Sorry that the small holding didn’t work out PK am sure there is something out there for you.
Hugs to Bala, our NHS has a huge amount to be commended for but as always it is down to individuals being conscientious.
For yesterday,
Capt S had a rare day at the office so home alone, felt weird but did mean I could turn the music up - we have no neighbours!
Chat with Postie, she hadn’t done our round for a while so was nice to see her.
She came with a parcel, a new cap after my old one finally gave up the ghost, a good cap is an equestrians best friend, keeping rain off and sun out of eyes.
Bit of work done in the garden but we had bit of an infestation of these black flying insect things which were annoying enough to send me indoors so got stuck into my book.
Tasty tea, Salmon with pesto crust, Jersey Royals and broccoli.

I hope that I have just been unfortunate enough to ONLY meet those with an uncaring attitude.
I am pretty sure those that are conscience bound were the ones not standing around in groups on an A & E ward laughing and joking. Certainly not working. And who the hell was the porter, young chap, that felt it was his place to tell the person writing the prescription for my Dad to prescribe ones that can be bought over the counter. At this point I said in a very firm voice that if they could be bought over the counter they were not strong enough.
There are NHS staff that should be given medals. But evidenced by my experience this week there are too many that think just working for the NHS entitles them to some kind of automatic kingdom of gratitude and praise. Too much hubris.
And I am quietly livid.AKA : Bala La Boo & Bala Baloo

Morning all
Bala - sorry for your trials.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Meeting friends and caspar the doggy. Haven't seen them for a while so was good to catch up.
2. One of the above friends is a fabulous cook and he brought fresh baked pasties and biscuits
3. OH, DS and I then went to the pub for lunch as we were avoiding electricians who had turned our house upside down
4. Arrived in ICT fairly late - the journey was horrific. i think i'm just not used to seeing so many people with their noise. The pleasure is arriving.
5. Due to all the above food, i only needed a snack. Bought a really ripe camembert (that is now stinking the house out) and had cheese and biscuits with a yummy glass (or two) of red wine.
Have a good day all.I wanna be in the room where it happens14 -
Good afternoon
PK- sorry you missed this one. I'm a big believer in ' What's meant for you won't pass you by.' There's something out there waiting for you.
Bala - that's so frustrating. And made worse when you're so worried about someone. Your dad was lucky to have you fighting his corner.
Bit grey here but not raining.
Little trip to the Outlet village. DH bought top and chinos ( though will probably return at least one of them!) I bought a cream scarf. Sort of open knit, holey, floaty affair. Would suit Miss Marple. As it cost £1, I won't be returning it! And I'm sure it will fit.
My current book is a Miss Marple one. I seem to be going back to books I last read 50 years ago. But I am enjoying the gentler pace.
DH is currently sorting out his wardrobe. I'm keeping well away!
Off to make some flapjack
Happy Friday everyone

Bala ,contact PALS at the hospital and tell them what happened ,they may well be quietly collating similar concerns and incidents.
I was v lucky with the hospital and community services ,
The local hospice was another matter (not usually that way round I know )
DH funeral fixed for Saturday week to accommodate the assessment takers ,starting to come together now but oh dear COVID makes things so much harder .
thank you all for your continuing support14 -
You'll get there, Suffolk Sue. Lots of funerals have taken place since early last year. Both inside and outside of lockdowns, so there should not be any admin problems. Your funeral directors will sort it all out. I think you can now have more people in attendance, although the only ones who really matter are you and your immediate family. One life - your life - live it!15

Talking of hospices.....a colleague of mine left last year to go and work in a hospice (not NHS). I saw her recently for the first time in months. She has left the hospice as there was no work. Would you believe it, they actually shut the hospice because of coronavirus! What an insane world we live in, when someone can decide patients can stop needing hospice services just because there's a pandemic!

Our local one just about shut up shop too ,they have used it as an excuse to close the beautiful day unit and ancillary services probably permanently.Loads of clinical staff redundant or leaving in despair ,
after no contact from them for nearly a year ,they phoned and were amazed ‘Has he deteriorated ‘
afraid I almost lost it but tersely pointed out that he had a progressive neuro degenerative disease and I felt the clue was in the diagnosis!15 -
Nothing like the bleeding obvious, hey, Sue? I mean, if it was nearly a year since they'd been in touch, they should have been surprised he was still alive with such a definitive poor prognosis.
Hope you are finding time to rest and process what has happened. One life - your life - live it!12
