Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK.
3) Went to my aunty's house for more clearing out. Found some pre-war photos of my uncle and his dog tags from the war. Took boxes and boxes to the charity shop (in a hail storm).
4) Cheating pizzas and ready made salads for tea.
5) Have sat and watched television all evening.13 -
Evening all
DD, that is such a pretty bandstand.
Five. recent pleasures:
1. Got eleven organic soups (lunches) - two different ones - and ten organic main courses (suppers) - two different ones - batch cooked and frozen yesterday.
2. Tried doing my paid work today with an online Pomodoro timer set in the background (25 mins work, 5 mins break) to make myself rest my eyes from so much screen time and was much more productive. Will continue with this, it helps.
3. Strung up battery powered fairy lights along the top of my bedroom bookshelves - I decided that I deserved their cheering-upness even though it's nowhere near Christmas!
4. Jammy toast mid afternoon.
5. Started a new audiobook.
Sweet dreams

1. Back to work - a long chat with a colleague whose job has suddenly changed as his line management of 5 people had been taken away from him. He h as come to terms with it but shocked with speed it happened.
2. Tenants in MIL house want to stay for another year which is good.
3. DS1 called round briefly as he wanted painkillers. He pulled something in his back. He was in a good mood though.
4. Roast chicken for tea. It was good especially the gravy.
5. Spoke with someone about eyes again. She is very interested in them and wants to know very specific facts.12 -
For yesterday,
Food shopping and a very dapper old chap in tweeds asked if I knew where the tinned prunes were as I clearly knew what I was doing, wasn’t really sure how to take that but pointed him in the right direction, made me smile 😊
A day of sunshine and showers, great for the garden.
Parcel arrived from World of Books, lovely.
At the yard, pony was filthy so got a good arm work out getting her clean, swear she wishes she was a bay, know I do at times! As the norm at the moment, the evening was best part of day so glass of wine in the garden and a catch up on each other’s day.13 -

Broomstick - i find a pomodoro helpful too, especially if i'm struggling to start something. I don't always remember to do it though so thanks for the reminder.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. After a fitful night (awake at 1, 3, 5 and then finally 7), i did at least get a full 8 hours..
2. Finished my on-time submissions marking - lots with extensions though
3. washing hung out - got rained on (copiously at one point) but still came in mostly dry
4. lots of episodes of mad men season 3 as i had the house to myself.
5. made a restart on my paper - finally!
Have good days all.I wanna be in the room where it happens13 -
Hello
Yesterday we had the brightest, most perfect rainbow ever, which then turned into a double one! We have a rather worrying time imminent in the family so I chose to see it as a good omen.
D Doll - hoop class in bandstand. How amazing is that!
Bala - I hope your results were good ones. Post pandemic anxiety really does seem to be ' a thing'.
S Sue - hoping arrangements are running smoothly. And that you are feeling supported in real life as well as here x
In supermarkets people generally ask me to reach things on the top shelf for them!
It's mild and sunny now but our Look North weatherman says this afternoon the weather will be interesting! I don't think he means in a good way!
Supermarket this morning. Either we're buying more or prices are rising. Perhaps a bit of both. I keep thinking that but haven't yet bothered to check.
Started watching The Highwaymen with Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson. V good so far. Also a new-to-me series of Gray's Anatomy has appeared on Prime. Trying not to binge watch. Fortunately DH doesn't like it so that cuts down my viewing time.
Need to find a new sewing/knitting project. The devil finds work etc...
Happy Tuesday everyone14 -

Oooft it’s late & alarm set for 5am. Lashing with rain just now but has been a pleasant evening..
Worky work done ( well the big days) there were some tips ( not as exciting as yesterday though!)
DD1 called to say she was out a walk . She wasn’t. She was waiting to boo me! One more day to boo.
Had another leftover baked potato & salad from work for tea whilst chatting to my sister. Mum has been in hospital past week but got home today.
Picked some flowers and popped down to leave them for a friend.
First rhubarb picked.
Walked over the fields as the sun was setting.
Chat to friend on phone.15 -
1. Some lovely patients at work.
2. Free lunch at work.
3. DS1 called round to collect his birthday presents. His back is much better. I think it was a strained muscle. Long chat with him.
4. Neighbours called round - could they borrow the phone as had locked themselves out . They wanted to phone their son who has a key. Son had just put his baby to bed and wife was out. In the end I went to collect the key with DS1. Much laughter and joking with them.
5. A glass of wine in the garden with DH.
6. Made A chicken pie for tea which was good and one for the freezer which is even better.14
