Yesterday’s post hasn’t posted! I think it was:
Monday’s sunnyish weather soon turned into downpours so longish walk didn’t happen . Friend and I went to 2 garden centres instead,
i was shocked at the price of plants so I came away with a birthday card for OH 🤣
Friend bought a very small hebe for £7.99. I’ve got two huge ones in the garden so I think I’ll look into taking cuttings!
The rain eased up for long enough for us to have a baguette for lunch sitting on a bench by the river 😊
I had to wrangle very wet washing, mostly king size bedding, when I got home, as I had optimistically hung it out think we were only due a light shower.
Enjoyed watching Grace on tv, thought the adaptation was well done.
Yesterday I went up to 90 year old neighbour’s to arrange the flowers 💐 that had arrived as a belated mother’s day gift.
Tasty pork stir fry for dinner last night.
Wishing you all a good Wednesday 😘

1. Neighbour has moved out. I am so pleased. As a parting gift I think he threw apples into my garden.
2. I introduced myself to my new neighbour and he seems normal. The garden looks better already with plants in pots out in there.
3. Work happened - ok day
4. DH painted bits of the ceiling that he had missed.
5. Feeling relaxed.13 -
1) another beautiful sunny day
2) after my last morning meeting went for a walk with dd2 - the council have done lots of tree management, including clearing the river-side of the railway which has made a lovely new walkway - the bits of tree that had grown in and sometimes totally engulfed the chain fence made me smile
3) increasing number of birds coming to my rowan tree larder - one meeting a colleague showed off his bird mug, confessing to being a twitcher. he has recommended i also get in some niger seeds for finches and sunflower seeds. He also lives near mum so I asked if next time he and his wife go bird watching if i could tag along. this is definitely a benefit of long hours in my office which overlooks the back garden
4) Scotand's plan for coming out of lockdown has been brought forward. Now eagerly awaiting hair appointment and the garden centres reopening (from 5th April), inviting our prospective provost to take morning prayers (27th March) and being able to leave my council area (26th April) - have only been outwith Dundee once since November (Feb to take son back to Aberdeen, complete with letter from his boss to say my journey was necessary for his work)!
5) Luton winning 2-0, taking us back to 13th, 15 points from relegation, 14 points from the play-offs. Reckon 3 more points and we'll be safe, don't entertain thoughts of us getting to the play-offs

All your birds sound wonderful DD seconded on the Niger seeds for finches, we get goldfinches on ours, such pretty little birds.
For yesterday,
Listening to a podcast about certain foods fighting inflammation around the body, interesting stuff and will implement aspects to help beloved.
A day of pretty much continuous rain but cosy in the shed as I sorted out my herb pots.
Took a bag of chaff over to the yard, girlie had just come in so groomed and cosseted.
Driving home, final hour of the day was sunny at least. Coming into the garden gate and Mr Blackbird was sitting on the shed roof, singing into the twilight, magical.
Carrot & coriander soup for supper as we’d eaten our main meal at lunchtime.12 -
Frith, am so sorry. I really feel for you.

