Morning all - quiet here of late.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Cracking on with writing my paper
2. A walk with DS in the arboretum
3. Salmon for tea
4. OH went to visit MiL for the first time since December. His sister met him off the train and did the hour's walk with him so they could catch up. My pleasure is his pleasure IYSWIM
5. Family film night. DS's choice of "Ralph Breaks the Internet". Not a film i'd ever choose for myself, don't need to see it again but was thoroughly enjoyable.
Bonus from the bank
My newly-discovered second cousin sent me an obituary of one of our common (very) ancestors, part of which read "There was much in Hurley to admire forgetting of course, his faults" - hilarious. I aspire to have that written about me 🤣
Have a great day all.I wanna be in the room where it happens10 -
1. A day at work. Went well - at different site and an trying very hard to be positive. I have set myself a target of another 16 months before I leave. DH will semi retire then so I will stop. It does focus the mind on the spending as I will need to save more to do it.
2. Went shopping and did but Easter stuff but spent less than in previous years.
3. RTC pizza for tea with home grown salad and shared with DH.
4. Enjoying my book.
5. An early night12 -
Ha, love that obituary VJSMum 😄
For yesterday,
Still sunny at times but bbrr the temperature had halved overnight and the wind was keen, oh well back in jeans & jumpers for a while then.
Did a few chores to make house ready for long weekend, made a loaf and roasted some pecans & cashews for the snack jar.
Went to see pony, bit of light work over poles and some carrot stretches, nice chat with yard owner, fellow livery owner and then with yard owners Mum.
Quick catch up with DB in garden, we both got a little teary about no hugs for over a year but agreed when both have had second dose of vaccine we would hug for England. My pal also phoned ( the one who lost her horse recently ) and we arranged a walking / coffee kind of catch up for next week.12 -
Good morning all, pleasures for yesterday...
Last day of cleaning. Hopefully for good but definitely for a while. Someone is beginning to take the proverbial so it's stoppng.
The HT's partner is staying for a while so an extra pair of hands is available to catch up wth the housework.
I made home made hobnobs, yum.
Food shopping done. I also collected a pressure washer and new hosepipe from @rgos. I borrowed my next door neighbours pressure washer last year but I felt like buying my own was the grown up thing to do for this year.
My garden is looking better now I've cut the grass. The garden will be an ongoing project for the Easter weekend although I'm working on Saturday.
Take care all of youExtra hugs to you SSue

Good afternoon
Very chilly. Gone from sitting in the garden in a summer vest on Wednesday to wearing a summer vest under my jumper and coat to go out today!
Market this morning for meat and fruit/ veg. Much busier than any Friday since before Christmas. Didn't go to Boots as planned but came straight home.
Good vaccine news here. DD and DS ( age 40 and 38) both booked in and DH booked for second dose. All very positive.
Fish and chips for lunch yesterday. Thought it would be too busy today!
Meat pie and lots of fresh veg for tea. Not very traditional for Good Friday but will be lovely I'm sure.
Happy Good Friday everyone9 -
Hello. Should be sleeping as up in a couple of hours!Busy day where I may have met myself coming backwards!Up early. Out with doggy for a very frosty walk.In at work for 6am-10am. Then quick supermarket run. Then home. Then very quick doggy walk .
Round to mums.Back in to supermarket to buy some things for a hamper for DD2 friend. Then home and made new lawnmower and cut grass. Then pottered around doing this and that. Then back to work to prep for tomorrow.
Then home and quick doggy walk.
Then walked up to boss’ to pick up some things for tomorrow. It’s been a lovely day and a lovely evening.
Then chat to friend on phone .
Then DD1 arrived home .Made her favourite macaroni. Though didn’t have very much cheese as we don’t really eat much cheese!Quick chat with her and then another with boss about our HUUUUUGE Easter weekend. Then have been messaging someone who’s going to pick up chairs I’d got free from work but didn’t really need. So she’s delighted to be getting them and I’m delighted she’s taking them.Night!10 -
Bala, we took little Sherbert, being deaf she tends to go where we go. It opens up lots of conversations with interested people.
For yesterday
1 Cleaned the house and spent time cleaning up the lounge.
2 Ordered in some ferret treats, and had enough points to order them an extra packet and a toy free.
3 Fish, rice and veg, sounds very healthy but there have been various bad snacks all day, a big pastry, a tea cake and theres choc chip cookies. I did say bad, but tasty.
4 Remembered to get a meat joint out to defrost for Sunday.
For today
1 Not sure this is a pleasure, the plan was I would sort the oven to clean while I then gardened, but in taking it apart I noticed things between the oven glass, so dh took it apart and then a few things broke, thankfully DH manufactured the parts to mend it but then doing that and cleaning the door itself took all afternoon in its own right oven is still cleaning as I type.
2 I sorted out the gas and lecy, latest readings and paid the extra we owed, we’ve had the heating on a lot with both of us needing ops and feeling the cold at the mo.
3 Really pleased my late dad’s plant has established and grown back in the front garden.
4 Cleaning bits done and looking forward to not doing any cleaning for just a day or 2, heres hoping.
5 Trying to resist snacking by typing instead, it will be a pleasure if it works! A whole new diet in its own right, I was almost tempted by diet pills earlier but talked myself out of it.

Friday pleasures:
OH started Summer working time, so out of the house at 5, I managed to doze 💤 off.
Walk with my sister, had to go to find her as she ended up at another part of the river 🤣
Chilly walk but lots of steps done and we spotted a heron.
Stopped and bought fresh tiger bread, hot cross buns and chocolate on the way home, so a nice treaty lunch when I got in.
So tired after my jab so OH got takeaway kebabs for dinner 😊
In bed before 9 💤
Have a lovely Easter weekend 🐣😘10 -
For yesterday,
A Good Friday treat of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon for breakfast.
Worked outside, Capt S cut the grass ( cue much sneezing and back into the cottage for hay fever tab ) and I hoovered out my car. Meanwhile the birds all did their thing and Squirrel Nutkin lived up to his name by attacking the peanut feeder.
Listened to the footie on the radio, another 3 points for United.
Late afternoon stroll with beloved and small dog, the hedgerows are bursting into blossom which distracted me somewhat from the biting cold wind, bbbrrr.
Home and a warming cup of tea with a Hot X Bun, caught up on this week’s LOD.8
