Good news Bala
For yesterday,
First one has to be waking up and not finding roof tiles in the garden, everything was rattling in the overnight gales. There was however a lot of rubbish that had blown in from the fields.
Capt S had his call for the vaccine and is booked in for Saturday.
Watching an interesting podcast about the correlation between the brain & mind and how to use it to control stress reactions in your everyday life.
Over to the yard, the owner had kept the horses in all day as the winter paddocks are surrounded by trees, took my girlie for a leg stretch around the school and she was a little diamond.
Tasty tea of a Moroccan pie with lemon & sultana couscous.12 -
1. Good day at work despite back pain. Even stayed late to finish off letters.
2. Colleague helping when I had problems with my back.
3. No damage done by the wind.
4. Snooze on the sofa.
5. Mothers day present for my mum arrived.12 -
Good morning all, pleasures for yesterday...
After much whinging, moaning and complaining finally dropping the HT off at school. The peace and quiet afterwards was lovely.
HT's bed stripped and bedclothes washed and dried. It's been hard to do his room during lockdown as he didn't leave it much. I have still washed his bedding, it was just good to be able to do it without him being there.
Off to friend's house to sort more things. Good progress made.
Collected HT from school and acquired the above friend's grandson who I was dropping off elsewhere as his mum couldn't make school finish time. He appeared with the HT so that was handy rather than me having to look for him.
Hot bath and pjs after dinner, then crochet and youtube. I know how to live.
Glad to see that you're warm at last Bala.
Take care all of you12 -
for yesterday off so did do some work but no meetings. bliss! so for yesterday
1) reading your posts - DfV 'I may not use a pasta pan given to me as a wedding peasant on the new cooker. It’s bottom isn’t flat' I know it's an auto miscorrect, but the non-flat wedding peasant made me laugh
2) going to the botanics with a book and a flask - red squirrel came and danced at my feet
3) sunny when i left, full blown storm as i was leaving so waited in shelter and phoned mum (extended household) for a lift
4) then we nipped to tesco so i could buy a baseball cap - lockdown fringe has got too much!
5) then mum came back here for a cuppa and we had a catch-up. I have, with the help of lockdown, managed to pay off a quarter of my mortgage, thanks to the inspiration of frith very mseI am of course extremely grateful I have a job I have been able to continue at home. Keep safe, keep sane everyone.

Gosh, lots to read today
Bala - so glad you're warm. I too hate being cold.
VJ's mum. - always good to reach halfway when marking. You'll be up to speed now and can whizz through the second half.
Very blustery today but sunny too.
Went to the market today. Much busier than recently, but still not as busy as it used to be. Everyone else seemed to be buying armfuls of flowers!
Making a chocolate cake for doorstep visitors on Sunday. Last year on Mother's Day I said, ' Don't worry about it. We'll have a good party next year.' !!Shows how wrong I can be.
Booking a concert for November! Feeling excited already!

Hello. All tucked up in bed and alarm set for 2.30am. Oooft!Up early for work. Did a couple more hours.
Home and got a dry walk with the doggy. Not so the one round the block just now! Both soaked. The mothers. And along came a lesser spotted brother.Home and picked up greenhouse from other side of garden. And toppled over Christmas tree where the birds feed from. Was a tad windy!A restorative snoozette. Just half an hour, alarm set for no longer.Back into work for another three hours tonight.Home. Quick tea. Quick doggy walk. Bed!11 -
Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Tidied the house, blackleaded the stove etc.
3) Hens OK but another greenhouse panel had flexed in the second storm and they had got out again!
4) Picked bigger son up from his apprenticeship and he has had a good week. One of the other apprentices is going to drive over our way and go climbing with him tomorrow, weather permitting. I took him some pots of herbs and he wants some more now, to plant outside the kitchen (at work).
5) Watched Gogglebox and will watch Grayson Perry just now.11
