Brr. It's cold.
So glad I met my friend yesterday. Would be much too cold and wet and windy to sit outside today.
Instead we went to the supermarket today to stock up for another week. It seemed busier than recently, but still not too bad. No mini bottles of prosecco though. Yes, I know it's not very MSE style money wise, but it's got to be better for me than a whole bottle for myself. Anyway it's academic cos they didn't have any!
Scampi and chips for tea. Not had that for ages. Might have black forest gateau for afters. ( not really. 70s joke!)
Happy bad weather day everyone

Ooh been AWOL from posting for a few days - no reason just... haven't...
Pleasures for Sunday
1. Washing hung on the line in the sunshine
2. Sunny day and we went for another longish walk over the fields and by the river
3. roast beef for tea
4. DD had a good dungeons and dragons session
5. dusted the house and cleaned up the woodburner
Monday
1. A yoga session - very intense stretches
2. More washing hung out
3. A walk round the 'big block' - 2 miles
4. Made a veg risotto for tea - i find making risotto strangely soothing
5. Finished yet another book - One Night in August by Victoria Hislop. The pleasure being that it is finished as it's one of the worst books i have ever seen through to the finish but it was a present and i felt i should finish it. I usually like hers but this one didn't do it for me.
Yesterday
1. teaching was teached.
2. Another walk around a different combination of streets and another 2 miles clocked up
3. Family film night "THe changeling". Was OK - it got better as it went on
4. fish pie for tea.
5. Heard from my supervisors who say they miss me!I'm missing them too - and, strangely, the work.
Have a good evening all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens12 -
What a meteo contrast! Vile today after yesterday.
1. Well done &, long overdue with the washing soda. 6 Thermoses? They breed. All gleaming inside and out now😁.
2. A double task completed, outside in sun and posted. And last thumb stitch came out during this other stitching work🙃.
3. Macbeth has arrived, an interesting Cambridge School Shakespeare Edn for GCSE. & will tutor online now.
4. Don't look! 'Twill sound revolting. &'s supper last night - rtc emporium ingredients: spinach, mushrooms, onion, garlic, 3 piggy slices+6 fresh vicarage eggs. Gorgeous omelette. ⅓ eaten, ⅔ left, truly scrummy.
5. The brilliance of Geoffrey Household's writing and fine actor Michael Jayston's (remember him?) reading are undimmed in Rogue Male, currently repeated on R4x, not for the first time, but this doesn't matter. Household's 1938 writing is still brilliant, compelling, prescient AND timeless.

5ish-'nother.
&'s love of studio pottery needed some British makers' pics yesterday, so here, 2 quirky Helen Martino pieces:
...all very fitting as I listen to Richard Ingrams reading J.B. Morton's Beachcomber, especially as 'Dr Strabismus (whom God preserve) of Utrecht.'
If you don't know, never mind 😁. His Honour, Mr Justice Cocklecarrot, pontificates as we speak.

Hello. Another ghastly day here though was dry but very boggy for the big doggy walk earlier and we’ve just got a little bit soaked! No work today though back in early tomorrow morning. Not done terribly much today which has been nice, more hoovering, beds stripped and hurrah remade before bedtime!Enjoyed my doggy’s company. We miss each other on work days!Hello little blue tits in the garden, don’t often see them in my garden.Made mince pie and potatoes ( ya know...leftover from work) carrots and parsnips and broccoli and peas and sweet corn. Yummy.13

A point indeed BOP our Tuesday match was postponed.
1) I made a loaf of bread. i haven't made bread for years and years and have spent the last year plucking up the nerve. not sure what i was so worried about. tis done, tis half eaten, nom nom
2) the weather today is wild and woolly - the evening walk with the dogs was fabulous
3) dd2 is slowly but surely getting through her deadlines (we have a tick chart on the white board!)
4) the birds are loving my new peanut feeder (sadly for me they didn't like my old squirrel-proof one)
5) my christmas tree, still up in the porch, has grown red noses

Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Smaller son went to college for the third day in a row.
3) Did lots of paperwork a.m - checking the end of phone contracts, sorting out online banking and mortgage.
4) Hens OK.
5) Bigger son sent me a photo of a shelter he made at work and it was used to film another episode of "Doctors" today.
6) Watched the Repair Shop.
Terrific storm here tonight.11 -
1. Not ok had a day at work. IT problems throughout the trust so meeting started late. Nothing new though. Some people had to log in on their phones!
2. Had to collect a new lateral flow testing kit..
I was told they won't smile and are miserable. They seemed friendly to me and the other people collecting their kits at the same time.
3. DS1 has been given a pay rise. Starting from 1st March. He is happy and gives him a bit of breathing space with finances when he needs to replace something.
4. Another new recipe tried which was good.
5. Enjoying my book.11 -
Recent pleasures:
Lovely walk in the sunshine ☀️ on Tuesday
I went to a different part of the country park, to a weir. Beautiful blue skies and the lake looked blue too (tried to post a photo but it’s not playing ball today)
Made a pan of chicken and veg soup 🥣 before I went out so enjoyed a couple of bowls of that when I got home
Yesterday was wet and windy so a lazy day at home
Chicken fajitas and homemade spicy wedges for dinner - yum
Today it’s wetter and windier and I’ve got the dreaded dentist this afternoon ☹️
Hope it’s a better day for you all 😊

Good morning all, pleasures for yesterday....
Food shopping done very early. Supermarket almost empty which is always good. Everything that I wanted (wasn't much) was in stock.
Cousin was outside of her house as I went past so I stopped for a chat from the bottom of the garden. It's good to talk
Home to put the washing on. The pleasure being that the basket stayed empty until the HT came home from school. Small victories.
Went to friend's house to carry on throwing stuff out/tidying ready to put house up for sale.
Hot bath and pjs on after dinner. Lovely quiet evening listenng to youtube.
Take care all of you
