I really do hate being down or negative but 10 year old niece in A&E yesterday, home now. Another story for another day.
To all that read my 'upset' please know that I do understand the immense pressure the NHS is under and actually completely understand that when Dad was shunted out of hospital and I was promised medication for him that it wasn't her fault that she forgot to put it through. Ensuing in a day of great pain for my father. Because I just couldn't get through to anyone.
On a lighter happier note.......'Hooman Watch' alert.............
Was in my parent's front garden and heard a bird call that I was not aware of hearing before. Stood very still and scanned garden. I have seen my very first Jackdaw. Thank goodness for Google. Absolutely thrilled.
I will at some point invest in a second hand pair of binoculars as eyesight not brilliant and I swear I am seeing birds in the distance that I have never seen before. My parent's neighbour has a flock of birds that arrive every afternoon. They wait patiently for him to come out with dinner. At least 80-100 gather and so far I have seen your pigeons (obligatory) doves, sea gulls, magpies.......all the bigger birds. Absolutely delightful.
Sue, good idea. I am one of the most understanding of people I know. I say this without arrogance. I just know myself. I can take any mistake, I can be very patient. I will not accept a bad, surly, rude, ignorant attitude. A complaint will be made.
Just to balance things out all my dealings with paramedics have been extremely positive. The first one took time to explain some things to my father (he wasn't at screaming point yet). My father is now willing to take second vaccination, go for hearing test. An excellent result. He just needed to be listened to and given a little time. This will also be mentioned. Fairness will reign.

Pleasures for yesterday
1. A soak in the bath with a bathbomb and a book (all the 'b's 🤣)
2. Starting to get the paper in shape
3. A circuit by the sea in the sunshine (all the 's's 🤣)
4. Veggie curry for tea from the freezer - no cooking.
5. a text exchange with sister in law that left me crying with laughter... can't post as it has sweariness... 😂
Have a great evening all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens11 -
Hugs S Sue
You are doing great things being there Bala
All is okay here, it’s a bit repetitive with cleaning etc sometimes.
1 I was going to be all healthy tonight it’s all in the fridge and ready but that’s now tomorrow, tonight there is a pizza from the freezer to the oven.
2 This is sneaky from yesterday, mowed the lawn and strimmed, it was very long I have been holding off doing it for the wildlife but now it’s falling over, but it looks much better now, and put some seed down on a couple of bad patches, which oddly the woodpecker decided was food??
3 On a clear out and DH has taken time to list a few items on the bay, I’m taking bets on how many “daft” questions arise, I am not a bay fan at all, but it’s a means to an end.
4 The flowers from Aldee now into their 9th day and still perfect, very impressed.
5 I had plans to garden, but the weather had ideas of watering it instead.
6 Property searches, keeping on top of what’s already out there and what comes up, plans for next week here are to finish the skirting gloss for the stairs/landing and hallway, then we can get carpet again.

Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK.
3) Went to the repair cafe and had my curtains repaired. We weren't allowed upstairs but had to socially distance leave our stuff at the bottom.
4) Went to the outdoor cafe over the road while the curtains were being mended and met my sister and niece for a cup of tea.
5) Picked up some trousers from the charity shop that my brother saw the other day and decided he wanted after all.
6) Met a friend in the afternoon for another cup of tea (!)
7) Watched a bit of the FA cup with smaller son.
8) Waiting for Casualty now.8 -
To all the support giving peoples.....
.....Thank you......
Carol, funny you should mention that......Another neighbour of my parent's has 40 plus year old palm trees, a magnificent Magnolia tree, and others. Her garden is full of Parakeets but they never mix with the lunchtime crew. They do visit one of our trees in the front garden. I am positive she feeds them plenty. She has the loveliest mature garden.....I could pitch up a tent and live there !
On a good note. For the first time in a week my father ate yesterday. A small bowl of porrage, a small bowl of soup, half a large strawberry (seriously), 2 blackberry's and a walnut. Although the diabetes is always a major concern I have known all week that it was the pain control that had to be tackled first as he won't eat or drink when in agony. Who would ?
Today I will tackle sugar levels.
My niece has antibiotics and other stuff. Another loved and adored soul to be monitored. Got to keep an eye on my Mum too....
A magnificent day wished to all.....

