For yesterday,
Into horsey town for a food shop, nicely quiet with everyone wearing masks.
With my girlie, lovely time together but she did that thing of standing by the gate watching me leave which is always a bit of a heartbreaker 🥺
An impromptu cup of tea in the garden with my best friend, she had come over this way to collect a marketplace purchase.
Tasty tea of SF tuna with veg & noodles.
After a muggy day a nice breeze got up in the evening which cooled the house down nicely.
Eta cross-posted with Nargle and just wanted to say how very sad for your colleague losing their little one in such a horrific way.11 -
Oh Nargleblast, your poor poor colleague. Words fail me because I can only imagine the pain.
Happycas, thank you for reminding me that when even-keeled I am upbeat. Was going to say more but the news of the death of a 2 year old has kind of taken my breath away.
A safe day wished to all

Pleasures for yesterday
1. A walk with a friend. She's kn_ ackered her ankle running. Someone said we should be a stunt double act - until we pointed out that we weren't very good at it. 🤣
2. She came back to mine for lunch.
3 spent the afternoon in the garden with my book. In the sunshine. Might have had a doze
4. Went out for pizza. Yum
5. Watched Olympics- two golds wow
Have a good day allI wanna be in the room where it happens14 -
Good afternoon
Dig fv - your description of your hugs with mum and dad really reminded me of when I first realised my mum and dad were getting old. Of course, I knew how old they were chronologically but suddenly there was a shift in my perception. They were older!
Nargle - that is such sad news. Almost impossible to process, I imagine
Bala - I fear anything I say will sound trite, but it's true. This too will pass. Which I know doesn't help much right now. Sending love and hugs.x
Today is not quite as hot but still very pleasant.
A lovely walk round the nearby stately home gardens and bought a lavender plant to have in a pot at the caravan.
Painted another fencing panel. Halfway now.
Finished series 3 of Virgin River. That went quickly! Watching Baptiste one episode per week and filling in with Lewis repeats. Perhaps there'll be some new programmes soon. There's a new Grey's Anatomy on Prime but you have to pay. .No thank you.
Happy Tuesday everyone12 -
So very sad nargle
1) the promised rain didn't arrive - washing done, dried, put away hooray
2) last of July's seasonal soups - broc-a-leekie - made, very nice, rest in fridge
3) went to town with dd2 - bought a dress in the sale - £6, very nice, then we went for pancakes
4) gbf came round to walk the dogs once the temperature had dropped - i thought i was meeting mr g and dr m but no sign of them and pub booking system had malfunctioned so didn't know if they were coming - decided not to wait, met dd2 and gbf on their way back
5) and now we're watching the Olympics catch-up - can't work out the surfing scoring at all!MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Work continues apace installing the central heating.
3) Had a bit of a tidy up this evening. (Necessary, if futile).
4) Have Holby City to watch just now.
5) Chilli in a wrap for tea for me, jacket potatoes for smaller son.
Just received the news that the pupil that I was a TA for in her final year at high school passed away this afternoon. She had been ill for over 10 years but it still seems impossible news this evening. She was always so matter of fact about it. She ran through her funeral plans with me a few times. She was 19.12 -
Hello. Just waiting on washing machine finishing a load before I head to bed. We’ve been puppy sitting a 9 week old baby boy pup for 7 hours. Oooft! One forgets just how much work they are especially when they’re not yours and your dog has to be watched too !The cuddles were nice, the zoomies were fun but the peeing on my floor not so much! Kitchen rug currently in washing machine!A bit like the GN’s lovely to have but even better to hand them back!
a day off work. So no doggy we did not have to be up quite as early this morning but of course we will tomorrow morning so no wonder you’re confused!Popped in to mums to drop some shopping off. Much to be done when I go tomorrow…she had hung up the phone on me last night saying she hadn’t spoken to anyone in a week. We were last there on Thursday night. My brother was in on Saturday and my sister phones on a Saturday. And I called her on Monday but she hung up! Sigh! Anyway a brief encounter today and a longer one tomorrow. Then it was quick home to puppy proof downstairs and block off upstairs! We watched Mamma Mia whilst he was having zoomies!Happycas you can watch Grays series 17 on couchtuner.name . It’s also on Disney plus if you have access to that .Nargle how truly awful. There are no adequate words.11 -
Nargle and Frith -
Have just seen your posts and felt the shock of your words, 🙏.

A year gone today for a young person here, too.
All blessings, as we say and know them on this thread - they have another resonance at such times.

Nargle and Frith there are no words, so sad doesn’t really seem to touch it.
1 Hmm dinner was an interesting mix of burnt meat and cawli cheese, the oven does a weird thing if you don’t keep an eye after turning it down and returns to its default setting.
2 Just planted a few plants out.
3 A tiny flutter on the 41m lotto, as well you never know, well you probably know but hey just maybe…
4 Enjoying the evening air with the windows flung open.

Nargle and Frith such sad news.
1. Work - wasn't too bad. I requested which Saturdays I need to work and the day off I want in place. Let's see what happens.
2. Flowers still looking good.
3. I fixed my ironing board- didn't take long in the end and pleased it's been done.
4. Text messages with a few- set me up in the right frame of mind to start the day.
5. Watching Olympics.12
