2) one interviewee cancelled so unexpected 30 mins off in middle of afternoon - took dogs and self for much needed walk
3) after last meeting did some gardening to get some fresh air and fill brown bin for tomorrow then make stew for supper
4) restarted work at 5 but then computer rebooted at 7:30 with no warning at all (lucky it didn't happen while i was chairing interviews!) - i think it was trying to tell me to stop and go for a run so i did
5) home, shower, and supper in front of end of Hundred cricket - have never watched before (Dr M recommended it on Saturday) jeez very exciting.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to see a former colleague and ended up staying for 3 hours!
3) Took bigger son and his car to the car wash. He is retaking his driving test tomorrow and is incredibly nervous. He had been round to his father's and my former mother in law has just been diagnosed with dementia, which was a blow. (She is 86).
4) Did more polyfilling work. I'm sure I can stop now and it'll look ok once painted. It's not as though anything is straight and true or flat anyway.
5) Hens OK.
6) Bigger son had his first professional driving lesson of 2021 to get ready for his test tomorrow. £40! He is glad he went and got the proper advice.
7) Drove bigger son back to work and popped into Sainsburys on my way home.
8) I've been invited to my brother's at midnight (he's at work at the moment) to watch the meteorites from comfier deck chairs.
9) One for Ampersand - saw a very jolly Tom Watson on my way back from bigger son’s.11 -
Great news SSue
1 I sunbathed a tiny bit.
2 Friends called a definite pleasure always happier to hear from them.
3 That clean bedding feeling for later.
4 Still on the food plan but I won’t deny today was stir fry and it wasn’t great, thinking of veering slightly.
5 A skirt I’ve had my eye on has finally come up on the half price sale as one of the last things to go, I managed to snaffle one.

Suffolksue excellent news. She has done so well in a very difficult time for her.
1. Work was ok. Reasonable people in and no toxic ones - makes a difference.
2. Made a new recipe for tea - only ok but was different at least.
3. Washing mainly dried on line. I put it out after work.
4. Sitting in the garden with a book.
5. Speaking with a friend.10 -
Good morning. I’m being a very shallow dog walker and waiting till the rain stops. I’m being a very shallow dog walker who just got her hair done yesterday and it’s still sitting nice! Normally I would not bother!Yesterday was a busy day.Washing caught up with thankfully! Heavy rain for a few days running and working does not help with laundry piles! But we had a nice day so out it went and it all came in dry.Swept up in garden. Deadheaded and weeded.Returned some clothes to a shop which is as far away at the other end of town as can be so that’s a bit of a pain but it’s done.Bought a Roman blind. Put it up in a makeshift fashion late last night. My old wooden slat blinds that have been here for 15 years snapped internally about a month ago so I could open/close slats ( at least) but not lift them open . I like lots of light coming in and my windows open. I must get a drill ( and learn how to use it) anyway the blind looks nice.Emptied dresser cupboard and have been brave and had a cull of some of my collection of jugs / china. Everything was bought in a charity shop at some point, trying to be unsentimental about a jug! But much awh I got that in such and such in Australia. However less cluttered and still have more than enough jugs should the occasion arise!Hairdresser for ever and ever in the afternoon ( 2.5 hours) but a nice afternoon of chatter and laughter and would I come in for a training wash and blow dry in a few weeks…absolutely! And grey hair? What grey hair! And hello fringe ( until I get fed up and grow it out again!)
Popped into mums briefly. Sighed at mess ( just tidied on Friday) and will be back in today. Then popped over to friends.Came home and started faffing about putting up blind. And moving stuff around. So it’s now Wednesday and much to be done! I’ve a big print to try and wrestle into a big picture frame, grass to hopefully get cut if it doesn’t rain too heavily. A dog to walk. Bathrooms to clean. A mothers to sort out. And all the other things in between…day off ? Pffft!Have a lovely day!Sue that’s great news about your GD, you can be proud enough for them all! Much love and continued strength sent to you xx11 -
That’s smashing news SSue, many congrats to your DGD.
Capt S was sceptical to say the least but we too are now enjoying the hundred cricket very much DD and he is off to the eliminator match next Friday.
For yesterday,
Woken up with a cuppa at 7.30, late for me.
Road trip across the Brecks to a localish company that make riding boots as I’d overestimated the size of my calves when online ordering, lovely lady and pleasure was I got my preferred colour in the new boots.
It was lovely day and I took the scenic route enjoying the East Anglian countryside, couldn’t remember the last time that I drove for so long.Warm afternoon so spent in garden, pottering and tidying.
A funny few minutes just before bedtime as I tried to catch and release a butterfly that had got into our bedroom, beloved really doesn’t like flying, flapping insects so it was up to me, I don’t mind as he does the same for me when faced with a big Boris spider.9 -
Evening all - a quick drop in from my hollibobs. it's wet wednesday, always seems to rain on wednesdays when i'm on my hols
pleasures for the last few days
1. our friends and my OH who are carrying all my stuff to make it easier for me to walk
2. getting to a section of coast path without dramatic cliffs to walk up
3. nice food
4. nice wildlife and flowers
5. making good in roads into my marking so i have less to go back to
have a lovely evening all

Nice tea with mince round, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob and broccoli.

Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Cleaned the downstairs, particularly of dust left from my filling and sanding of walls.
3) Hens OK.
4) Bigger son had his driving test in sunny Ludlow. There was a sticky moment when he was doing his car park manoeuvre and the tester said, "you can go right or left into a parking space" and bigger son merrily drove to the end of the row, turned left and drove forward into a space! The tester said, "that's NOT the point of the exercise" ! He passed with 2 minors.
5) We spent the afternoon desperately trying to get him insurance for under £1000... When that was finally sorted he was able to drive back to work then take his girlfriend to McDonalds!
6) Roast chicken etc for tea.
7) Watched another episode of Ghosts.
8) Had an email about being a museum accreditation mentor so hopefully that'll speed up a bit.
9) Phoned my school friend.9 -
know what you mean laineyt very jealo he's going to a match - if ever they make it north of the border perhaps i can persuade dr m 🤣
1) after a dreadful sleep was up and ready for the day - had treated myself to finest tesco muesli and very nice
2) chaired the student symposium - bit of a struggle technology-wise but we got there in the end - always great to hear students present
3) last meeting finished at 4 so made a cuppa and walked the dogs. found myself at mum's, we chatted, we had chilli, i introduced her to The 100
4) then home oops cold tea lol and of course hadn't gone back to emails as intended but felt better for it
5) then pub in this strange new world - no sign of mr g (unexpected) or dr m (expected) so felt a bit lost. then barmaid spotted me, showed me the table mr g had booked in the front parlour (seating only there and not at all full hooray), got the chelsea match on and chatted to the lads at the next table who were from bedford!, mr g arrived late, dr m very late (work call had gone on rather) then 3 other friends by which time we had 2 tables then another friend of theirs. Great game, great chat. it's another friend's birthday on saturday and dr m said he'd see me there 9:30 after pointing out jupiter and saturn and general chat. he also laughed when mr g said what women do with toilet paper and lipstick, saying he hoped i was paying attention. i guess there are men and women and then there's dd... that said, life is good - very pleased that when they were deciding whether to do next tues or wed, when i said i couldn't do tues but not to let that influence their decision it did and wed it is
oh lore i have an important work meeting in 8 hours. best get some shut-eyeMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
