annual review with the dean tomorrow - needed to get my form finished phew just done and sent!
1) slept very well and had toast and marmite for breakfast
2) gbf arrived mid morning to see dd2. afterwards he gave me a lift to ninewells as this afternoon in the deanery
3) had a bit of a cry on the way (I blame the menopause!) so we stopped off at the botanics for restorative cuppa and saw the agave plant in flower
4) lovely to be back in the office, and dd2 had given me a very nice piece of aero cake to have after my lunch
5) football in the pub with Dr M - sadly Leicester lost, but we had a nice quiet evening and a lovely walk home - clearer sky so could see Jupiter, Saturn and the almost full moon (too cloudy last night)

1. Lights off in the corridor at work. They give me a headache but are always turned on . I was first in and didn't turn them on and nobody else did. My head was much better when I left.
2. Chat with a friend at work.
3. Started packing for my holiday. We are meant to be going to France on Friday. I'm hoping that nothing is going to happen to stop us going.
4. A glass of wine with pizza for tea.
5. Watched Only Connect. I seem to be answering more questions this series.11 -
Hope all goes well today DD.
For yesterday,
Into horsey town for a shop and dropped a bag of clothes off for rehoming.
At the stables and pony was in a funny mood so a soothing groom followed by a little gentle long-reining, she was much happier at the end so no idea, guess we all get days like that.
Made a loaf and while it was on its second prove popped a tray of spiced nuts in the warming up oven to roast, good for the snack jar.
Making the most of the lovely afternoon and went for a walk with my beloveds, gorgeous mellow sunshine of late summer.
Mini roast dinner after we missed it yesterday.

1) Annual review with the Dean went well - he made lots of notes which I hope is a good sign! He said my 2nd half of the form was a bit vague - i said yes i wrote that after i got back from watching Leicester lose (he's a man utd fan so i knew he'd sympathise with my priorities🤣)
2) no meetings from 10:30 till 1 so was able to walk dd2 down town for her 2nd jab - I sat in the cafe nearby and reviewed some phd, then she joined me for a cuppa and croissant - all good and we had a lovely walk back home by the river. soooo hot and sunny
3) spent the afternoon at the botanics reading the phd - bliss and no internet so not interrupted by emails / teams calls
4) then went to mum's - she's back from a lovely holiday with friends in London then Cambridge and so happy to be travelling again
5) after supper did some shrub pruning to fill my brown bin for tomorrow.

Recent pleasures:
survived a gruelling visit to the dentist (I’m having periodontal treatment and also had a splint on a loose tooth, pleasure is no more till next week when I have the first of two visits for a crown ☹️
Felt a bit rung out so lazy weekend but had flowers and chocolate 🍫 on Sunday (it was the 19th anniversary of our first date) and takeaway kebabs for dinner.
Nice walk round the big lake with friend on Monday and a visit to the bittern hide (no bitterns as they’re very elusive and it’s the wrong time of the year) but we did see a flock of barnacle geese and a shoveller duck 🦆
Today after shopping and picking up a replacement blind, I went to see my sis in law with flowers 💐 and presents 🎁 for her birthday later in the week and we went out for lunch to a Turkish restaurant where we could sit outside in the relative warmth.
Home and no dinner needed for me so just a pizza in the oven for OH.
Full half hour in the hot tub listening to my music 🎧 this evening, so relaxing.
night all 💤

Hi Bala. Thank you for thinking of me.
Sorry! I have been reading along but too busy worrying about DGD to get on with posting regularly. Her surgery went well but now she keeps spiking a temp and seemingly endless blood tests are not saying why.
I'm sorry to hear the news about your dad, but glad that you finally have a diagnosis, even if not a welcome one.
Hopefully normal service will be resumed shortly.
Meanwhile sleep well everyone11 -
Hope your DGD gets better very soon, Happycas.
Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep. Had a lovely dream that bigger son and I were making a very extravagant tray bake and we drove to a supermarket with the saucepan of mix (and a spoon!) We bought some seasalt fudge and added that to the saucepan. Then I woke up!
2) Hens OK.
3) Changed one bed and had a good tidy up downstairs.
4) Smaller son made the tea then I made a pineapple upside down cake.
5) Bigger son has been home 6 days but smaller son and I show no coronavirus signs yet...
6) Watched the Last Leg at the Paralympics and Holby City.11
