THanks all - please don't let me derail the thread, I love reading everyone's pleasures..
So, for today.
1. A short bath, although it was a bit cooler than i'd like - i.e. it wasn't red hot.
2. Builder is making good progress and there are tiles on the wall of the downstairs bathroom
3. A chore that, for reasons too dull to bother you with, meant I had to make a 2 hour round trip to take a photograph, was not too bad and i enjoyed listening to the radio as i drove.
4. Applied for my old job - I'm not 100% convinced this is a pleasure, particularly if i don't get it 😱😕- but it will mean there can be no 'what if'.
5. Looking forward to my moroccan veggie burger for tea with cous cous and salad.
Have a lovely evening all.I wanna be in the room where it happens9 -
Hello. Been a stunning day here.
Up early for work. Way over the fields at 5.30am. Just us and the birds. Me and my dog.Just perfect.
Home for a bit, sat in the garden , in the shady bit and did some work emails. Then we put up the gazebo. To get to the gazebo ( in the log shed) we had to move the greenhouse, squeal at some spiders ( filled a bag of logs , been on the to do list but I’d have to move the greenhouse…) squeeze back past the the greenhouse, realise we did not have a 6 foot tall son to help. Just two little people but between us we managed! Then walked to work for a photo shoot! Met colleague and walked in with her. Popped into supermarket for some bits for lunch then walked home.Had a picnic in the garden. Filled the paddling pool for the dog…he never went in but DD2 and GN had a paddle.May have kind of snoozed…half heartedly. Under the gazebo on the garden sofa. Then it was time to take GN home, back through beautiful countryside and to her seaside town which was heaving with people. Had thought to stop at beach on way back but nah way too many people for me! Quick chat with niece and GN ( nephew) …whatever happened to Thomas the Tank Engine…it’s all modern! Then a lovely drive home. Stopped at supermarket for ice lollies and the dog and I enjoyed one each in the garden when I got back. It’s been so lovely having GN here, it felt an almost normal thing to be doing as she used to stay often.
Shall be going out to water the garden with the paddling pool water shortly. Then bed at a decent time I think…up for work early tomorrow morning again.12 -
Hope you're OK, VJsmum, it sounds very difficult.
Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Smaller son went to college.
3) Hens OK and I got a bowl of raspberries off the allotment.
4) Hoovered and steamed the floors downstairs, got washing done and dried on the line, tidied up etc.
5) Off to floody city to collect smaller son. We went to the station afterwards to print out our train tickets for Manchester and also to have a nose around (it is a new station).
6) Spanish chicken and rice for tea.
7) My brother came round to watch the match with me and smaller son. I remember the last Eng v Germany match I watched (I think it was the final, in 1996). That was interesting as I was in a pub near university with Dieter, Reiner, Sigrun, Janetti, Peter and Sylvie who had to murmur "Oh, very good" every time Germany scored!
8) Picked bigger son up from work, ready for dentist appointment number 11 tomorrow morning. The post waiting for him here was an invitation for his coronavirus vaccination and a tax refund so he is happy.8 -

VJsmum hugs.
1. Work mainly ok. I'm letting things wash over me far more at the moment as have mentally taken a huge step back from majority of my colleagues.
2. Manager spoke to me - she had her driving licence back which is great for her. She had to hand it in for health reasons which are resolved.
3. Quiet journey home - the football was on tv!I
4. Flowers are still looking ok.
5. Salmon for tea which was tasty8 -
Good morning
Though not so good - it's sort of drizzly grey here.
Bala - as we haven't heard from you for a while, I guess you're still struggling. Hugs and a hope for some improvement.
S Sue - hope the dreaded admin is finally settling down. More hugs coming your way.
Came to the caravan yesterday and had a sunny but breezy first day.
Walk along the cliff top to make sure the sea was still there and that all was well. It was.
Watched the football. Worth mentioning because we never watch sport! ( I can hear the gasps from all the sports fans on here!) We didn't really pay a lot of attention until the first goal, but it was exciting after that. I well remember the last time this happened. I was 18 and thought at the time I was probably the only person in England who felt sad for Germany.
Today was set aside to paint the railings around the decking but it's been raining and ,of course, the wood is all wet. Oh dear! Never mind! Will have to go for a walk to a nice cafe instead. What a shame!
Happy grey day everyone

