Belated birthday wishes Frith.For yesterday,
Had been relatively lazy all week and spent a lot of time playing ponies so the house needed a good going through, pleasure is when it’s done.
The early rain disappeared and we had a fair bit of sunshine.
The magpies doing their tag team act on the suet treats, then there was a Mexican standoff between them and the pigeons on the bird table, surprisingly the magpies backed down.
Text conversation with my DB, I am waiting on news of the arrival of a new family member but they are keeping everyone waiting.
Thai green chicken curry for tea, no rice but we did share a naan, might have added a bit too much chilli so a cold beer was needed too.9 -
Happy birthday Frith.
PK- hope you get your money back quickly. Hope you both manage to relax before the surgery next week.
For Thursday
1. A small bottle of prosecco left on the doorstep by neighbours. The daughter was getting married yesterday and it was have a drink on us. A lovely gesture.
2. Seeing a hot air balloon. The first one I've seen in ages. I do love seeing them.
3. A frustrating day at work. Pleased, in a way, that a young colleague was as angry about an email that was sent as me. It isn't just me being very cynical and seen it all.
4. Had lunch outside. Good to get some fresh air.
5. DS2 called round for two of the shirts a friend is taking in. He is pleased with the result.
For yesterday.
1. Had to go to the post office and had a lovely chat with the lady serving me. First time I've had a proper conversation with her.
2. DS1 had car parts delivered to me. He decided it was easier! I think because it would have been me that went to the post office and not him!
They were delivered by a lady and we had a long chat and laugh about various things.
3. Seeing the ducks going into the chicken coop and eating the food and drinking their water. The ducks are still with us. No idea why as I don't have a pond or anything. They fly off when virtually dark for the night.
4. Enjoying the prosecco in the garden with DH. We were reminiscing. Also watched the bats.
5. End of year accounts finished for DH. Pleased they are finished for the year but depressing seeing what the past year has done to his income.

Morning all. PK, hope you get your money back
Pleasures for yesterday - which must be found despite some sad news.
1. Pancakes for lunch
2. did a volunteer shift at the vaccination centre - i was on car parks in the rain but fortunately someone found me an umbrella. Was a bit like the school run with loads of very young people being ferried in by parents.
3. Watched more episodes of "the Fall"
4. Watched a film with DS "Creed" - I love the 'Rocky' franchise.
5. Cooked sea bass for tea.
Have a good day all - I really must get on...I wanna be in the room where it happens10 -
Good afternoon
PaulieH - must confess I had to Google Maldon as I had no idea where it was. It looks lovely. Think I will add that area to 'The List'
Frith - sounds as if you had a good birthday. Well done to smaller son for going with you at lunchtime. Baby steps.
Went to our favourite market butcher yesterday. He's advertised an apprenticeship but had no takers. I offered to send DH but he's not keen on early starts ( he is keen on meat tho!)
Had slept really badly on Thurs night ( even by my standards) so didn't do much else yesterday except make fajitas for tea and a lemon drizzle cakeI
Slept much better last night though so doing better today. Housework, accounts and some sewing so far.
DDiL and DGD both have coughs and a temp but LF tests are negative so fingers crossed.
Happy Saturday everyone

Happy birthday Frith.
Thanks for the comments re my pics and Maldon, can recommend it 😊
Went to the Lee Valley White Water Centre with my sister snd great niece yesterdayIt is less than a mile from home and we had a great time watching the water fill up and then 3 rafts going round the rapids and the guide tipping them in 🤣. They were having a great time. The centre was built for the 2012 Olympics and is still well used with the England team training there and fun days and team days as and when allowed.
We had some lunch and later an ice cream on the terrace above the course and even managed to catch a little sunshine ☀️
Went to see OHs elderly patents and help sort a few things out and then collected the tiles for my bathroom. The store loaded them into the car and I had to call my 6’5” hulk of a son to unload them as OH and I could barely lift them!
A couple of dips in the hot tub to relax after a couple of stressful moments today.
Night all 💤11 -
Pleasures for today (Saturday
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Did a few odd jobs in the morning.
3) I took the left over porridge to give to the hens and bumped into new neighbours on my way. One neighbour asked if they can come with me at some point to meet the hens!
4) My school friend came round after lunch. Luckily it stayed dry so we had a cup of tea in the garden.
5) Went for tea at my sister's. We watched the Wales match out the corner of our eyes. Very sad.
6) Popped to Lidl for supplies for the next few days. A pizza, a malt loaf, a family bag of crisps, crackers and Brie, amongst other things. Smaller son has eaten all those within 2 hours and wants to start on the pack of sausage rolls!
7) Put my new solar fairy lights (from my sister) up in the garden.11 -
