Good afternoon
An extra hello to absent friends, whether an enforced absence or voluntary. I hope you're all well.
Purple kitten - I have been dieting ever since I saw Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady, 50? years ago. Which is ridiculous as she is a totally different build from me. But then, think if I hadn't been dieting!! I'd be much bigger by now!!
A beautiful Easter Sunday here. DH watches the weather forecast religiously and believes it implicitly, even though, as this weekend, it's often hopelessly wrong! I tend to wait and look out of the window!
Finished off DGD patchwork cushion for her. She made the patchwork front and for a first attempt, it's very good. She's very pleased with herself!
Pork with lots of veg today. No chocolate eggs but do still have choc cake.
DSM!
Nothing spoiling today so will have a lazy afternoon.
Happy Easter day everyone10 -

Hello. I’m struggling to stay awake! Been a loooong day. The pleasure I suppose is it’s done! Went well.
Got a wee extra bonus which bought us a very nice dinner for tea that did not involve me cooking. That’s about it for today.Hope you’re all having a lovely day.11 -
1 Hmm I may have bought 2 dresses in a sale and via quidco.
2 Brekkie was a grilled BLT, another favourite. I cooked up the Easter pork roast joint which was very tasty.
3 Had a very disappointing easter egg, actually gave up on it and had a scone and cream instead.
4 The water butt sprang a leak, which lead to a whole host of garden things being done.
5 We saw some amazing butterflies come throu the garden, a peacock basking in the sun, an admiral and a beautiful yellow one.

Pleasures for Easter Sunday:
OH off out to work at the crack of dawn so I had a lie in 😊
The sunshine made me want to go out so I drove to our local Abbey gardens and had a walk around. The blossom was beautiful and it was lovely to see families and a few groups of friends enjoying the weather ☀️
Back home and after preparing the veg for dinner I sat out in the sun listening to Harry Redknap podcast with Rod Stewart and then some music.
As it was a “special “ day we had a glass of fizz 🥂 and I watched the blue tits busy in and out of the bird box and the red kite soaring above, these things make me happy.
Watched the boat race and then we had dinner (lamb shanks) in the garden with a couple of glasses of red wine 🍷
Tea and millionaires cheesecake while watching Countryfile, a pretty good day 😊

ooh Paulie, I love a red kite.
Pleasures for the last few
1. The house is clean and the garden is weeded
2. Some nice local walks - hopefully soon we can go further afield but i hope we continue with these walks sometimes now that we've found them
3. Nice food - roast beef yesterday and lunch in the garden in the sunshine
4. Two family film nights - saving Private Ryan and Ricki and the Flash. Very different from each other.
5. Washing dried on the line
6. Made a gingerbread cake - it's a Nigella recipe and is stunning.
7. Easter eggs - MiL bought one for OH and I to share (we asked for one only).
8. The Villa won - eventually.
Have a lovely bank holiday y'all - let's hope this is the last week of full lockdown.I wanna be in the room where it happens9 -
1. Went round a local National trust garden. It was warm and sunny. The garden was relatively small as far as the national trust goes but had some lovely trees and the magnolia trees looked superb.
2. Long chat with neighbour as we were standing in the sun.
3. Some more gardening done more weeding but areas look clearer. Some Hawthorne bushes were pruned.
4. Enjoyed Easter eggs - all dark chocolate.
5. Clean sheets and bed made well before bed time.10 -
For yesterday,
Bit of a slow start as I had a rough night, coffee and bacon butties helped.
Good morning spent in the garden, jobs done and plans made to change things around which gave me a chance to write a list of plants needed, oh and a tree heather is now on back order.
Tasty lunch, just the two of us so pushed the boat out with Cote de Boeuf, followed by Tiramisu, wine also may have been drunk so much lounging around after that.
Stirred our stumps eventually and took small dog for a walk around the fields, no red kites Paulie but there was a pair of buzzards flying high above us.
Crumpets for tea and the watchable silliness that is Midsomer Murders, a good day.10 -
Yesterday...
Son took a bus trip to the beach with his girlfriend so I had the place to myself all day.
Special dog walk through woods, over fields, by the river and by a little stream. Dog in her element. Even met a couple of dogs to run around with. A few people about but still fairly quiet.
Natter with dad on phone, he gets his second Covid jab this coming Friday.
As it was just me I ate nothing but crap all day. Tinned soup, toast, lots of savoury crackers, crisps, biscuits, Easter chocolate. I did redeem myself with an apple and a bit of yoghurt. Back on the healthy eating today.
Lounging outside in the sunshine.
Watering (using rainwater from the barrel) all plants in pots and noticing the blossom starting to show on my little apple and plum trees.
Practising Choir songs.
A glass of homemade orange brandy whilst watching the American version of Sing On.One life - your life - live it!12
