) and insisted on buying him a drink too which made me much more relaxed the rest of the evening (hate it when the men don’t let me buy)
5) suggested we move tables after the footie cos another 2 friends due - dr m came sat-next to me but perhaps he just prefers the couch to the chair lol. Anyway we had a good evening and we’re booked for the Leicester’s game Monday yay. And now it a very late on a school night. Oops.

That’s such good news HappyCas.
Crikey on the sozzled driver, good job it was just a gate post!
For yesterday,
Equine girlie had the farrier, she has great feet and is barefoot with no shoes so just a trim & file, more like a pedicure really ☺️My pal’s horse is confined to barracks on box rest so I grazed him in hand on the grass by the barn for an hour, an ex-racer and a lovely chap he seemed happy to have a change of scene.
The weather brightened up in the afternoon so washing on the line and time spent in the garden.
Stopped at 4pm for a cuppa and a toasted tea cake.
A hotel finally booked for DSS’s belated graduation next month, first time away in nearly two years!9
