Frith - a good teacher has an enormous influence on people.
Bala great you have got water - fingers crossed it stays hot.
1. My morning coffee. I enjoyed it.
2. DS1 and his girlfriend came round and we had a coffee in the garden. They brought me a home cooked afternoon tea. It was lovely when we had it later.
3. DS2 came round and sat in the garden with us - he also helped DH dig up a tree root. His present will arrive by post. I asked for some dahlia tubers.
4. Fence out back and some hawthorns planted. This is where the tree root was.
5. Spoke with my Mum she liked her present.13 -

For yesterday,
Cup of tea and early morning cuddles with small dog.
Couple of hours spent in the garden, sunny but cold in the breeze, I tidied up the borders and Capt S gave the grass its first cut of the year, oh that smell.
Text chats with my DB, sharing memories of our lovely Mum.
Watched the bad weather rolling across the fields, the flat fens make for dramatic skies.
Enjoyed Grace, had read the book so kinda knew the plot but thought it well done.
ETA it would appear our Pirate Pete is currently banned, no idea why?12 -
Good morning all, pleasures for yesterday....
Croissants for breakfast, yum.
Hilarious mug from the HT (amongst other things). It says "Give me strength" which I say at least 10 times a day. When he was small I only used to get as far as "give me" and a little voice would finish off with "strenff", so it made both of us laugh.
Some lovely photos from my sister of my great nephew helping her make his momma a cake for mothers day. Nil points for hygiene (he stuck his finger in the icing) but full marks for cuteness.
A roast dinner. It was made by my own fair hand but it was the dinner that I couldn't eat on Christmas day because I was so poorly. I still can't have alcohol but the HT and I set the table and really enjoyed the occasion. As my first roast dinner this year, it tasted so good.
Watched netflix with the HT then had an early night because we were both tired.
Take care all of you12 -
Art'noon all
Poor old BoP - wonder what he has done .🧐
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Lovely M-Day pressies. Lots of daffs, a yellow patio rose and a favourite shower gel.
2. Went for a walk with OH first thing, while the sun was still out.
3. Back for a soak in the bath with a bubble bar and Wallander
4. Steak for tea.
5. Reading more of my book and the last of bloodlands - though i'm not sure i fully followed it. LoD next week!
Have a good afternoon all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens10 -
Hello
Sunny windy day today, with a shower just after I had pegged the bedding out! It didn't last long so it will be drying again now
Bala - well done on getting your hot water back
BoP - what have you been up to this time. You naughty boy!
DH went to meet his friend today to sit on a bench and drink coffee. It was quite a novelty to have the house to myself and I got lots done. And even managed a little coffee break
Sorted out a missing delivery. Delivery firm had swapped a D for a B in the postcode and then delivered it there. Even though no part of the address was correct except for the transposed postcode! Finally got a refund.
Freezer rummage for leftovers produced kofta kebabs. Honestly, when cooking I always seem to put more back into the freezer than I took out. No wonder there's never any room in there.
Happy 🌞Monday everyone

Hello. Not that long in from work...Mothers Day? Pfft that’s so yesterday...on to the next thing! Easter. So preliminary plans and photo shoot for our new foodie treats! Lots of lovely feedback from our weekend fayre which is always good to hear and know that all our hard work was enjoyed.Slept like a sleepy thing till the alarm went off at 5am. Very quick doggy walk ( he’s been poorly but seems better today, thankfully). A vet visit avoided.Had catering to do first then my normal shift, had prepped some things yesterday so made it a bit easier today. Good company, much chatter, a fair bit of laughter. And decent tips ( by current standards)
Home and oh hello neighbours new puppy ( round the corner) how gorgeous you are. And big hello from my doggy. I know it’s been 11 hours.Usual hot shower and jammies on and alarm set to do it all again tomorrow! Just early morning catering though. Think I have every morning this week.12 -
1) a beautiful sunny day
2) birds love the new feeder (just a simple peanut one now added to 2 fat-ball coconut shell halves, a seed feeder and a fatball feeder - must remember to get mealworm next shop) - visits today from bullfinches and bluetits (also the robin swinging on the coconut shell, pigeons parading) - my rowan tree makes the perfect hanging larder for them
3) ys chicken curry for tea - put on the rice, walked the dogs, perfectly timed
4) dd2 and I made lemonade scones - the joys of lockdown with a guider
5) recipe only used half the pot of thick cream so dd2 made butter with the other half

Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep though something woke me up very early then I couldn't go off again.
2) Lost 2lbs. That's 30 lbs now.
3) Cleaned the hens out and dug quite a large area on the allotment. I might order some more soft fruit bushes.
4) Took 6 eggs to our neighbour.
5) Smaller son would not go to college but (for perhaps the first time ever) did 2.5 science past papers! I didn't take physics GCSE so that is always a mystery to me. I did chemistry, biology and geology and, talking of geology, the fund to bring my former teacher back to the UK has reached £47,000 now!
6) Talked to uphill neighbour outside and he will be moving in 6 weeks (house sold months ago) and he said he will come to say goodbye and I can help myself to anything I like that he is clearing out. So that was nice of him to think of me.
7) Have binge watched 24 Hours in A and E this evening.
8) Found out why the toilet keeps hissing and suddenly filling with a gush of water. It has the tiniest of leaks around a pipe so must occasionally register that it needs to refill. So it has been forcibly turned off at its isolation valve until tomorrow.13 -
