Already this morning smaller son’s lift failed to appear. College phoned to say another had been organised. Waited 50 minutes. All smaller son’s routine and resolve gone.
Finally, I drove him in. Just been shouted at by the secretary for not waiting long enough for the second car to arrive. He’s only there until 12. Now sitting in my car for 2 hours to collect him.
Ive actually got a visceral hatred of the place today.11 -
Nargleblast - well spotted. I never would have made the connection!
Frith - please look into other options. You can't carry the burden by yourself for ever.
Today
Nowhere near as nice as yesterday but not raining so walked to the village, admiring spring flowers and blossom en route. Hips getting less painful with more walking.
My hairdresser rang to see if I'd like an appt. Yes please. First available one is 5 May. That'll do fine!I
Watched LoD. Still good. Still convoluted! And Unforgotten tonight ( we're always a day behind!) Getting to be quite an expert on police procedures!
Happy Tuesday everyone

Good morning. Crashed out rather early last night. So here are my Tuesday pleasures.
The first is not a pleasure but an early morning wake up call from a doggy who was feeling sick. At least he comes to tell me! Would be worse waking up and stepping in a pile of vomit! It was 4am and it was the first day that an alarm clock did not need to be set!Had a fashion show! I’ve almost lost all my lockdown weight gain ( about another 2 pounds to go) and clothes that have languished in my wardrobe ( with an ‘I will get back in to them one day’) are now fitting again. So tried on a few new to me ( charity shop) tops I’d bought that hadn’t quite fitted as expected when I’d bought them. Anyway they now do with room to wiggle in! And jeans that haven’t fitted in ages now fitting. It’s like having a whole new load of clothes choose from.Went a walk over the field with a doggy and a daughter but she had a sore foot so we had to come back earlier than expected.Round to mums for a very brief visit. Was picking up a cast iron bird bath and oooft was it heavy! Did her dishes in return! Will go back round today.Pottered around the house, decorated for Easter, hoovered. Painted another bit of raised bed. I’m now at the stage of fence I need to pull out garden sofas and big potted trees. Rain was forecast so I didn’t want to start that and then have furniture out in the way for ages. So will do it when it’s to be a full dry day. Which isn’t today.
washing was hung out and mainly dried. It was cold yesterday but very windy so it had a good blow.
window cleaners came so windows are cleaned but slightly growling that they moved my new big table to get in to the big window and didn’t move it back and it would have probably been the two of them to move it and just little me to try and get it back in position. But windows are shinier than they were.Made some RTC bhajis and samosas for tea then dozed off whilst watching a programme. Kept rewinding then dozing, rewinding then dozing! Was in bed and sleeping by 9pm.Today an alarm did not need to be set again! Hurrah! It’s dry at the moment so will hopefully get a dry doggy walk. Have a lovely day.14 -
Frith - please see if there is help you can access.
For the last couple of days as didn't manage to post yesterday.
For Monday
1. It was a day off so mostly spent in the garden.
2. Spoke with new neighbour and with old neighbour.
3. Brought some plants for some pots for the front garden. It was lovely gardening without being watched.
4. Finished my book.
5. Early night as felt very tired.
For yesterday.
1. Work happened - had worse days.
2. Still light when I got home and watered the plants and seedlings in the greenhouse.
3. Steak and potato wedges for tea with a glass of wine.
4. Started a new book.
5. Watched Line of duty- a couple of days late.13 -
For yesterday,
Weekly shop, not much in the way of bargains but did pick up a nice piece of salmon.
Postie brought an eBay purchase, SH tablecloth with strawberries on it.
Mustered a little enthusiasm and started some spring cleaning, walls washed down in bedroom and ensuite, need to do this gradually as not my favourite thing but boy is the sunshine showing up the dust!
Back to my happy place, apart from one mini meltdown in corner of the school my girlie worked well for me, no coat needed in the sunshine.
Had the salmon for tea with a Dijon / garlic type topping, tasty stuff with enough leftovers for another meal.12 -
Alas Juliette, it was Dalphin, Steels and the Winter Gardens! No necessarily in that order!
Again, I see that nothing has changed with the red tapes!
Had some fizz waters last night watching to football on the screen and those in the know about the Dolphin, cheers were allowed at last! I have checked the algorithms to make sure we can escape in the new way! You cannot be too carefull!
Had cheeseburger and onions for dinner last evening, homemade of course! Very tasty and Empress the cat enjoyed it as well!
Took better half to her work this morning and then did the shopping. Got some fizz waters and cheese, as well as good things for the weekend. Saturday will be a BBQ and chicken tikka, homemade as well! I can give the recipes!
Sun is out in Oolethorpes, but I am out west. Went to the orange B&Q place and got some shed and fence paints.
Well work is south for the week now, and I can only see a mug of tea and some biscuits! In that order, I shall wish all well and depart for another day!

Good afternoon
Another beautiful day
Met bubble friend at garden centre for coffee and wander. We were there early but by the time we left it was very busy! As it's the only interesting place we're allowed to go, I suppose that's not surprising!
Had a look at summer clothes and brought some out to start wearing on days like today. Amazingly all the ones I tried on still fit, though admittedly would fit better for the loss of a couple of pounds. I'll try!
Will have to water the smaller pots in the garden today. They do dry out quickly and no real rain forecast. But I like poodling about in the garden anyway, so that's no hardship.
Pigs in blankets for tea ( they're for life, not just for Christmas😂 ) followed by brownie and ice cream.
Happy 🌞🌞 day everyone12 -
Afternoon all.
Yesterday was rather eventful - i went upstairs and stood on what i thought was the second step down to admire the blossom out of the window. It wasn't the second step, but the very top one. Resulting in me stepping without a step, lurching forward and slamming my face into the bathroom door frame. Long story short, i have a bust lip which now has 7 stitches in it and a bit of a 'trout pout' going on 😮😷
So pleasures
1. The wonderful NHS who patched me up and the wait was not even that excessive. Had to get a plastics expert to do it as my lip needed realigning. Was tempted to ask for a quick chin job while i was there.
2. My wonderful OH who drove me to two different hospitals and waited while i was seen (about 4 hours!) without any recrimination - just said "it was an accident"
3. The beautiful blossom that caused it all - it is still beautiful
4. Earlier in the day we'd done a 5 mile walk that we haven't done for a while and there was no mud
5. Also made a start on the paper i have tasked myself to write.
Have a great afternoon all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens14
