Did watch the indoor tennis game.
1 Meal planned for the week ahead, spag bol tonight.
2 Ordered a few bits an adjustable grandma table for DH was reduced 30%, and a clothe moth mixture from our local lavender farm, I did take the lavender shortbreads back out of the basket being good I think.
3 Resorted to using the tumble dryer as there were clothes not drying everywhere.
4 Seeing a very beautiful Jay in the garden
5 Oats for both flapjacks and porridge soaking in the fridge.

Up at silly o’clock as OH went to move my car off the drive ready for the builders to start stripping out the the bathroom and the car was dead! Luckily I did full RAC cover when I renewed my insurance and they are hopefully on their way.
Not a good start to the day and not looking forward to bathroom work as we only have the one loo!
They're starting sooner than planned as hopefully it will be more finished when we return from our holiday Saturday week.
Met my sister in law for my first indoor lunch yesterday and it was fine. We went to a large pizza place and it wasn’t busy and I remembered to use my Tesco vouchers, very MSE.
it has been a few days of things not working, firstly weird problems with my mobile and then the landline completely dead, engineer coming Thursday!
Enjoyed the Andy Murray tennis 🎾 match yesterday, great to see him playing well again and in front of the home crowd.
Here’s to the day running more smoothly, have a good one everyone 😊11 -
Ampersand and Boazu - in a way Quins fans were so surprised that we got to the final after the last few years that a win wasn't expected for us which I think made the day better.
1. Appraisal at work. Not as bad as could be. I said things about how things add-on probably won't make a difference but been said.
Said no to a couple of objectives given to me. Not prepared to do extra work that won't be of any use to anyone just to tick boxes.
2. Chat with a friend.
3. DS1 called round for his suit which I shortened the trousers for.
4. Spent time in the garden.
5. Easy tea of pizza.11 -
For yesterday,
Final food shop of the month and we just scrapped in under budget.
Over to the yard and lunged the beautiful grey one, she was a good girl for her mum.
Long chat with my bf.
The rain came back in the afternoon so I sorted out my big larder cupboard in the kitchen.
Two exciting footie matches with extra time and penalties.11 -
1) Enough sleep...in and out of it a bit but enough overall.
2) My first cup of tea this morning.
3) New top (well from e.bay) for me and a 'flop' toy (from Bing Bunny) for the granddaughter via. Hermes yesterday. Grateful for deliveries and have been since last March and the first shut down.
4) OH has made me a new stand for my 'jelly bag' to hold it higher over the bowl the fruit drips into, will make jam making easier this year.
5) Warm socks and cardigans which I didn't think I'd still need at the end of June BUT it is the British summer so it's not a total surprise to still need them.10 -
Morning all.
Thanks for the hugs - was a tough day, a long day. But it could have been worse. Pleasures
1. Train journeys were ok and was provided with (just about) edible food. Having free train travel is a perpetual pleasure, I shouldn't complain about the quality of food i don't have to pay for.
2. Good walks to and in between stations - 3 miles in all.
3. Breakfast / brunch with favourite nephew (FN - FN is also favourite niece but i don't think it's too confusing at this point). We both had avo toast with poached egg and halloumi, and coffee. Still odd to hear FN's aussie accent as opposed to the "Estuary" accent i'm used to. He gave me the run down on his mum's illness to date. She really is very unlucky to get both COPD and Lung cancer before she is 60 (she will not make 60
). I know she smokes/d but many others do who aren't half as unlucky. FN has to go back to Aus next week to renew his visa, he will say goodbye to his mum knowing that he won't see her again
and then go into 2 weeks quarantine in Oz. I so hope he isn't alone when his mum dies but there's nothing to be done. She wants him to get his visa.
4. Then we went to see my brother. Both brother and FN were doing 'tag team' on caring for SIL when she was at home (she could just about get out of bed to use a commode but that is all she could do, she couldn't even walk a few more yards to the loo. She is currently back in hospital but i'm not sure my brother will be able to do all the care if she comes home after FN goes back... Brother is fairly pragmatic about it all though and making plans for 'after'.
5. Came home to a bowl of cereal and mindless telly. 6 hours travelling and an intense 6 hour visit took it out of me for sure. The pleasure in all of this is to see both my brother and FN, to listen to them while they talked about it, to help them rationalise some irrational fears (they were afraid she'd choke to death or starve to death - but neither of those things will happen.. ), and to let them know i'm here when they need me. the one thing i do have at the moment - finally - is time.
Rather intense pleasures today, i'm afraid. I'm having a gentle morning but have a few chores to do this avo (catching the Aussie lingo...). have a good day everyone.
I wanna be in the room where it happens13 -
VJ that’s so difficult. I’m sure your brother and DN were pleased to see you and were able to talk about it all 😘11

Such a difficult time for everyone. Although hard for you too, I'm sure you gave much comfort by being there to listen.
Now please be kind and gentle to yourself. Love and hugs x8 -
Look for those pleasures, VJs, they will still be there despite the situation. One life - your life - live it!9