Hugs VJSMum, your poor family with the toughest of tough situations x
For yesterday,
Sparrows squabbling over the bathing stone which sits in the bottom tier of the water feature to make it the perfect height for bathing.
Picked a few sprays of the climbing rose to pop into a vase for the table.
Made a small batch of sultana scones for afternoon treat, wonder why Capt S doesn’t want to go back to office working 🤔🤣
The football, oh my we enjoyed the football!
Then, the very best pleasure of all when DB phoned to say that my great nephew had been born, more or less bang on half time. Mum & baby doing well and I can’t wait for those cuddles.12 -
Hello. Was an early start this morning with a bit of an oooft when the alarm went off so just a very shift doggy walk this morning but then I walked to work. Did a couple of hours there then walked home and admired the gardens.Have hoovered and washed floors. Tidied downstairs after GN was here…dog toys everywhere! But most of day spent outside. Garden bin day tomorrow so chopped the willow tree which was covering so many other plants and then cut back the spent lupine as they were also cover I g other plants and much deadheading and weeding…weeds will be back tomorrow I’m sure!Washings done and dried and folded.Had waited in for someone who was supposed to pick up mail that had been wrongly delivered here. Messaged her to say I was popping it in the recycling bin..waited in long enough and then went a lovely doggy walk over the fields.Last night someone local posted on our FB page that she had a pile of books for grabs…so I grabbed them and then will pass them on. So I’ve sat in the garden and read…in between a few work dramas ( trying to cover shifts grrrr!) and customer calls and emails. It was a dull start but actually brightened up quite nicely.Have brought myself to bed and hope to have a decent sleep with no alarm clock to wake me up!11

Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK.
3) Took bigger son to the dentist and he had his bridge fitted! It is funny to see him with a mouth full of teeth again. He is not happy with it but it will never look like it did before as both front teeth are shorter now and one was pushed back at an angle in the accident. And the nose scar remains!
4) Drove bigger son back to work, stopping at the nearest town so he could skateboard while I looked in a couple of charity shops.
5) Popped into Sainsbury's cafe on my way home and met a local couple whose youngest is the same age as smaller son. He was born at 23 weeks and they are having the same problems with County about refusing to fund a school for him once he is 16. I gave them the name of smaller son's solicitor and his college details. Ridiculous that we all have to go to such lengths.
6) Sorted out the house insurance - £95 and will get £23 cashback through Quidco. Paid the council tax and paid off a bit more mortgage.
7) Trimmed bits of the garden and swept up. Did 2 loads of washing.
8) Sorting out more towards our trip to Manchester next week. I went to book tickets for the Grayson Perry exhibition and got the only 2 left on either day we are there! Just need to decide where we will go for lunch and tea now.
9) Watching the Murray match but I keep thinking about his hip hurting.11 -
VJ, its lovely to be able to find pleasures in such circumstances, hope you are okay.5 Watched a little tennis.
Does anyone know where BOP is?
A terrible night of very little sleep, however even that is a pleasure as we had animal cuddles.
1 I made some flapjacks, they always turn out differently every time, these are the best so far and still, Added some cranberries for substitute sweet.
2 The animal fleeces and bedding all up to date and hanging on the line in the hope that the weather forecast is right as its very gray out there.
3 A soup for lunch as I ordered in an early for us dinner treat on a voucher, mainly because the café has shortened its hours, it was delicious as usual, also Mr T delivered to us this afternoon, I knew it was delivering but I completely forgot about it during the day as it’s not the normal slot.
4 Ambled around the garden weeding and tidying as I went.
