Hope the youngest Frith enjoyed his birthday 🎂
For yesterday,
Warm, sunny with temps around 22 degrees, my perfect summers day.
My girlie was sleepy in the sun but then worked well for me in the school and most importantly has been staying in her paddock after getting into the habit of breaking out, suspect it is hormone driven so supplement ordered to support her.
Lunch and then out to the farm shop, in the next village on two small boys were trying to chase a chicken back into a garden so stopped and helped.
Got home and Capt S was back from his meeting so tea & cake in the sunshine.
The bat was out, circling the cottage and catching his supper.

Pleasures yesterday....
A lie in at the start of several days off.
Dog out for four hours with dog walker, she gets a change of scenery and a good runabout with doggy pals, then crashes out in the evening and sleeps very well.
Lying in the garden this morning in the sunshine.
Line full of washing dried and brought back in after lunch.
Junior cat in the garden making funny "meep meep" noises whilst stalking and chasing butterflies.
Resident blackbird couple flying around the patio, brave considering presence of junior cat, a proven killer of birds and mice. Yes, I hate that too, but that's nature for you.
Lunch outside on the patio to the sounds of a jazz playlist on Spotify.
Thunderstorms and heavy rain afternoon and evening, exciting and satisfying, knowing the garden is getting a watering.
Fresh clean lavender scented bedlinen.
Reading a book of uplifting short stories on my Kindle.
One life - your life - live it!11 -
posting early tonight as shattered. nargle my boys were also out with the dog walker this morning - they are smelly and tired! lavender-scented bedlinen sounds divine
1) after late night out woke before the alarm and felt very energised for 8am meeting.
2) meetings till 1 but ended a bit early so spent time in between doing housework which got me moving and got the house clean
3) after lunch walked down to pub to change table for saturday and bought a Feast on the way home yum
4) drinks with the boss, online, good laugh, she is 1 in a million
5) then pasta and spinach out of Jack Monroe book
and now watching the olympics. gbf coming round very soon to walk the boys

1 We popped over the bridge for a change of scenery and stock, however after a car burned on the bridge we were over there 3 hours longer than planned, so we popped to Ikea looking for inspiration, instead we ended up buying to replace some broken kitchen bits that had lasted 30years in fairness. and small storage boxes still under ten spent. I’ve portioned up the cheese and bacon into the freezer a pleasure it’s done. I did notice a lot of people buying a lot of water everywhere we went and wondered what we have missed? I might ask over on the prepping thread.
2 A chat with a neighbour.
3 The animals dancing like no one is looking.
4 I had to order some bits and bobs, remembered to use both quidco and another voucher for the best I can do.
5 Watching all the birds and squirrels enjoying the garden.
6 Tidying in general to stash things tidily, still work to be done but progress made
7 We are currently watching a film that is so bad you can’t help but laugh at it.

Bedtime. Been snoozing on the sofa so came upstairs.
it’s raining. Hurrah. Been waiting for it to start .Back massage first thing. Of the ouchy variety. Much needed.
Had booked a recycling centre spot so took a broken bed and a broken gazebo.
Have a bagful of clothes to go to charity bin, a tomorrow job.Had leftover curry for tea.11 -
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK.
3) A wasted journey into town (25 mile round trip) as Halifax assured us, over phone and Twitter, that smaller son's account could be closed today. In reality, it could take up to 10 days. So we popped to Greggs.
4) House quite tidy.
5) Paid off a bit of mortgage.
6) My sister popped in and I made flapjacks while she was here.
also, from yesterday, next door's had a survey done on the septic tank as they are selling their house and will give me a copy (joint tank). This will be useful when I come to sell.10 -
Not sure what happened to my post yesterday. So for the last coup!e of days.
1. Celebrated DH birthday at my parents. A lovely evening. Good food and drink and company.
2. A colleagues last day as is now in maternity leave. She brought cakes in. She is 4 months in to a fixed term contract.
3. The person covering her seems lovely which is good. She is new who I hadn't met due to different working patterns.
4. Chat with various neighbours.
5. Cheese delivered for DH birthday. Present from my sister.
6. Lots of messages with my sister and DS2. Her dog, who DS2 is looking after, has come into season and she is so worried that it is causing a problem. It isn't a problem.

Good morning
Wednesday
Went for tapas with DD and partner. It was coincidentally our wedding anniversary. We don't really celebrate as such but was nice to raise a glass to 48 years . Lovely tapas and then still warm enough afterwards to sit outside by the lake with a coffee. A lovely evening.
Yesterday
New car day. Delivered by a lovely man who patiently explained it to us. It's got so many bells and whistles that it will take us ages to master it. It's an automatic, and I've never driven one before but everyone tells me I'll love it. We'll see!
Had slept really badly, even by my poor standards, so did very little. Did make some lovely oven veg and sea bass for tea though.
Happy Friday everyone10
