Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Ampersand's post. Think of the alternatives to KL...
3) Hens OK.
4) Hayfever ridiculous so did lots of inside jobs. Bicarbonate of soda and scrubbing to the living room floor tiles. This gets done roughly once a year. Changed bigger son's bed. Cleaned the bathroom. Usual washing up, laundry (still out on the line), tidying etc.
5) Chips from the van for tea to go with veg chili from the freezer. Picked a bowl of raspberries and alpine strawberries on the allotment so we had those for pudding with Greek yoghurt.
6) Watched various bits of Wimbledon.
7) The plumbers emailed to say the central heating won't be fitted at the end of August now but could they bring it forward to the 2nd? They certainly can - I've never lived in a house with central heating!
8) In bed ready to watch Gogglebox then the Last Leg.
9) Haven't heard that bigger son's bridge has fallen out yet!10 -
Lainey- prayers and positive vibes and hugs to you and your family.
Bala - thank you.9 -
1. House is much tidier. Most things are now where they should be.
2. Washing dried on line including bedding which was back on the bed so clean sheets.
3. Did some gardening. Had a chat with my neighbour.
4. Spoke with my parents and my sister on the phone.I
5. DS1 called round to collect his brake pads which he got delivered here. He gave me some coffee pods - 150 of them. A colleague of his was sent them by mistake.
He ended up staying for tea so had a good chat with him as we all are in the garden and saw the bats.10 -
Morning all from the South Lakes.
DforV - well done on the decluttering.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Builder put in the basin in the downstairs loo. It's looking very nice indeed in there now.
2. After a false alarm involving OH's sister and a track and trace alert, he eventually left their holiday cottage in S. Wales (it was more that they were evicted! OH thought he might have to drive his mother home meaning he'd not be able to come here until tomorrow, their effective eviction meant that SiL (who is fine) took her and is isolating with MiL until her quarantine is up).
3. DS and I drove to the Lakes - always nice spending time with him in the car chatting. He's always much for fulsome when he's driving.
4. Stopped in Lancaster for lunch. I've never been before, it's nice.
5. Finally, 3 of us are here (DD is coming tonight). A trip to a posh supermarket (Booths for those that know) means we are stocked up with nice things.
Have a great day all - we're off to the Lakeside and Haverthwaite steam railway.I wanna be in the room where it happens10 -
Was that the Booths at Kirkby Lonsdale, VJS? I've been there a few times. One life - your life - live it!10

2) started with my saturday bath a day early - it was lovely and remembered to put hair mask on so hair nice and soft
3) then met work friend for leisurely wander round the botanics then coffee and cake - the weather was gorgeous
4) after lunch in the garden dd2 and i went to dunelm and bought curtains for the music room. i was given some but i never liked them so, although not totally mse, i am very happy (and unexpected 10% off)
5) then walked down to the phoenix to see first match with friends who are rather heavy drinkers. successfully paced myself cos then mennies with other mates to see 2nd match. dr no offered to get me a drink - i asked for tea, which was delicious

Good afternoon
Wow DfV - that's some serious decluttering going on there!
We're back. Had a lovely few days away including
Lots of walks punctuated with coffee and cakes ( there's always the hope that the walk cancels out the cakes.)
Meeting with our caravan friends( for coffee and cakes!) We don't often manage to coordinate our visits so we had plenty to catch up on.
A lovely meal in a fish restaurant overlooking the harbour. Beautiful fresh fish and a relaxed atmosphere. Somehow they seemed to follow all the rules but unobtrusively.
Managed to paint 2 of 8 panels on the fence round the decking. DH says we'll do 2 each trip! Well, we don't want to overdo things, do we.
And I'm babysitting tonight so that's a treat. It really is, after months of being kept apart.
Happy Saturday everyone

Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK and picked a bowl of black and redcurrants.
3) Tuna and cheese on toast for lunch. Roast shoulder of lamb and veg for tea.
4) Had a tidy up and made some brownies.
5) My brother popped up to watch the football, which was an interesting match.
6) Someone in the village is letting off fireworks (can hear them but not see them, no matter where I stand) and I nearly got hit in the face by a low flying bat!11 -
For yesterday,Baby still in ICU but awake and alert so good improvement.
Warm and humid all day, worked in the garden for most of the morning, we had left the side closest to the field un-mown but the ragwort was taking over so I pulled all of that up, it seems to have been bad this year.
Capt S like a cat on a hot tin roof waiting for footie so we watched a film in the afternoon.
Early tea of a takeaway, nice treat.
The football was worth the wait!9
