5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

-
1. Quiet morning. Read some of my book.
2. Text conversation with a friend.
3. Walked to post box and chatted to a neighbour. Her husband is in hospital but hopefully coming home soon. He gave us a cherry tree he had grafted when we purchased out new plot of land.
4. A couple of small areas of garden look much better as now weeded and plants have been planted.
5. Football. I did watch some of it but lost interest towards the end when there was no tension.

missing BOP
don't suppose anyone can remember his real name (have been trying to find his photos) or knows if he's OK
1) following someone saying 'and then there were three' after 3 of our ADQAS had mentioned their imminent replacement due to having done their 6 years max, listened on youtube as I pootled round the house - Undertow took me straight back to UG days and a crush on Mark the PhD student. he came back to mine for a cuppa and a friend 'saved' me. not that i needed saving. then i sent him a valentine, then found myself so tied up with shyness and embarrassment, never spoke to him again. some things never change! but was lovely to revisit the music
2) another friend had sent me this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKlkYAT5Fkc wow. The changes in time signature (something i love in music of any era) reminds me of the meme 'we live in difficult times' 🤣 hoping he's done some Bowie and Floyd
3) went to the beach with dd2 and gbf - the RNLI tent was on the dog-free in the summer months beach, hence carrying them!
4) gbf not too good so we went back to mine for tea and sympathy. which of course is what friends are for - then he took me and the old curtains to the dump hooray
5) after watching the denmark game (one of my sweepies now out) watched engerland in the pub with dr no (supporting england) and mr g (supporting 'the other team'). first half very boring, 2nd half much better. dr no has warned me he'll be supporting denmark next match (he's a Leicester fan and Schmeichel is their goalie) which is of course fine by me. I've just loved feeling safe watching in the pub - sadly not previously the case (and very sad if that is also the case for Scots in England, there is no place for any of it!). Rivalry yes, but not insults, spitting and violence (as experienced by 2 of my children at school)Then home to watch today at Wimbledon.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Hello.Just in from workety work day one of the big ones. Ooooft! It was hot. It was slightly stressy.
There’s been heavy rain so that’s good for the garden. There’s been lots of steps. 13500 so far today and I drove to and from work as had stuff to take in with me.Nice dog walk at 5.30am when it was pleasantly cool.Okay tips today and they are going into a new jar for the month of July and I will donate these to research fundraiser money.9 -
Good evening
Lainey - so pleased to hear better news about your little one. Fingers crossed the improvement continues.
D Doll - I wish BoP would reappear. I'm going to be needing help from Jenny soon ( not for me personally)
Babysitting last night was good fun. There's only one baby and she was asleep but the other two kept me entertained until their bedtimes.
Then this morning DS popped in for an hour with DGS and it was warm enough to play in the garden, using toy trucks to collect fallen petals.
This afternoon DD appeared to show us her posh new car. They had been glamping with friends and her poor OH was suffering so badly with hay fever they had left early!
Nearly caught up with the holiday washing. Now the ironing to tackle! Not at this time of night though. Tomorrow will be soon enough.
Happy summery evening everyone12 -
Hello. I haven't posted on the site since Feb 2020..pre covid. Things have been weird. Now I need to get back out into the world, finding it hard and very strange.
5 Things for Sunday
1. Got a new phone and it is working.
2. Went out for a 30 minute walk, the sun was warm on bare arms.
3.Flowers from garden in vase on kitchen window sill make me smile.
4. Strawbs and blueberries eaten with yogurt for desert.
5. Watched Hoarders and despite living in messy hell I'm not that bad.

Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK.
3) Bigger son suddenly appeared! He had been to a school friend's to watch the football last night. MrN's son5 had also reappeared (first time in a year) so that had been good. Bigger son mended the toilet for me (!) then we went to Sainsburys and I dropped him back at work. His false tooth bridge is still in, which is a good sign. He aims to keep it going for 10 years.
4) Popped in to see my sister on the way to take bigger son back. Had a cup of tea. Dropped some t shirts off for brother in law - that smaller son has grown out of! Brother in law is a mere 6 feet tall.
5) Still chuffed after the football last night. My brother has asked if can come here to watch the match on Wednesday. Smaller son was wearing my hat for the last 2 matches so has to wear it for every match from now on. Last night we were wondering if we were even English, it's so weird to win! (To be fair, sons are half Welsh).
6) Watched "Yesterday", though I had already seen it in the cinema. Now listening to the Beatles on my phone.
The cooker cleaning man has phoned to say he will be here in the morning - at 7.30! So I've had to set the alarm a bit earlier.12 -

4) went for a drink with friend who has inoperable c of the oesophagus (obviously the c not a pleasure) we had such a laugh - another friend I haven’t seen for ages (forensic pathologist) had us in stitches
5) now in bed watching 1st series of Miranda - fab

For yesterday,
Up early and cuddles with small dog on sofa.
Bacon butties for breakfast.
Over to the yard and saw fellow livery owner, worked beautiful grey one in the school and then walked around the paddocks for a cool down, very warm and muggy.
Decided against a big Sunday roast and we cobbled together a ploughman’s lunch from contents of fridge.
Reading my book and snoozing on sofa.
Biggest pleasure of all, latish phone call from DB to say that baby out of ICU and is now reunited on a ward with his Mum, lovely ☺️11 -
Oh Lainey - huge sigh of relief ! X10
