1. A friend had an appointment at the breast clinic as she had found a lump. She was given the all clear which is great news.
2. Chat with colleague after work and she feels much the same as me about the way things are.
3. DH given some runner beans which are tasty.
4. I let the new hens mix with my old hens. A bit of pecking but first meeting done.
5. Booked a restaurant for next weekend. It feels good to look forward and make plans.10 -
Hope all the sad and poorlies are doing a little better 😊
Recent pleasures:
Enjoying the new partly done bathroom (now a shower room) although keeping all the glass looking good on the huge shower is already a pain, any tips?
Chinese, wine and a lot of chat at mine with my 2 oldest friends on Tuesday 😊
Leftover Chinese for dinner last night.Visit to nearby Capel Manor gardens with sister and great niece yesterday.
Beautiful gardens with a little zoo, fairy forest, maze and alpacas 🦙. Got caught in several showers but ran to the car during the downpour at the end of our visit.
Have a great Thursday 😘12 -
Aw, lovely picture DD.
For yesterday,
A toasted bacon buttie for breakfast, woke up so hungry!
Worked equine girlie in the school, three times she jumped sideways in ‘ spooky corner ‘ but on the fourth circuit she was fine.
Home in time to watch the last four riders go in the Freestyle dressage, pleased to see CD get another medal.
The repetitive pleasure of some jobs, this one dead heading climbing rose, warm sun on my back and steady click of secateurs.
Heavy thunderstorms in the evening and then cool enough when we went to bed to warrant pulling up the eiderdown, felt good to snuggle down.11 -
DD......heartwarming photo of your Mum and little ones.
Paulie fab pics..............am dead jealous (as usual)

Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) The central heating is (nearly) done! It is very snazzy and works off a remote control box thing. I'll have to move some of the pots in the garden as the heat pump draught nearly blew the plants away.
3) Hens OK.
4) Had a tidy up, though not completely as the plumbers will be back tomorrow.
5) Did the virtual pub quiz.12 -
1. Work over for the week. Seemed a long day but did have free lunch of stuffed pepper and tomato sauce. Needed the tomato sauce for flavour.
2. Chat with a friend. It helped to cheer me up.
3. Spent time in the garden. - some weeding in the area under the cob trees around the plants I've planted.
4. Feeding neighbours cats. They were all there and two of them are very friendly.
5. Very tasty fish stew for tea.12 -
Re glass in shower PH my only tip is to always use a squeegee thingy after each use to get all water off.
For yesterday,
Breezy day so plenty of washing dried on line, inc the sofa throws.
Orange flowers on my Crocosmia, the cuttings come from my Mums garden so they are much loved plants.
Met a friend for an afternoon catch up.
Enjoyed a programme about Hampton Court, it’s on my list of places I want to visit.
The bittersweet pleasure of needing to put a lamp on in the evening for the first time in ages.

VJsmum - blast but cast does protect things while they heal. A cooperative husband for dressing is Very Helpful (says she recalling wrestling with bra straps, let alone bathing, washing up etc).LaineyT - isn't Dujardin amazing? Love Pumpkin too... We've got rain. No line drying for a bit.Nargleblast - those Soul drops will see you plastered alongside VJsmum! Fun, mind, but ouch...Frith - I love the bat survey! A heat pump? fun!Villagelife - it can be a bit shocking to see how the pecking order is sorted! Cat sitting can be so much fun.PaulieHerts - stunning photos & oooh alpaca!DundeeDoll - just reading the warm-up for stretch & flex had me thoughtful! - love your mum & dogs photo!OS Pleasures recentlyMiddleson packing for a D of E expedition. Awed at how much space he can spread his kit over yet still pack & carry.Hurrah! My plans for tomato grown from seed are progressing. I have One Flower! But the herbs thrive and the little holly cutting is still alive too. I love gardening. It’s the wildly intermittent timing that makes life trickier.Middleson has set off for his Expedition & I am already checking everyone else is where I expect. A headcount is silly but it helps when a wave of “we’re short” wobbles the tranquility. [He sends occasional texts!]The tidyings brought Ngaio Marsh’s Final Curtain to the surface - ripping yarn! Shows how my family expect me to read digitally - they could See How Few Pages to the end & still attempted conversation…Hit the charity shops & Himself was bemused to find so many interesting books in one & then the penny dropped - we donated 8 banana boxes to this charity shop & he’s seeing old friends…Family zoom a combination of coaching parents in getting PCR tests (they’re in a hotspot) & trying to engineer a way of holding a hard cased cello to a extending sack trolley as the cargo net bought online is much too small. Dad now has a suitcase restraining strap & plans additional chain around the neck of the cello case attaching to the existing case hard points…. I think he underestimates the joys of bungee cord & gaffer tape but do see he has a reputation to uphold (even if it is that of stubborn individual [paraphrased from several paragraphs]).Saw a very cute daisy blanket in crochet, looked up how (YouTube has its moments) & thought “um, maybe not”. No indeed, agreed Himself, “some other craft, like metalwork, where the swearing is more apt”… With that loving support, how can I possibly fail?!Two bumblebees on the herbs. Love them, fuzzy and diligent. Thanks to the tidyings, if the lights go out, I have 4 handy boxes of tea lights in holders with matchbooks, (one of which was wrapped to give in 2008) These tidyings are necessary.LaineyT’s tip on Bendicks Bittermints from the fridge is genius. All the voom, definitely less temptation to eat Several. In the tidyings, another hefty supermarket bag filled with mugs. Plus a Dr.Who mug still in box. Pleasure they can all find new homes & support good causes. [Who were, bless them, touchingly grateful both that I donated, & that I called ahead first.]I misplaced my waterproof coat. Not in the wardrobe, not in the car. Er. In the middle of plans & scoldings, I looked & recognised a cuff, hanging off a bookcase in the bedroom. Heat induced confusion is a Thing! The upside of being shockingly round is I cease buying ladies garments & don blokes’ workwear. Why the trous for plump chaps with short legs are restocked locally (then discounted to a fiver a pair) I hesitate to speculate, but for a few minutes hemming & maybe taking in a little down the calf, I’m happy as a clam & sorted for Social Trousers for Months! [Not that I have actually hemmed anything yet.]Middleson's back, home, only slightly blistered & headed straight for bed, via setting his phone to charge likewise.Health, strength hugs & courage to all as have need, along with layers for temperature & wet?!13
