Watched a seagull coast on an air current for a good 3 minutes. It just went round in circles and as I was watching I had the very distinct feeling that it was enjoying itself. Saw my jackdaw again. It popped in to see if any food was out.....sadly not.
Male and female sparrow clinging to neighbours wall then female squeezed through tiny hole between bricks. Must be babies in there.
Mystery solved. I have had EBV (Mono) virus.
Have a good day

Bala - you know what the problem is and can now deal with it.
Our electricity tripped yesterday so couldn't post- the plugs on the landing which include the pump for the shower doesn't work. Hopefully can be fixed tomorrow.
1. Had a good day and received some lovely birthday presents.
2. A friend treated me to lunch at Costa - tuna panini. It was like normal sitting there and felt normal.
3. Long chat with my sister in the phone. It was good to hear her and quick chat with nephew when she had picked him up from school.
4. Quick chat with neighbour and instructions on looking after chickens.
5. Meal out with DH and my parents. A glass of celebratory champagne and then a good meal. A good time14 -
Happy Belated Birthday VL

Fab photo DD, love love your hair colour.
Belated birthday wishes VL, glad you enjoyed your day.
Good that you have a diagnosis Bala.
For yesterday,
Early morning walk around the garden with a cuppa and spotted that something had been sleeping in the middle of the Nepeta, will set up the trail cam to try and find out what.
Over to the yard and the rain held off while we did some work, my girlie was good and even managed to ignore the scaffolder on a nearby roof!
Planning our first trip to the races in nearly two years, the July meeting Ampersand, stepson and lovely gf are coming too.
Cycled down to the plant nursery in the village and met a friend there so we had an impromptu cup of tea in their cafe.
Watched a couple of episodes of Domina, an interpretation on the history of Rome and concentrating on the female characters, as Capt S remarked it’s like Game of Thrones but in togas!

Vl - more Happy Birthday wishes, if belated🙂⭐, with 🍾. Sounds like an excellent day and really well-deserved. Manager-free, too👍.
1. Another day of bonkers weather. DG, & opted to dry rugby club teatowels, stray other+aprons indoors. They'll be fine by Saturday.
2. Went to The Alma after Tuesday Srufc training+teatowel uplift. So glad I did😃👍. Patron D and & saw each other simultaneously - immediate hugs, instinctive, with masks😇. D insisted on &'s🍷.
& sneaked a rtn ale back, on exit. Watched Exeter Chiefs v. London Irish. Srufc ladies, still sponsored by D+The Alma, turned up post-training, too. All vvvg.😀
3. Next, to NCI, & having determined to call on both friends in the trade, re-opened after so long. Again, so glad I did. & always has commonsense thermos of black green tea on board. Excellent long conversation, mostly🌹politics this time, with this former councillor, another D.🙂👍
4. Mid-day call. Could & step in at Food Hub? Yes - as spread, uncertainty, plus nil confidence in government info. re: latest variant, makes & unwilling to chance Spitalfields/London still. & is a survivor, if little else and Food Hub days bring in many who would otherwise struggle. Stopped gardening, made it there within 40 mins.
5. Blueberries galore - Food Hub leftovers. We were urged to take as many as poss., or they'd have to be thrown! & has 6 to pass on. That'll be after midweek Communion.

Morning all - just
Many happies, VL
Good news re small son and college frith 🤞
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Spending the day with my boy. We did a walk that he doesn't remember ever doing and liked it.
2. The sun shone for most of the day - though 'warm' would be pushing it.
3. Lunch in a cafe in Dolgellau. We were fairly late so it was really quiet. Welsh Rarebit was consumed.
4. So much Welsh Rarebit was consumed (and a very full breakfast for DS) that we didn't want dinner so no cooking.
5. Later on he watched the villa and they won so he was happy.
Have a great day all - a rare excursion on the steam train for me today (i travel bits of the line a lot when volunteering, but rarely the whole line and rarer still is to do it by steam train, we usually have a diesel).I wanna be in the room where it happens11 -
Good afternoon
Some good news then
Bala - glad you have a diagnosis ( though I had to Google!) It says to rest! Are you listening?
Frith - delighted by son's progress at college. Seems like a giant step forward.
Yesterday
A lovely sunny morning so had a nice seaside wander. Lovely to sit out in the warm sun and watch the waves.
Afternoon showery so lazed around reading.
Tea was a pie from the excellent market stall. Supposed to be individual ones but they're huge so we shared one.
Finally set up tv properly so we can now get Netflix etc.
Today
Not raining but tis cold.
Went to local hall/ gardens and renewed our annual membership. Coffee and cake, wandered round the mini zoo and checked out the walled garden ( one of my favourite places! DH says I say that about a lot of places. Is that a bad thing?) But it was cold!
So now back inside.
We've booked to go to a nearby restaurant for tea. First meal out in I don't know how long!
Happy chilly Thursday everyone

Happycas, don't know if you count this as resting but Dad called me 10 to 5 this morning. Waited until 6 and called the ward. Waited until my nieces went to school....and then passed out on sofa till 12.30 !
Was explaining to my Mum about my first close-up sighting of a Jackdaw as she was putting food out for the birds. As she turned to listen to me 2 swooped in and grabbed whatever food they could. Speedily. They don't linger like my long lost Flo.
VJ....love trains, even modern ones......
Calamity Jane, still one of my favourite musicals, know all the songs.
Hugs to all

Thank you for the kind comments on my photos, so I hope you don’t mind me posting more😊 at least I’ve found a way of doing 4 in 1!
- These are from another local spot , Forty Hall, which is the venue for Antiques Road show this Sunday. I went yesterday with my sister and we were lucky with some sunshine and some lovely sights including the goose family in a train. She hadn’t been since we were children and loved it there. Afterwards we went to the garden centre opposite and I bought her a very belated birthday present of a jasmine and I bought myself a honeysuckle. It was a lovely day 😊
- In the evening 2 of my friends came round for a takeaway Chinese which we haven’t done since last Summer! Plenty of food, chat, wine and memories shared.
- Today was OHs day off and we finally got our brunch at local cafe as weather stayed dry if a little gloomy, as we would still prefer to sit outside. Have a good night everyone.
- Sorry about the bullet points and the large brunch photo 😊

Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Smaller son refused to go to college but it did mean his social worker could see him in a last minute visit. (See and not speak to him, as he took to his bed and refused to do that!) She's very sensible and pleasant, but starting a new job next week. After a billion years, an OT will be meeting him next week.
2) Went out with a friend for a cup of tea this morning. First time we had met up this year. Went to the new coffee shop in Next then felt sorry for our normal Dunelm coffee shop (next door) so had a cup of tea there as well.
3) Popped to Lidl.
4) Hens OK.
5) Picked my niece up from school as my sister was doing some training. An absolute monsoon as I got out of the car - the sort of rain that bounces off the ground and gets your trousers wet even if you have a big umbrella. Had to empty her book bag out to dry once back. She had found a clay pipe bowl so we spent some time investigating the date and the maker and I taught her how to draw archaeological things. I knew that would come in useful one day!
6) Took smaller son to Tesco (his new favourite place).
7) In bed with 2 hot water bottles and the lanterns lit as there is a ridiculous storm outside. Waiting for Taskmaster then Mock the Week.10
