They they then excelled themselves,by writing to him to say that they’d heard I was unhappy with his care and asking his permission to talk to me ,they helpfully enclosed a consent form for him to sign and an s.a.e for reply .All signed by the chief executive! This was received exactly 12 days before he died !
i like to think my blistering reply ( using the envelope) is what has prompted her resignation last week !
l You really couldn’t make it up !14 -
Hello. In at work early. In and back out within 90 minutes Left flowers for a colleague as today was a difficult day for her. Received a lovely message from her.So it was an early morning stroll with the dog just us about at that time of day.Round to mums. Had a chap round to give us a quote for a garden overhaul. What do you think said mum £amount...me £double that amount! Anyway shall see what he quotes.Home and cut the grass. Looks better as always. Planted two clematis. Did a bit of weeding and swept up the patio.
Went for a late lunch at one of local castles. Oooh it was so nice to be out, out. And oooh it was so nice to have chips. And oooh it was so nice to have an amazing pudding! Stuffed and don’t need to eat ever again...until tomorrow! Nice to chatter with DD2...just the two of us again.Do need to walk when doggy when I feel less stuffed. It’s thankfully stayed dry...in an I still need a jumper on way! ( cold!)14 -
SuffolkSue - what numpties to have to deal with. It is horrible when you have to get quite shirty with people, just to get the basics covered.
Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) A lie in!
2) A rather cobbled together lunch for smaller son and me of sausages, hash browns and tomatoes (all baked in the oven for minimum effort) plus scrambled eggs and baked beans.
3) Hens OK (3 eggs today) and I left them free in the wider allotment until tea time.
4) A nice weekly emailed report for smaller son though they had got him mixed up with someone else for one paragraph and said he enjoyed climbing (!)
5) Went to canal town to take some of my aunty's things to a charity shop (I've spread it out between 5 or 6 shops so none of them is overwhelmed). Popped to Holland and Barrett for more dried bananas for smaller son. Also went to see a house that is (sort of) within my price range. My house is tiny (the whole area is 10 feet x 18 feet) and on a main road but of course you get 40 miles of view from the back. There will always be a trade off so the house I peered at from the outside today has more floor space (couldn't be less!), is on the very edge of canal town so more people and no real view but is in a cul de sac and the end of the garden goes onto wooded common land. And a large common at that. And a sensible sized garden, not my little square.
6) Went with my brother to a nursery as he wanted some sweet pea plants then for a walk along the river Teme.
7) Went to the shop in the next village as the Hari the shop had promised me some boxes for packing. Fridays and Saturdays are samosa days so bought a couple of them.
8) My dad gave me 2 courgette plants and my brother gave me a squash so I popped back down to the allotment to plant them as it is supposed to be raining much of tomorrow.
9) Chips from the van for tea.

Suffolksue, well done for writing that letter. They needed to be told. Fortunately, you will no longer have to deal with those people again. Don't let this experience spoil your memories of the last days you had with your husband. I remember now, he actually stayed for your anniversary didn't he? Well done that man! In amidst the anger and the tears, remember the good moments. There will be plenty, I am sure. One life - your life - live it!12

My pleasures today included a lovely aromatherapy massage. Trouble is, it left me not feeling like doing anything for the rest of the day. Never mind, we all need a lazy day now and then. One life - your life - live it!13