Awed.VJsmum - bath with Wallender?! Warm enough for the conservatory!BoP - how can I thank KHP for the Yellow Stuff yesterday if you aren't here to intermediary?!Happycas - so glad it's not just me losing to the freezer! Surely you are allowed creative & artistic licence within the quilt format?mhagster - a Full Week of dawn raids? Haggis will be so bemused. Ooh long days do horrible thngs to accumulating houseworkDundeedoll - lemonade scones? Ooooh! Learning from fellow twitchers is fun.Frith - a leaky loo is irritating but fixable without a Real Man. You do need The Real Spares though. Shrewd neighbour looking to rehome rather than tip his no longer wanted on voyage. Argh college not educating. At least safeguarding?MrsSD - hurrah conquering Brexit paperwork! Scrambled eggs & smoked salmon - yum.vilagelife - I love sausage & mash! Fingers crossed new neighbour will be better, but sounds a low-ish bar?LaineyT - so sorry for your friend & her loss. Mum has never told dad why she ensures he eats salmon but both are happy!Nargleblast - covet that red streak - solid grey here in Lancs.Purple Kitten - hoping hoya appreciates all your work, & turkey mince bolognaise and red lentil pasta sounds delicious!PaulieHerts - why buy when you can try cuttings?!OS Pleasures recentlyI got jabbed! Feeling so lucky, privileged, blessed.Sudden gasp as someone knocks his cold drink over & gets a very refreshing experience around sensitive parts. Little shuddering “ooh” noises are being met by me giggling like a “walrus on nitrous oxide”.Aw. We urged the artist to spend on kit for his birthday & in the process he’s being coaxed, coached & seduced into taking over his father’s collection of technical drawing pens.Watching very hazardous snakes, being filmed & then a panning shot across the the landscape with a pensive giraffe. “Kent’s changed” observes Himself & it’s as well I’m sat on the floor as I laugh.Ergle. The day after of the vaccine is a bit tougher. Still, really not wanting to eat can only be good for my waistline as well as my Immune system. Throbbing ears are intriguing.Aw, birthday kebab (as Chinese had a lead time of 2 hours) included Middleson devouring a “Megabox”. Frankly hilarious to watch as I was full after about a quarter bowl of rice & vegetables.QI reminds me to stash a baby photo in my wallet. (They’re all over 19 now but should I lose the wallet, seemingly that’s a near decisive item in the odds of it being returned.)Somehow watching Himself scarf a biscuit like a badly animated dinosaur is especially delightful, as it means he’s over the AstraZ vaccine side-effect nausea.Saw Middleson with a teabag peeking out from hand & asked was he sure 3 teabags would be enough? He freaked - how’d I “know it was 3?!” - lucky guess. There are perils to his night shift work - it does a number on All our sleep...Read of a Cub pack that carefully went through How To Make A Cup of Tea, (then Of Coffee). Finished up with How To Boil An Egg & Make Toast & happy scrunchings on the night. Today, their Facebook feed is full of awed & charmed mothers clutching brews & beaming.Oh, he’s better. Growling at the TV as they mix world war footage (PBS America, I try to reassure him). I’m almost cheering.Back to work for me. The long commute down the corridor. The crashing noises off as colleague (Middleson) tries to get in quietly. The eternal IT updates, ohDearLord. Some small bird is very near my window & being Very Specific about how something should be. (I’ve not heard that consistent an incantation on how to get something right since last I heard the bowline being taught.)Dear gods - colleague had a seizure whilst on phone conference call. Huge freak at hearing that grunting breathing again (even though Breathing is Good) but he was able to phone our boss & be heard apologising within 15 minutes, so Phew!Email from youngest “Imperial loads of Branston baked beans”. Well, we do debate Metric or Imperial loads - charmed to see youth holding by Imperial measures. The house is unnaturally silent so the night shift (this week) worker can sleep. Hell on the rest of us, as you can’t let the phone ring, thud up or downstairs (but creep Agag-like!) nor generally relax. Youngest sleeps late anyway & I’m under the headset but may not erupt for a brief wild burst of exercise (like gallumphing upstairs to make the next pint of tea). Nor to upbraid the gods in sulphurous terms for erratic & inadequate internet! When I find the genius who made Teams fall off the internet I may shake their hand. Or sock them somewhere, as we Still had a team meeting & 2 seminars, (all by phone). I need stronger sewing glasses.... Our liaison tech says it should all be better tomorrow, but he uses words carefully. Reading my colleagues' opinions is heartwarming - we couldn't compare notes yesterday - some seem to have spent the afternoon editing down to & then polishing their one sentence of rueful frustration! We have enough sunlight that the office is warm! Says she clad in a layer of cotton & boggling...Corn on the cob is surprisingly filling.Health, Strength, Love, & Courage to all as have need, may our more-pawed allies stay healthy and BoP, whatever Kitty's doing, please encourage her! All this Light & Heat when she gets going!14

Epic post again, DforV - i'm sure the fitting episode was most distressing for you on many fronts. Hugs.
Frith - oh dear! you do have your issues with colleges.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Teaching teached - 5 weeks off till the next one! 🤗
2, A walk to the PO at lunchtime and to buy the last of DS's 22 chocolate bars for his 22nd birthday (he has other things too) tomorrow. Back through the cemetery - it's a favourite route as it's so peaceful there. I'm not especially a morbid person (though i am getting familiar with the inhabitants) but it's a green space nearby away from the traffic.
3. Watched a film - Escape from Pretoria - was a good watch once I got over the shocking SA accents.
4 and 5 banked.....
Have a great day allI wanna be in the room where it happens13 -
Hello. It’s been a beautiful day here today.Up and out to work early. Then supermarket sweep . Met friend on my way out so had a nice chat with her.
Home.A few chores to do of my own then walked round to mums and did a few more there.
Nice walk home as it was warming up.Then come on doggy get your lead. And off over the fields ( squelch) we went. So nice just to be out .
Out in the garden to start the never ending fence painting. Was put on hold by rain and work. So all the back fence is done. Last third will need an extra coat tomorrow. Then it’s on to the side fencing and then all the raised beds. Got a text to say the table I’d ordered is coming on Saturday so the impetus to get it done is there. Listened to two different hour long podcast whilst painting .
But I enjoyed the sunshine and fresh air ( if I didn’t enjoy the painty bit)12 -
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK.
3) Did various jobs round the house in the morning. Took smaller son to Tesco after lunch.
4) Cracked on again after lunch and cleaned the airing cupboard out (which is 2.5 x 1.5 metres but hard to access to get the cobwebs out). Also put washing out and cleaned the big kitchen cupboard out.
5) Salmon for tea, with veg.
6) Worked on my dissertation, of 25 years ago! Its a local history thing so I wanted to update it, now it is so easy to take and include lots of images.
7) Watched Bill Bailey live.
8) Listed 5 ebay items - the job I find the most boring,
Haven't heard from bigger son since Sunday, which is a record - he must be having a good time at work.10
