Good evening
Bala - Good that you have a diagnosis but the chest pains sound scary. And v sorry to hear that your dad is still struggling. It's a very difficult time for you. Sending some hugs your way.
PKitten - antibiotics are amazing - for ferrets as well it seems.
Had a lovely teatime with DGC. McDonald's ( though not so good for me cos they don't do fish fingers anymore!)
Followed by crazy golf
Then back to our house to make and fly paper aeroplanes
All good fun!
And it's warm and sunny
A good day all told
Happy evening everyone11 -
Recent pleasures:
Day trip to Maldon with friend, her turn to drive 😊
Fairly sunny and warm enough to be pleasant. Morning tea on a moored boat and yummy lunch (smoked salmon pate) at a pub by the estuary . I really liked Maldon, unspoilt, never been before.
Bottled my elderflower champagne and I’ve got 3 x 2 litre bottles 🍾, hope it’s as good as last year.
Nearly all the components for my bathroom refurb delivered today.
A couple of lovely relaxing dips in the hot tub.
Chicken fajitas for dinner.
Night all 💤

Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to high school to do some invigilation.
3) Popped to Waitrose for a cup of tea afterwards (as I had half an hour to kill) before picking smaller son up from college at 12.
4) Hens OK.
5) Had some salmon for tea with roast vegetables.
6) The septic tank company had been ordered by next door's but were unable to access it due to head high nettles. (It's in a field, not owned by me). So I took 2 hours this evening with a pair of secateurs, hacking back so you can now walk to it if you're careful. They also came in the wrong lorry (not a good enough pump) and without the 100 metres of piping they need as it is so far from the road. The former neighbour has thrown tonnes (literally) of rubbish over the fence that I shall also have to collect up and have a bonfire down there. Talked to the new neighbour over the fence when I started walking back to my house.
Saw downhill neighbour who shares the tank with me but will never do anything practical, and her house sold today.
7) Smaller son is in a very good mood and has made me 2 cups of tea this evening.
8) I watched Kinky Boots (the film version) this evening.
9) My school friend phoned.8 -
Good morning. Just about to head out to work for a couple of hours. Woke before the alarm clock this morning and was a bit discombobulated as to what time it was and if I’d missed the alarm. I hadn’t.
yesterday was a wet day here. Looks like same again today though dry for the first quick doggy walk…was most certainly not dry for the last one last night! We were both soaked as we walked through the fields and I realised as I struggled to get down the muddy banking at the burn ( small stream) I would struggle even more to get up the other side on the way back. Glad nobody saw me! It was so slippy and wet I’d to keep throwing the dog a treat further and further away to help give me traction!Anyway! Yesterday also up early for work and a couple of hours done. Feels like a while since I’ve been in early.Home and quick hoover of upstairs then we went out and about.
First stop garden centre to try and get an obelisk for the garden. They’d none left but did get a couple of plants and a cheese scone!Across beautiful countryside to another. I used to work with the chap that owns it and I haven’t seen him in ages but we stood and had the funniest chat for a while and he did have an obelisk and said he couldn’t be bothered going and looking up the price ( it had come off) so I could just have it…fabulous! Then ended up buying more plants there! But so good to have a chat with him! He asked DD2 what age she was as she was only 10 when he’d last seen her! Then back into town, went to big supermarket ( always a risk as there’s so much more choice!) May have came out with four cushions!Popped into the charity shop near there ( by this time pouring and I was wearing sandals!) and got a pashmina for our September wedding for a whopping £1.45 and a faux pearl necklace. A pair of cropped jeans and a lovely top that still had tags on but also had embroidered bees and pretty flowers on it!Gave pashmina a gentle hand wash as it had that charity shop smell so I’m hoping it’s dried okay overnight.Various nice chatters throughout the day with neighbours, boss, old colleagues. Then a nice but very soggy walk with doggy.Work this morning then hoping to get plants planted today …they certainly had a good drink yesterday!

Fab pics Paulie.
Nice haul at the CS Mhags.
For yesterday,
Having breakfast and watching some fledgling robins come out from under the shelter of the big hedge, we didn’t realise the parents had had a 2nd brood and are so glad we held back from cutting hedge.
Over at the yard and girlie worked well for her Mum, warm in the sunshine.
Chat and an afternoon cuppa with my matched person, they entertained me with their tales of the racing industry.
Home and Capt S cutting grass so planted up bargain basement plants, also harvested some of my herbs, first full moon after Litha.
Early night and read my book.11 -
I concur with Lainey about the pics and the haul!
Happy birthday, Frith.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. A soak in the bath and a new book started - though i haven't finished the current book but it's too good quality to read in the bath.
2. Coffee with friend A walk up the lane before hand as she was late - luckily i had taken an umbrella as it started to rain.
3. 2 ebay sales posted and another walk to and from the PO.
4. Began work on paper no. 2, that is likely to be paper no. 1 that i have shelved for now.
5. Found a new to me series to watch - The Fall.
Have a great day all.I wanna be in the room where it happens9 -

An irritation verging on fraud, the company we buy our pet litter from have been struck off but still took our money and were supposed to be delivering today! We are talking £330 for a years worth of litter and they still took it, so I have spent ages on the phone trying to get throu to the bank, and also a form for small claims court. Talk about frustrating. What is even more frustrating is I so wanted to support local for replacement pellets and they may be a lovely family company but they couldn’t even come close on price so I’ve had to go for a shop delivery, it’s annoying when I would like to support local but can’t literally support them by paying vast amounts extra.
1 Today was the downstairs all cleaned up nice when it’s done and rugs back down and cosy.
2 DH did some de cluttering, I am glad as he hates doing it but it’s done, if I am honest it feels rather like he’s getting things in order and it’s giving me major jitters, this time next week he will be recovering either in hospital or at home!
3 Fish, rice and veg for dinner, I plan to treat dh to ordering in tomorrow as he is more than a bit stressed for surgery next week, makes 2 of us obviously I guess.
4 A beautiful evening, and reading a book.
5 Meal planned for the next while.
