VJsmum - hope the arm settles very soon,
Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK.
3) Tasty food (not much else to do except cook!) Part baked rolls for lunch then a big stir fry for tea.
4) Bigger son got better as the day went on. He still feels a bit under the weather but just this minute said he could taste his honey and lemon drink. He is young and healthy and had had one vaccination so I can see how other people could be really ill with coronavirus. Smaller son has a sore throat but thinks this might be because he is thinking about it!
5) Good to get in bed because we have just had the most torrential rain with thunder and lightning. Quite oppressive before that.
6) Watched Casualty.9 -
1) it being Saturday a lovely bubble bath and a read of my book
2) walked up to mum’s with dd2 came homemade with sweet peas and runner beans from her garden, dd2 the car
3) too wet to garden so 90 minutes pootling on the piano - Beethoven, Scarlatti, Arne, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Schumann and clementi - total bliss
4) gbf came round for early supper - quiche and rainbow salad - the tomatoes and borage from my garden, the green beans from mum’s
5) then we went to watch hm she pinafore in the botanics - very wet but was very suitably dressed - rain stopped half way through. Lots of friends there so lots of chatting- sadly doesn’t want to play ball with loading the picture so imagine me in a long raincoat, wellies and cap. It was very good then home for scones and tea while watching the end of the men’s The hundred final

Just popping in to say that after a horrendous 3-4 months my father has finally been diagnosed. Bone cancer.
Clearly not a pleasure but a relief. The moment the diagnosis came through he started meds and within hours the pain and agony he had been in disappeared/lessened.
Am home for a few days but will be going back to make sure all care/medical plans are in place.
I hope you are all well. Sorry for not keeping up........just really tired.
love

So pleased to hear that you finally have a proper diagnosis Bala, hopefully the rights meds will continue to offer your Dad some decent relief.
For yesterday,
Another rubbish nights sleep so up with a cup of tea, having early morning cuddles with small dog when found what thought was a tick, held off removing it and glad I did as emergency vet thought something else, sample taken and will hear in a few days. She seems bright enough.
Off to see my other girlie and also grazed the patient in hand for a while, he’s slowly improving and was much more energetic.
Stopped at farm stall for some potatoes on way home and got chatting with the owner, she has three beautiful chocolate labs ( Mhags ☺️ ) and a gorgeous GSD, dog envy!
Long nap in the afternoon and woke up to the news that Utd had won 3 nil.
Pork and stilton snorkers for tea.
Three deer in the field next to the cottage, looked like a female with two juveniles, much easier to see now that the crop has been cut.

Pleasures for yesterday
1. an excuse to do little as it rained all day, i read my new book (the second instalment of His Dark Materials)
2. also watched the first few epoiodes of "The people vs OJ Simpson")
3. cleaned the kitchen
4. made Cake of the week and marmalade
5. Ventured into my sourdough starter which has been abandoned for a while. O thought it was quite dead, but i seem to have resurrected it!
Have a lovely day allI wanna be in the room where it happens10 -
Having a diagnosis is at least something, Bala, even if it is not good. Important thing now is to keep Dad comfortable so he can enjoy what time he has left.
Hooe little dog is ok, Lainey. The photo of the field reminds me of Fen country, my place of origin. Don't miss it though, I am happy here.
Pleasures....
Changing weather, no time to get bored with it.
The honey scent from the huge buddleia bush in the park, surrounded by bees and butterflies when the sun shines.
Gave my dog a shower yesterday because it was a while since she had a wash (months) and she was starting to smell a bit funky. Lavender scented dog shampoo was deployed. She is now silky and shiny.
Son and girlfriend went to a charity ball last night. Pleasure was when he tried on his hired tuxedo the other day and sent me a photo. What a fine-looking young man he is, and he scrubs up so well.
A few days of chilling out after a couple of busy night shifts. Back on days tomorrow.
Getting my my hair cut and coloured, so tidy at the moment. Won't last long, it grows so quickly.
Treated myself to breakfast out at the garden centre coffee shop in the next village. Never been there before, but will certainly return.
Looking forward to a special online workshop this afternoon, singing with sign language. It will be a hoot. One life - your life - live it!12 -
Thanks Nargleblast, we are on the cusp of the Fens where the countryside is a tad more rolling but we still get the wonderful big skies.12
