Hello. We’ve had ghastly weather all day. High winds and rain.In at work early. Just for an hour.
Home and took dog for big walk. We were both soaked but nice to be out in daylight as early and listening to the birds singing.Made DD2 pancakes for breakfast. I had cheese on toast.
Had to take mum to the hospital for an appointment, thought we were going back tomorrow but didn’t need to until Friday now. It was so wild trying to get her in and out of car!Home. Quick doggy walk and then we had an early tea of mince pie and oven chips and beans! Hardly haute cuisine but blooming tasty! Just what we both needed. Clean plates!Cleaned my bathroom and downstairs loo. Need to hoover and wash muddy paw prints 🐾 🐾🐾
Happy birthday Jenny .Pirate Pete what a fab photo.14 -
oops been awol due to work - need to get a better life work balance! hugs and waves to all. 5 for the weekend
1) a light drizzle on saturday didn't prevent me going for a walk on my own to the botanic gardens - i took a flask and a book and sat in a covered pergoda
2) sunday woke early, walked up to balgay and moved about half the abandoned broken plastic sledges to by the bin
3) home for coffee and online church
4) after lunch walked with my gbf and the dogs - we stopped for a coffee which is allowed but didn't sit on the same bench cos that wouldn't have been allowed
5) sausage and mash at mum's for supper
monday morning walk, the council had removed all the rubbish hooray. will do some more this weekend, but will take longer as moved the bits closest to the bin

Pleasures for today (Tuesday) What a day!
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) New washing machine was delivered. Curry’s then refused to install it as you need to turn the water off outside and they “can’t” do that... So I’ll be getting a refund for their installation fee.
3) Hoovered upstairs and changed one bunk bed.
4) Hens ok. Had to let them out so I could clean their sleeping quarters out and they helped me stack ash trimmings for a future bonfire.
5) Popped to take back clothing that didn’t fit and also get a few bits from Sainsbury’s.
6) Had an email from smaller son’s solicitor. The County have given up and accepted all proposals we have put forward (apart from one sentence, which is fine). That is 17 pages agreed to and it looks like the tribunal will be cancelled.
7) Bigger son’s school friend’s dad is coming round to fit the washing machine tomorrow.
8) After having a cup of tea to recover from the County news, my phone beeped and I had an appointment for my Coronavirus vaccine! So I had that at 5pm.
9) Watched Holby City.
10) Have been speaking to smaller son about starting back at college and he’s been talking about getting some new trousers so perhaps there is some hope. Where on earth does one buy tracksuit trousers for the 6 foot 3 youth?!

1 The ferret girls are doing great today, pondering around the house and letting us know they are miffed that they can’t get into the garden until tomorrow.
2 I got some writing done, and I’m pleased to be getting back in the habit.
3 I have ordered in some suet and a few bits via Wilko, remembering to use a cashback site to do it.
4 Loving the sun being out, it makes such a difference, and the daffodils are starting to flower, always memories of my mum.
5 Dinner is an easy chicken bake from the freezer and yesterdays extra rice and veg I cooked up on purpose, anyone would think I’d planned it.
6 A really lovely long catch up, putting the world to rights with DB.

Oh Frith, congratulations, well done. You must be so relieved (and exhausted). For the trousers 'think' .....basketball, USA, auction site. That's the first thing that came to mind. Just an idea.......
PK, your relief must be palpable. Again, a kiss from me, to all especially Nestle. The humans can have one too.....
Glad you're feeling better Cranky.
The last few days have been manic with the washing machine going full pelt. All heavy 'stuff', bedding mostly, washed and dried on the line. I LOVE my washing machine. It's a very hard worker. Going to give it a good clean today in thanks. The joy is bringing in the sweet, fresh air smelling, results.
Great success today. Every 2 or 3 weeks I allow myself to be dragged (I don't kick or scream) to the LARGE supermarket. Have always disliked this kind of shopping trip but it is useful. We are normally there at the crack of dawn but today at around 2pm. I spent a couple of hours checking cupboards, freezer, fridge and then online checking prices. I wrote a comprehensive shopping list. I came away with enough meat for a month, and the mince and pork chops were RTC. Hence the over-buying. I estimate that full price my shop would have been approx £100.00......but with research, RTC, and coupons I paid £75.00 ! Was thrilled. Even managed treats for my brother (he loves madelaine cakes, banana milk) and OH, mini chocolate rolls and brussel sprouts. YUcK !
My dastardly plan is to avoid big shop for at least 4 or 5 weeks using what I have MSE style. I won't mention this to OH as it seems to create a feeling of lack when the truth is that we are stacked to the gills. And I am loving my new skills even though I hate cooking. You know that, right ?.......tee-hee.....
I feel blessed and showered with abundance. Must admit to a frisson of anticipation when I picked up my 55 pence lasagna sheets. Should have shouted 'FRISSONS at half the price'.........
Toodle-pip me lovelies

Frith that is great news. It's been a long battle for you but you have got there.
1. A friend is feeling better which is good.
2. Work was ok. Didn't feel like yelling at anybody which is good at the moment.
3. Took some lunch to work but did collect my free fruit and yoghurt.
4. Easy tea as it was a long day at work but left work and it wasn't totally dark.
5. Bank account looking healthy the day before pay day.14 -
Frith glad you have good news re “smaller” son 😊
Recent pleasures:
Walk round a favourite lake, the one a bit further away, Met friend there.
It drizzled to start with but was pleasantly warm.
Saw the heron.
Dentist yesterday, my big fear, pleasure is it’s over with for a few weeks but more appointments needed for a filling and gum specialist! And possibly a wisdom tooth extraction ☹️☹️
Walked round the town where the dentist is, it has a castle and lots of old buildings. Was a little sunny and windy but very spring like.
Made a big pot of bolognaise, OH had it with potatoes (doesn’t eat pasta!) and I had spaghetti. Enough for bolognaise pie tonight - I make it with mashed potato and cheese on top instead of pastry - very tasty 😋
Supposed to be warm today. Have a good one 😊

Belated birthday wishes to Jenny ❤️Crikey, what a day Frith, no idea on the joggers I’m afraid.
Good haul at the SM Bala.
For yesterday,
Did the weekly shop, picked up a couple of bunches of daffodils just because, not that OS but oh so cheerful to have in the house.
Messaged hairdresser and he was sat ready with appointment book, all sorted for the 14th of April.
Chat with DSIL with much along the lines of won’t it be nice when we can......
Check up for small dog at vets, we saw a different vet and she was very pleased with movement etc so no mention of thousand pound x-ray!
Tried to watch recorded programme about the Scottish isles but kept falling asleep so early night.15 -
Thanks Lainey
hope beloved OH is okay......

1) A dry day, a nice walk on the footpaths and the sound of new lambs from the lambing pen!
2) Made black bean burgers from a new recipe for lunch, much nicer than anything I've made before and a definite keeper to make again.
3) Roadside verges brimming with new green growth of all kinds and looking verdant and fresh.
4) The buzzard was in the tall old Black Poplar Tree at the end of the footpath and took wing as we got close, I so love to see him soaring so effortlessly above us before making a small adjustment and slipping gracefully away over the field without so much as a single wing flap!
5)Banks of purple crocuses on the entrance to the senior school on the upper road, en masse they're spectacular.11
