Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Got most jobs done round the house this morning.
3) My brother gave me a rabbit, which went into a casserole this evening, and some leeks. Mum and dad had their second vaccinations today.
4) Hens OK.
5) Managed to get smaller son to the dentist. He has decided he won't need sedation for treatment after all... we had 15 minutes in the waiting room where he chanted "Time to die" repeatedly, which was nice. The people sitting opposite us were a young woman with learning difficulties and her dad, who was almost sitting on her to keep her on her chair, so we didn't have to explain ourselves. We made it upstairs and he sat on the chair, but bolt upright. Eventually, he lay back (sort of) then the dentist tipped the chair back and the exclaimed 4 letter word from himself I think probably echoed around the town! We all ignored that. He even had x rays done. Back next Friday for the long awaited filling. As we left, the clear as a bell voice rang out again. "SHE'S SO SMALL!" Well, this is true. This is the dentist who has seen bigger son 6 times since he fell off his bike onto his teeth. I hope she's had a relaxing evening.
6) Collected bigger son from work where 2 different companies have asked him if he will go and work for them. He's sticking where he is as he's very happy.
7) Had rabbit casserole with a few chips from the van.12 -

Friday pleasures
Sunshine all day & very warm in the sun ☀️
DH took DSis to MrS - so I had the house to myself 🙂
Did a few little jobs including descaling the kettle, refilling liquid soap dispensers, topping up various dried goods containers, paying CC bill & vacuuming.
Hm soup zizzed & taste tested - has a nice kick 😉
Dinner was sausage, mash & plum tomatoes for DH & DSis. Lo pasta Bolognese for me.Be Kind. Stay Safe. Break the Chain. Save Lives. ⭐️2025 Savings Pot Challenge: As a monthly amount, running total = £299.00

Good job you had pheasant food in, PK
Fab photos both.
Frith - you're amazing.
Pleasures from a very frustrating yesterday (as the broken shower could not be mended as OH wasn't here to fiddle with the stop tap and i can't do it. He arranged the man to come and replace but then bu88ered off knowing that i can't deal with turning the water off. And then a student didn't turn up AGAIN for the third time for a teams meeting).
1. Click and collect collected - the pleasure is that i'm not doing it again. My vaccine will be getting on for three weeks old next time and i shall go INTO A SHOP although very early in the morning.
2. Made leek and potato soup
3. Went for a walk around the (National Memorial) arboretum. Just love it there. I love trees, i can 'feel' their strength. I've said it before but i can't think of a better way to commemorate the dead than with something living.
4. Leftover curries for tea.
5. Family film night. DD's choice of Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile (about serial killer Ted Bundy). Also made me laugh because a facebook post i read afterwards said "The name of your (private part) is the last thing you watched! 🤣
Have a great day all.I wanna be in the room where it happens14 -
Just lost a post.
1. Picked daffodils from the garden and they look lovely in a vase.
2. Went to Community fridge. Had a chat with people there.
3. Phoned my parents. They were going for a walk but had a chat.
4. Met my friend who I'm in a bubble with. I picked her up from walk and had a coffee with her at her house.
5. Oestopath appointment. Bliss - feel so much better.
6. Chat with my sister.
7. DS1 collected hair clippers on his way home from work. Also gave him eggs, wild garlic and mussels.12 -
Smashing photo Paulie.
For yesterday,
We had sunshine and lots of it, really lifts the spirits.
Mushrooms on rye toast for breakfast.
Time spent with the beautiful grey one, my knee is still painful so only did walk work but it’s just being with her that counts.
A half and hour snooze in the afternoon, one minute I was reading my book, next minute small dog jumped on my lap and woke me up!
Let her out for last constitution of the day and a roe deer was barking somewhere in the field, her small scared bark back was quite funny but admired her spirit ☺️

Warm sunny day - hooray
PK - a tame pheasant. How lovely!
Paulie - beautiful picture. Thank you
Frith - great to hear that bigger son is much in demand. A real boost for him( and you)
Met DD in park. A Saturday regular now. Warm enough to sit on a bench without shivering. Not too many people about. Lots of very pretty spring flowers though.
Began making a little bird from Liberty fat quarters scraps. Looking good so far.
Very sneezy/wheezy. I love spring but it's always the worst time of year for my allergies. Definitely not staying indoors though!
Chicken kebabs and wedges for tea. And maybe a mini prosecco.
Happy 🌞Saturday everyone12 -
Hello. Not quite bedtime but will be another early night methinks.
Up early for work. Oooft when the alarm went off.Home and had a snoozette whilst sitting upright!More painting of ye olde wooden fence. Two panels done ( about 4 million still to do)Had to wait in all blooming day for a delivery. Came just before I was having to head back in to work. My new garden table. Huuuge! 1) Read 'a whole life' while having a lovely soak in the bath with half a lush bath bomb
2) gbf came round to walk the dogs - we did the woozle hunt walk which is currently my fave
3) stopped half way for a cuppa from the Bridgeview (currently open for takeaway only) sat looking out over the river
4) after lunch went to B&Q with mum - who would have thought going to B&Q would be such a treat - i bought 2 more bird feeders and some bulbs
5) then tesco - I have discovered the 3 cheeses for a fiver section at the end of the deli and am exploring some very tasty ones - one of today's was Lucifer which was a mild blue cheese with something hot inMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