A sprawly surprise sort of day and I'm just in. There will be pics, because....
1......& suddenly thought 'CUBG, why not?' and looked online. Luckily there were still spaces for today's spit and grey. Thermos done, backpack and little munch quickly sorted.
2. That was straight after midweek Communion, which felt very 'on the pulse' and liberating in a good, 'load lifted' way.
3. Prepped 2 books and card for someone. Dropped off in Town of Gown at end of day. Very, very glad I did, to the very young widower. He is struggling, misses X so achingly and deeply, despite an offset exhaustion after a respectable first election outing as candidate, and the 24/7 involvement and physical slog input that involved. A good chat nonetheless, with some depth.
4. Found, almost at once! The white bleeding hearts, beautifully set, edging the wandering water amidst other woodland planting.
5. Big work on the glasshouses continues for the foreseeable future. & passes them to reach 'her' New Zealand garden, as always.
And here is our golden kowhai, very much a national flower, looking thin and spindly here, but &'s 1st sight ever of this one -
6. Everywhere, life springing, leaf and flower and fauna. Still so much blossom, which surprised &.
Artemesia Vulgaris+guest - heady scents and nectar everywhere.
Many more, but that's a taste of the loveliness that was. 6hrs of meandering ease, little sits, gazing and looking - and now to do hwb. Needed.
Bon soir à tout et à tous 👋

Sorry you didn’t get your smallholding PK, hope your dad is feeling better Bala, hugs to Sue 😘
OH was off on Thursday and as we couldn’t go for brunch as it was tipping down, we went to IKEA!
Never been before, it was huge. We were looking for dining room cabinets and breakfast bar stools. Saw some possibilities but the thought of flat pack is daunting as not our forte at all!
Then popped into large Sainsbury’s to return some jeans and find replacement plus a blouse for me and some bits for a late lunch. I found the whole trip exhausting as just not used to it, give me a 3 mile walk any day!
Yesterday, friend and I went for a walk as we had to abandon our usual Tuesday walk due to the weather. It managed to stay dry for a pleasant walk around a different lake and river and ended up at our favourite cafe for a tuna roll. Visited the 🦢 there but she is still sitting on her nest so no cygnets yet but the cooties there had grown but still fluffy and cute 😊
Friday takeaway was curry from our usual place but I did it through Uber and got 25% discount, even tastier!
Have a lovely weekend all, despite the weather ☔️12 -
Lovely pictures, thank you Ampersand and PaulieH
For yesterday,
Woke up feeling a bit meh but heaved to and did Friday clean, baked seedy rolls for lunch and generally pottered.
The never fails therapy of being with my horse, I had booked a lesson with the yard owner as a pair of eyes on the ground is very helpful, she constructed a course of poles in the school that got both of our brains working.
As with most horses, my girlie’s favours one rein or direction of going than the other so we worked on the weaker one, I sometimes forget what a blank canvas she was when I first met her and need to remember how far our partnership has come. The jackdaws nesting near the barn have obviously had babies as I could hear them cheeping when the adults come back from hunting.
Tired but much happier and an early night in freshly changed sheets.12 -
HHMMMMMMmmmmm......
I really do hate being down or negative but 10 year old niece in A&E yesterday, home now. Another story for another day.
To all that read my 'upset' please know that I do understand the immense pressure the NHS is under and actually completely understand that when Dad was shunted out of hospital and I was promised medication for him that it wasn't her fault that she forgot to put it through. Ensuing in a day of great pain for my father. Because I just couldn't get through to anyone.
On a lighter happier note.......'Hooman Watch' alert.............
Was in my parent's front garden and heard a bird call that I was not aware of hearing before. Stood very still and scanned garden. I have seen my very first Jackdaw. Thank goodness for Google. Absolutely thrilled.
I will at some point invest in a second hand pair of binoculars as eyesight not brilliant and I swear I am seeing birds in the distance that I have never seen before. My parent's neighbour has a flock of birds that arrive every afternoon. They wait patiently for him to come out with dinner. At least 80-100 gather and so far I have seen your pigeons (obligatory) doves, sea gulls, magpies.......all the bigger birds. Absolutely delightful.
Sue, good idea. I am one of the most understanding of people I know. I say this without arrogance. I just know myself. I can take any mistake, I can be very patient. I will not accept a bad, surly, rude, ignorant attitude. A complaint will be made.
Just to balance things out all my dealings with paramedics have been extremely positive. The first one took time to explain some things to my father (he wasn't at screaming point yet). My father is now willing to take second vaccination, go for hearing test. An excellent result. He just needed to be listened to and given a little time. This will also be mentioned. Fairness will reign.
