Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK.
3) An interesting parcel arrived. And the magazine from the Centre for Alternative Technology!
4) Did lots of cooking then flapjacks for smaller son.
5) Bigger son has been offered another job! He will stick with his apprenticeship, but nice to have been asked.
6) Watched Taskmaster.13 -
1. Work ok. Now off til Tuesday.
2. Text conversation with a friend. Pencilled in a date to meet but will be weather dependant as obviously it is outside.
3. Made soup for tea. A new recipe but tasty and easy to do.
4. DS1 phoned so a long chat.
5. At lunchtime the discussion somehow came round to Prince Philip's mother. She had a very interesting life and I was surprised I didn't know more about it.12 -
Thursday pleasures:
OH had his jab in next town. I took him and while he was having it I went into M&S to get us a picnic lunch and some sausages for dinner.
Only second time in M& S for over a year!
It was raining 🌧 so we had picnic at home!
I’ve hopefully got my jab at a hospital next week if the doctor there says it’s ok 👍
We spent most of the afternoon catching up on Bloodlands, 1 episode to go, hope it’s worth it!
Said sausages, leek and mash and veg for dinner - very tasty 😋
Happy Friday one and all 😘

Good morning all, pleasures for yesterday....
Aching legs from gardening on Wednesday. I chopped down a lot of ivy and conifers, both growing over my fence from different gardens and I did a lot of weeding. I found some unexpected flowers whilst gardening (tete-a-tete, my favourites). Something has eaten the primrose flowers though.
Dentist visit. I've known my dentist a long time, we always have a good laugh and it's been a while between visits this time. He managed to do the filling that I needed without numbing or water spray so all good.
Over to my friend's house. We went to look at a possible house which she insisted would be OK but I said was too small. It was too small and the location of the garage was a bit strange so that's crossed off the list. The pleasure was being outside instead of indoors cleaning.
I took the HT to see my best friend after school (still at friend's house above) as I thought best friend needed cheering up. As a single parent we are still one bubble with friend and sister. A bit of chat and laughter ensued.
Watching tv with the HT after my bath. The cat came too - she likes it when we're all in the same place and she can snuggle down with us. We were both shouted at first for being out during the day. How dare we leave her alone!
Take care all of you

For yesterday,
Rainy day so most stuff achieved indoors although I did get out to the farm shop for a few bits.
Changed the decorations on the mantlepiece to hares, bunnies and eggs in celebration of Ostara which is this weekend, also changed the wreath on front door.
Big bowl of feta salad for lunch.
Settled down to watch downloaded film, I got life! which was French with subtitles, good fun.
Capt S said he would do the last dog walk of the day as chucking it down, meanwhile I made our tea, salmon burgers with stuffed peppers.14 -
Art'noon all - twiddling my thumbs waiting to log into a teams meeting with a student. He's already bailed twice so we'll see if he turns up this time.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. DS's birthday.. 22! How did that happen?
2. We went for a longish walk during which we had lunch out! Only a takeaway cafe but we could eat it on some picnic tables. Made for quite the treat - although i know it isn't really allowed.
3. Back home for pressies and a caterpillar cake - to his delight. Pressies seem to have been received well. THough he ruined my elaborately arranged 'basket of chocolate bars' by turning it upside down before unwrapping it. 🙄
4. Watched Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets that DS chose and Eminem "8 Mile" later that he also chose. Two very different films 🤣
5. Kids had takeaway pizza but we don't like pizza hut so we made our own sourdough veggie pizza.
Have a great afternoon.I wanna be in the room where it happens14 -
1 Turned my playlist up loud and tidied up the kitchen and set to making a curry, our little deaf girl ferret, Sherbert likes to help with everything, so she had a fair bit of chicken, helping you understand. I left it all simmering while the turmeric rice cooked through and I watched naff tv for a half hour and voila all done and dished up, yeah right, the rice “caught”, I managed to catch the ladle and spill it over the cabinets and floor. Hey ho so dinner with cussing was served.
2 We appear to have a pheasant in the garden for the past few days now, he came up to the door and asked for food today, so we fed him, and it made little chortling noises while eating I am assuming means content maybe?
3 I am managing to run down one of the freezers but still a few things to get through before it can be passed back for animal food.
4 Groceries due at 9pm it feels like an odd time of day for it, looking forward to fresh cranberry bread and salted caramel hot cross buns.

Hello, bedtime for me. Alarm set for 4am! Oooft! So much catering to do tomorrow ( and oooft even more on Sunday)
Up early. Out quick walk with doggy. Slightest hint of daylight in the distance. We’d had a frost overnight so had to defrost car. When it gets a bit lighter earlier I’ll probably walk but don’t like going the shortcut over a field in the dark .Work done. Loads of hours this week.Home and first washing out . Left hand side fence painted. And raised beds have had first coat. The bit I detest has been started. Just going to do a panel at a time and get there slowly but surely. Well I detest it all really but the right hand side is a !!!!!! to paint.Lots of seeds peeking through . Far too cold overnight to put in greenhouse. So on the windowsill they stay.
Round to mums. Sorted out some paperwork for her. Did a bit of pruning. Was such a lovely day. She’s very badly bruised from her fall.Back out in my own garden and painting painting painting. Had a snoozette.Messaged friend with a do you want to come and sit in my garden after work? ( allowed since last week) so we sat and watched the sun go down. Wrapped in fleecy blankets getting bitten by midges!Doggy was delighted to have company! ( as was I)
Very quick doggy walk.14 -
Friday pleasures:
Met my sister for a river walk today. Half way between our towns so only about 15 minutes drive for both of us. I haven’t seen her since doorstep Christmas delivery.
It was a beautiful sunny ☀️ morning and a walk at a different place with different company did us both good 😊
Lots to see with lovely riverside flats converted from old flour mills and maltings, lots of house boats and some ducks 🦆 and geese, just my sort of walk.
Hung my washing out before I went out and hurrah 😃 it didn’t rain on it for the first time this week!
Friday night takeaway was fish and chips, I like this new tradition!
Night all 💤 😘12 -
