Good morning
Bala - thank you for the hugs. Much needed and much appreciated.
Mhagster - well done. Now for a rest. But I bet you won't!
Been a busy couple of days.
Gave the car the best clean it's ever had cos we're selling it in a few days. How daft is that!
Ploughed through the paperwork involved in the selling and buying of cars. Very lengthy but a bit easier with email rather than waiting for the post.
DD at the caravan and she bravely dealt with an earwig infestation. Well, she said there were loads. Probably half a dozen!
Yesterday
Watched DGS play football
2 DGC came for lunch and stopped all afternoon for gardening, painting, sewing and generally wearing us out - but in a good way.
DS and DGC 3 came at tea time and we all went for tea to Pizza Hut.
An excellent day finished off by a nice cool glass, while sitting quietly doing nothing.
Happy Monday everyone12 -

Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Paid off a little bit more mortgage.
3) Hens OK.
4) Posted an Ebay parcel.
5) My brother came round to fix the skirting boards which were tatty under where the storage heaters had been. I spent this evening filling gaps and holes with polyfiller.
6) The central heating man reappeared to sign everything off and mend the leaking radiator.
7) Chatted to the new neighbour in the garden.
8) Spent a good 2 hours weeding and tidying up outside.
9) Took smaller son to Tesco.
10) Smaller son made the tea (linguine with chilli, garlic, basil, olive oil and sun dried tomatoes).
11) Made a courgette cake.
12) My dad came up to look at the new central heating!12 -
I watched a seagull flying backwards on a current. A dove scoffing food, the like I have never seen. A wood pigeon taking a long cooling gulping drink, twice !
And a crow came to visit. Sadly seen off by a seagull. Pecking order established. I do love my crows.
A nice couple of hours with Mum out shopping. Last week was dire. We clash under normal circumstances. Good will has been restored. Too much pressure for too long. On many fronts.
On the sunny side of the street there has been intermitent bouts of strong sunshine utilised fully by my desire to have all washing dried outside. Discovered a beautiful creamy Camembert YS/RTC. My Dad loved it too........

For yesterday,
Busy day with chores, firstly plumber came and sorted out hot tap in kitchen, needed replacing but good news no more kettle boiling for washing up.
Food shopping, major renovations meant no frozen food to speak of but other than that nothing noticeably missing.
Youngest DSS’s postponed graduation has now been rearranged so going to make a long weekend of it in the North East.
Afternoon nap after a rough night, woke up and small dog had sneaked up with me.
Had some eggs that needed using up so tea was a Feta & Chorizo frittata.12 -

day 2 of work about to start but currently catching up on the olympics - ouch re pursuit. for yesterday
1) day started well, walked the dogs, did some gardening, bins out
2) cut the 4 overhanging rose branches from garden down the road - did wonder whether to ask them but they don't walk up the road so I suspect aren't aware. Put the offending branches in my brown bin (legally should have tossed them into their garden but think that would have looked rude, and there were no roses on these branches which were thin but thorny)
3) lunch time walked half way to town with dd2 who had a haircut - sunshine (rain had been forecast), called in pub on way back to check we're booked in for wednesday - we are - and booked dr m and myself for Leicester game on Saturday
4) walked up to mum's after work - she is much recovered (she'd been very tired) - nice chat over a cuppa then back for ham, new potatoes and ys broad beans, very yummy
5) played the piano for 70 minutes - meant to do 30 minutes, but found a book of 'easy' Mendlessohn and couldn't stop...
9am - time for workety work. have a good day everyone xxxMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
