My pleasures today all come from walking round nearest lake:
1 tiny fluffy cygnet hitching a ride on mum’s 🦢back.
Goose family with 4 goslings, 1 of which was trying unsuccessfully to jump up onto the swim to join his family 😊
2 families of ducklings 🐥
2 muntjacs jumping and chasing each other across the meadow.
Several coots’ nests and cute cooties.
Mostly ☀️ and getting home before the rain started (again).
Just love seeing all these and having it within walking distance 😘14 -
Wow Paulie, what a fab photo. Actually, it's a lovely treat to see all photos from peoples on here
Dad back in hospital. Has developed chest infection.
My sister turned up out of the blue. Huge pleasure. After Dad was taken away by ambulance I sat on couch and went into deep sleep. I think my sister's presence allowed me to. Been up for a good while, I think she has gone.
onwards and upwards

Good morning
On a lovely bright day.
Paulie - love your pix.
Bala - so glad you slept. Hope today is a peaceful one.
S Sue - hugs. Still here when you need us.
Many pleasures in one. Back at the caravan. All is well ( although the boiler was playing up at first but DH sorted it out.)
Had a lovely sunny walk along the prom. It was very quiet, very few folk about which surprised me.
Lunch in a favourite cafe. Ham and cheese toastie with proper thick cut ham. Big portions so we shared and then shared a piece of homemade choc caramel shortbread.
Walk back in sun. Had been in about 10 mins when there was the most tremendous hailstorm. Very dramatic anyway but sounds much more so in a caravan!
Happy Wednesday everyone12 -
Cracking photos Paulie.
Sending GWS wishes for your Dad Bala.
For yesterday,
The baby robins are out of the nest and one was being fed on the wall of the old well, tiny fluffy thing.Picked up a net of carrots and took them to the yard, the never ending pleasure of the welcoming whinny from my horse when she spots me walking up to her paddock.
We had a hailstorm as well HappyCas, hit us around 4ish and small dog stood up at the windowsill to see what all the noise was about.
Tasty tea of goats cheese and chorizo baked risotto, can’t remember the last time we had rice so welcome change.
Enjoyed a few games of Yahtzee with Capt S.14 -
Morning all
bala - sounds like sleep was what you needed
Loving all the photos
Pleasures for yesterday
1. A yoga session. The last of the Saturday classes but i have several downloaded for future use - i think yoga is going to get quite pricey again so these downloads will help avoid some of that and to do at times when i can't get to the studio. (I currently pay £25 a month for all online, but it's going to go to £75 for unlimited studio and online. There doesn't appear to be an online only option 😪)
2. Also a walk by the sea in the sunshine
3. DS arrived so not talking to myself so much anymore.
4. Watched the end of Calamity Jane
5. Went into a pub for a meal! The pub was empty pretty well and infection rates here are very low so it was as risk free as it could be - and they had the windows and doors open so it was blimmin freezing! Had cod and chips and half a bottle of wine - all of which were later regretted 🤣
Have a great day all - DS and i will be off to do a favourite walk (the precipice walk, Frith).I wanna be in the room where it happens15 -
Paulie, they are the most amazing and relaxing photo’s.
Bala, GWS wishes to your dad, and so glad you could rest and sleep.
1 I tried to fit as much in as possible today, up early and changed our bedding as we got up this morning, with the relevant washing etc. I’m looking forward to that bath and clean sheet feeling.
2 I tidied up my clothes, as over time I gradually deteriorate into my more natural - chuck it in the draw, I will admit tidied there is far more space and I can see what’s there.
3 We have managed to get our grocery to once fortnightly, so organised myself today and from the freezer left over bread cake thing? ham hock, some rolls and I sorted out what’s where in the freezer.
4 I hoovered and mopped downstairs, a pleasure for the day.
5 I found some Christmas hamper ham hock in the freezer, so lunch was ham hock with slaw in a roll, it was lovely, tea is Kiev, rice and greens.
6 Spent 1.99 in total on two Kindle books that have been on my wish list for ages and came up on deal today.
7 Starling babies being fed on the feeder and the woodpecker in near permanent residence. A robin and blue, great and long tailed t!ts, and a teeny tiny wren all helping themselves.

Hello. Beautiful sunset at the moment.
Very bright sun first thing.Down to seaside town to take great nephew out for some birthday cake. He is 2 today.
Quick stop along prom. Smelled like the sea.Quick march back as it started to rain.Nice to borrow him but always nice to return 😆
Home and had a snoozette to recover!Been out in the garden. Popped down to supermarket in town that sells garden ware for some more compost (and a lavender) also topped up on petrol.
Planted pumpkins, courgette seeds ( 2 different varieties), the lavender, 2 lovely marguerites I got in seaside town this morning, I’ve now used all the tubs I was given free the other week. Gave everything a good watering. Including myself, the head of the hose blew off and I was drenched!Very quick FaceTime with DD1 when we were out with the birthday boy.Very quick chat to my own boy this evening.13 -
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Smaller son did a full day at college, including a quick walk around town with a staff member.
3) Hens OK and I cleaned out their sleeping quarters and hacked the clumps of nettles back in their pen.
4) Changed both beds and did 2 loads of washing. Managed (lots of running in and out) to dry both loads on the line.
5) Cleaned the floors downstairs.
6) Posted an Ebay parcel.
7) Linguine for tea with salmon and leeks.
8) Watched the Great British Sewing Be.13 -
Bala it's a well-known fact that banoffee pie eaten standing up has no calories
thanks re. tenure of job - yes i'm sure i'll be fine, just a hiccough
1) dd2 bought me a pair of litter pickers - they are fabulous - filled an old dog food bag on our lunch time walk
2) bangers and mash for tea - comfort food needed due to tough day and cold weather
3) walked dd2 half way to gym so the boys got a walk before putting them in their cubby, quick update with my admin lead then
4) power-walked to the pub to enjoy the match with Dr No, Mr Geography and another friend. A lovely couple i haven't see since lockdown were there too. so nice to have a catch-up - had a legal hug with one of them (the joys of gay friends)
5) Liverpool won 3-0 which is bad news for Leicester but it was a very good game despite the score. After Dr No walked me to the bottom of my road and said he’d book a table for 2 for Sunday and let me know (last games of the season - Mr Geography is going climbing so won't be there). It was a nice evening.
