Hello. Workety work big days done. An 8am start? Don’t mind if I do! It’s been a while, crocodile! And a 4.30pm finish? Oooft! Spoiled!Getting in to a pair of jeans I’ve not been able to for a while...and they’re cropped ones as it’s spring! I do like cropped jeans.Nice walk with my doggy first thing.Walked to work ( and home again)
A good day at work. Good company, laughter and chatter. And tips.Lovely walk home. Such a difference now it’s light.Chatting with DD2 and my doggy was pleased to see me. Me also to see him.Just brought washing in, just a wee bit damp still.
At the moment there is no need to set the alarm...13 -
Welcome, oole.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. A(nother) walk - a different local circuit. One we've not done before. i even took off my coat it was so bright, warm and sunny.
2. Washing hung out and partially dried.
3. yoga
4. lunch in the conservatory
5. watched A Star Is Born with DD - good stuff and i mostly stayed awake!
And today
1. A(nother) walk - this time i met my friend in the park so it was great to talk to someone that i'm not related to!
2. A good night's sleep. I spent the night in the spare room as OH went to bed before me and was snoring his head off when i arrived.
3. An excellent zoom meeting with former supervisors. Next step is publication and they've pointed me in a direction. Hope it's the right one.
4. Autumn veg casserole for tea - tasty and 3 portions left.
5. About to watch last night's LoD.
Have a good evening all.I wanna be in the room where it happens14 -
Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK,
3) Took 6 eggs to my neighbour.
4) Lost 5lbs (35lbs in total).
5) A tasty tea.
In other news, smaller son is still not going to college so I thought it was about time I raised this with a few people plus his ongoing behaviour/violence/the fact he will soon be 18 and literally no plans have been made for his future. So I tried the County Council, college and (for the first time ever) Social Services. I tried to rein in my cynicism as much as I could. Bear in mind smaller son is autistic and can only have a conversation with me and his brother. Even my parents have waited 17 years for him to talk to them.
County Council (who have always been utterly abysmal) surprised me by sending 2 polite emails saying they will look into amending his EHCP as soon as they can.
Social Services said I can "ask my friends for help" (in a lockdown!) and my getting pushed over, shouted and sworn at, unable to work and smaller son having no education or future is "not meeting their threshold".
College said they will "chat to him tomorrow" (a child who cannot chat and who doubtless won't attend tomorrow) and then they emailed me another GCSE past paper. Well, thank you so much. I decided I would not be booted out of my own living room this evening so sat on the sofa to watch Midlands Today for which I was called a "piece of s**t" continually for half an hour.
Happy days.13 -
Frith, you might want to look at the website of nationaldahelpline.org.uk. He may be your son but as you say, he will be 18 soon and a grown man, regardless of the age of his mind. You cannot tolerate violent behaviour in your home, even from your child. He could one day cause you a serious injury, then you'll definitely be in no position to care for him. Social Services may currently seem as useful as a chocolate fireguard, but even they should have some sort of crisis line you can phone for advice.
Now, where have I met Oole before?😎One life - your life - live it!13 -
oh frith do get some advice (i know you will)
oole nargleblast? never met him before occifer ;-)
1) having bought 2 more bird feeders (i now have 4 different types of seed feeder, fat ball and peanuts) the birds are giving me a good run for my money. Today i had my first goldfinches as well as bullfinches (they arrived yesterday), robins, great tits, blue tits and pigeons. haven't seen the magpies today.
2) lunch time i found ideal sized boxes and dd2 wrapped easter treats for dd1 and partner, ds and dad
3) then we walked down to the post office in the sunshine
4) back for hm soup and a toastie (last of the xmas marmalade)
5) workety work but did take an hour out and made a lish risotto. annd finally finished at 10. now listening to classicfm - first Vaughan Williams themes on talis and now Faure dolly suite - one of my faves cos of course I am old enough to remember LIsten with mother.

Monday pleasures:
Roused myself earlyish and managed to get my mess of a hair coloured before
I met my friend in the park
She’s my oldest friend (as in known longest, 52 years) and I haven’t seen her for at least 4 months 😊. So lovely to see her and her dog.
It was a bright ☀️ morning with beautiful blue sky and daffodils and blossom everywhere, makes me happy 😊
We had lunch sitting on a bench, I had a very tasty bacon and Brie panini with cranberry sauce 😋. It’s very difficult eating with a greedy dog 🐶 right next to you 🤣
Home to dry washing.
Iceland delivery so spicy 🌶 meatballs for dinner.
Have a great day 😘
Frith, I hope things can get a little easier for you 😘12 -

For yesterday, although all days are melting into one.
Bit of housework then over to the yard, my car could drive it by himself.
Some Liberty work will my girlie although her attention was easily diverted by the shetlands doing zoomies in their field.
Made a loaf for the week and stripped the chicken carcass, small dog enjoyed her share.
Tied up the Montana clematis that grows up the side of the shed.
Downloaded new series of GW, hello Monty and all, then watched Uni Challenge followed by Unforgotten.

It was an original Thorpe, with Itterby and Thrunscoe! That is where Oole comes from!
I see checking the vergers in the Parish nothing changes!
New dishwasher fitted yesterday, though I have kept the '67 model.
Working from home again, so tea is being made and a biscuit or two!
Have seen a lot on the tv recently, including a few operas and films. Saw Dirty Harry last night! Operas included Cosi fan. Cosi fan tutte was set in 50's Coney Island was watched over two nights! It will be a while before I get there again! On the app there is a free section weekly, so do not miss out!
Had mushroom stroganoff last night for dinner. Very tasty with a dish for tomorrow! On the BBQ on Saturday, we had homemade chicken tikka, very tender and good.
Must get on with my work, and the cricket is in the background!