For yesterday,
A good nights sleep followed by a leisurely breakfast, perfect start to the weekend.
Took a bag of chaff over to the yard, drizzling with rain so new cap was christened. Had a chat with one of the girls about her horsey plans for the future and visited my girlie in her field. She accepted my carrot offering like the queen she is and went back to eating grass.
Had a tidy up of cupboard and a bag filled with stuff for the Hospice shop.
Watched and enjoyed the FA cup, not the greatest of games but good to see Leicester win.
Treat of a takeaway for tea, I had Sweet & Sour Tofu which was tastier than I thought it would be.11 -
Lost a post.
1. Long chat with a friend. We may meet for coffee next week.
2. Photos of another friends son eating some of the food I sent. She is having a really tough year n lots of ways and using afood bank so I did an online shop for them with some different food for them
3. Time in the greenhouse. Potting on seedlings so avoided the rain.
4. Chat with neighbour
5. Great evening - a takeaway with sons and their girlfriends to celebrate birthdays. We all enjoyed ourselves. Good company, good and wine11 -
Morning all
Keep an eye on yourself too, Bala - if you go down then you can't help others
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Having to give myself a good talking to about continuing to draft this paper - it is my choice to do it after all. Literally no-one is making me. it seemed to work
2. A good stomp round the fields and along the sea front. Avoided the showers
3. Online contact with friends and family to keep me sane while i'm by myself.
4. The last 10 minutes of the cup final and then watched the celebrations - the most joyous half hour of TV i've seen for a while. Not a leicester fan but that was amazing to watch.
5. made a vegetable cassoulet for tea - with plenty left over
Have a great day allI wanna be in the room where it happens12 -
This kindle is on a final warning. Today's trick, when I tried to delete a word, was to delete the whole post! Despite me shouting at it and pressing random letters!
So, second attempt.
Actually a nice day here, albeit with a nip in the air.
Bala and Sue - so sorry you had to deal with such poor organisation and thoughtlessness. When the NHS is good, it's very very good, but when it's bad.........
Nice trip to garden centre to meet DD and partner. Us and most of S Yorkshire! I think they should reserve tables for those folks who went regularly in the depths of winter! But we got a table and had a coffee and a natter so that was good.
I watched When Harry met Sally. Never seen it before! I always say all I saw in the 80s was Postman Pat and Rainbow. It's good to catch up 40 years later and I enjoyed it.
House plant sort out day. Every week I put a few more in the garden, still in pots, for their summer holiday.
Talking of holidays, WhatsApp from friends in Spain. 33 degrees there. So jealous! Missing our annual visit to see them.
Happy 🌞day everyone14 -
Hello.Big shift done! Pfft at 11 hours that went on forever and ever! A tad stressy this morning.Beautiful sunrise. Quick doggy walk. Then work.A few tips. Mediocre. But into the jar they went and more than I had there this morning.Did a little photo shoot this afternoon so that came home for tea! Just a baguette. But saved me cooking.
‘Is that rain?’ Asked me. ‘No’ said DD2. That was rain so we dashed quickly into the garden to grab the washing off the line!DD1 should land in Australia in 4.5 hours. Then she has 2 weeks quarantine. Shed a wee tear after I spoke to her this morning to say goodbye. But I’m happy she’s happy to be going back home. The hugest welcome from my doggy! He’d been home alone for a few hours which he really isn’t very often. Muuuuum! I’ve missed you but I need a weeeeee and I need my dinner and I’ve missssssed you oh but I need a wee! We had a lovely cuddle after the wee and after the dinner!Nice chat with friend on phone.13
