Bala, oooh books, I love books, a great haul. So glad your dad is in his on place.
Carolbee, Of course, it’s a Cherry Heliotrope I think it’s called a Cherry pie plant? We got it about 3 years ago now it’s pot bound with clumps of purple flowers, which smell lightly of cherry.
Not too many pleasures other than soup! A jaw infection has me floored from last weeks tooth extraction, I am looking forward to the dental dr appointment today. Sort of.
These are for the last few days, back later for today.
1 My doctors check-up went fine.
2 Someone called to check on us.
3 We went for a long walk, 6 miles in all.
4 They were filming the new darling buds of may 2 towns on from us, we happened to go throu but had forgotten, with all the press there.
5 Animals and birds enjoying the garden, a continual pleasure.

I remember they filmed the scene with the funfair quite close to where we used to live near Faversham, in the original series.Carolbee10 -

Bala - glad dad is home
Pleasures for yesterday
1. A day of not doing much - i'm not very good at it. Was largely waiting on people sorting out the stop c0ck to the close. As it was my building work that necessitated the repair, i thought i'd better be on hand to turn taps on and off. The pleasure is that it is done and the plumber can now come and sort our stop c0ck out.
2. Applied for one job (i won't get it and not sure i want it) and had a conversation with old boss about potentially going back to old (pre PhD) uni. still pondering it...
3. Easy lunch and tea of using things up - in this case the smoked salmon from Monday for lunch and a chicken casserole.
4. washing largely dried on the line
5. Watched 'In the Name of the Father' - the Gerry Conlon/ Guilford Four story. Fabulous, shocking film.
Have a great day in the sunshine all - i'm still trying to do not much by reading my book in my garden... I doubt it'll last long.I wanna be in the room where it happens10 -
Good afternoon
Lovely sunny day after such a cold night I had to get up and put a blanket on top of the duvet.
Bala - glad dad is home and that you have lots to read. Did you ever get to the end of your own medical investigations or is that on hold for now?
Ouch PK. That sounds awful. Hope you soon feel better.
DH took 3 bags full ( no black sheep involved) to the charity shop this morning. It's a big collection centre for Barnados and last time he went they weren't accepting donations. This time they checked it all out and then accepted it, so that's a bit more space here.
Had a mad clean up in the bedroom, including under the bed. Honestly I don't know where all the dust/ fluff comes from. Sorted now but I spent about half an hour sneezing after that.
Re-watching Lewis now interspersed with Baptiste. I prefer Lewis because at least there are some nice people in it. Everyone in Baptiste, except for him , is so unpleasant that I couldn't care less what happens to them. But I do like the views of Amsterdam.
Taking DGD to her maths tuition later so we're having fish n chips for tea. That means I can have a lazy afternoon!
Happy 🌞 day everyone9 -
Afternoon all. Hope everyone is doing well
Yesterday's pleasures:
1) Made falafels from scratch, served some of them for dinner. Delicious. (Although the less said about the mess made, the better) Still have plenty leftover for a weekend lunch too!
2) Used a lovely lavender scented body lotion last night, and woke up still smelling of it come morning
Tonight is leftover curry for dinner, and having the last piece of courgette cake with a cuppa whilst watching Bake Off: The Professionals.
Bala - glad your dad is home. And wow, what am amazing haul!
Have a lovely and safe day all!10 -
Sorry MIA have to admit I’m struggling.
1 walking with friends most days ,they have on good knee between the two of them and I’ve got a dodgy hip so we’re not fast ,but we are persistent!
2 rejoined Slimming World last week ,I will get this weight off once and for all ,Especially if I do need a new hip .
3 now booked on 2 U3A short breaks ,I’m not convinced it’s the right thing to do but I need to get away ,it will be hard without DH who always enjoyed them but I will be with friends who are supportive .
4 Gradually sorting things out ,having an ongoing battle with Premium Bonds “You need to get Probate “ OK but until you tell me exactly how many he has I can’t apply for it ‘!
5We scattered his ashes last week on my birthday,it felt right to do it on that day so we did .
many apologies if I’ve told you some of this before,I still have no concentration or memory span .12 -
Sue - my heart goes out to you. You are so brave and so determined. But please, be kind to yourself too. It's such a lot to process, and it's still a very short time ( following a long time of anguish and worry) . I have no wise words, but do send love and hugs xx10

It's all ok, Suffolfsue, things are progressing in a normal fashion for you. By that I mean good days and not so good days, things running smoothly from the admin side, things running not so smoothly,..things do eventually work themselves out. In the meantime don't feel bad about taking a short break occasionally. You need to do this to get away and clear your head, also to get used to being Me and not part of Us.
Re Premium Bonds, most big organisations have a bereavement support section, after all, your DH is not the first customer of theirs who has died. There will be something in place for that situation. Go on the NSandI website and have a look. You maybe able to do an online Livechat with them to sort the problem out.One life - your life - live it!10 -
Sue sending you love. There’s not a right way nor a wrong way to go through what you are. You just have to do it your way, which can be hard in itself when you are so used to being a ‘we’ and not just a ‘you’. At the very least you are getting out and about in fresh air and with friends who will care for you and listen to you…and a pair of knees and hip between you sounds alright! Was up through night and then didn’t wake until 8.30am…was shocked at the time!Had been raining overnight which is good for the garden, saved me watering. Been a damp & dull kind of day. Not cold but not even warm. Jumper on day.Had to head to the mothers today. Not been in a couple of weeks with work and feeling unwell then work again. Holy moly! But it’s tidied than it was when I went in.Nice big walk with doggy, we both got rather wet as the long grass was soaking.DD2 had a rubbish shift at work so listened to that, then we had tea. Just had a mince round, some random French fries that I found when I cleared the freezer last week and beans!Bought some peonies in supermarket and also got some RTC bedding plants so enjoyed potting them up this evening.Just going to hoover bedroom then an early night as the alarm needs set for the morning. Work calls!10
