For today:
Cooked breakfast. We watched the tennis final while we were eating.
Out in the garden, OH cut the grass and put up my new bird box
Lots of robins and blue tits around, probably because I topped up the feeders but I hope someone takes up residence in the new bird box 🐦
I tidied and titivated!Yorkshire success ready for toad in the hole, I cheat and put the sausages in after as I am worried I will spoil the Yorkie 😊. BOP it is basically the same as your recipe but uses more eggs and I used oil as I don’t have lard. The secret seems to be leaving the batter in the fridge overnight and a very hot pan 😊
Night all 💤

A quiet day - aren't they all now but I feel less anxious and worried than I have for a long while.
1. Enjoyed the warm weather and had not only coffee but lunch in the garden. Well wrapped uo.
2. Finally got round and weeded an area that has been severely neglected for a couple of years. It looks so much better and ready for plants.
3. Quick trip to local supermarket and queued outside but inside was quiet. Much preferred to queue than have loads of people in the shop.
4. A shower after a day in the garden.
5. Watched The Dig with a glass of wine. A good way to finish the day.
Hugs to Suffolksue you are in my thoughts and prayers14 -
Welcome Nurse2259, good job on the rug, new ones are so flipping expensive these days aren’t they.
Hope all goes well today PK.
For yesterday,
Capt S slept right through to 7am, much improvement on 4am, he has a scan this week.
Bacon butties and catching up on all things Ambridge.
Busy morning after that, cleaned the mini inside and out with small dog yelping excitedly from the other side of the garden gate, she loves the hosepipe and jumps through the spray. Sorted out the water feature, switched it on and soon there was a stream of sparrows taking turns for a bath. We have a bird bath as well but they obviously prefer running water.
Came back in to put together a pork & sweet potato casserole and while that was simmering went back and did some weeding, also cut some of the !!!!!! willow branches and popped them in a tall vase on the hearth.
Ate lunch then sat and watched an old B&W film, The Lady Vanishes.
Early evening walk with small dog, lovely to see so many green buds in the hedgerows.12 -
Sending good wishes for the ferret ladies today PK, hoping all goes well and they come home sleepy but fine!
1) Bath time what's app calls every evening with the pink grandpickle and sharing bedtime mayhem with her and mum, keeps us in touch.
2) A decent nights sleep and waking up this morning not tired.
3) Being able to shop online I've finally decided to invest in some more books as I've read and re-read all my old favourites and the books I got before the first shut down and everything on my kindle too. Feel the need for some new material where I don't know the story inside out.
4) A Tesco delivery this afternoon with nice fresh fruit and veg, we're going to have a couple of weeks of mainly vegan meals and I've ordered in some stir fry packs and lots of ginger, garlic and fresh herbs along with some curry pastes and sauces to ring the changes.
5) Watching the local resident magpies building a nest in one of the very tall trees I can see from the lounge windows and getting very territorial and chasing off the resident rook who is interested in their work and keeps settling in the top of 'their' tree to watch, they get very shouty and mob him until he goes away but he's obviously fascinated and just can't stay away...it's a sort of 'avian soap opera'.12 -
Yes, vl - with you and OH, Suffolk Sue and also Frith in today's waking thoughts. In Zoom church yesterday Sue, special prayers from the Fens.
Nurse - bienvenue! - and I'm certain Lainey hears the clip-clop, trot of horse rug talk from afar🐎

Will rpt yesterday's horror moment....dampness? feet? Surely not....aaaaghh! YES! So, all day efforts drying bedding layers and mattress....
Despite no leak testing, red hwb banished to bin. Mr Purple remains.
1. Couldn't listen through whole Oz open+Serb, just loathe him too much, so equally defective hwb+&bed sorting matched each other. & is total tennis phan of 60+years. Osp? The one most affecting & was fixable?.....that has to do🙄😬🤭.
2. Sky now light at &'s customary early brekkie. Kitchen faces East. Love that horizon blush and rising sun over distant treeline. No sheep in back field yet, so sod shepherd's warning.😁
3. Baptism - fao Frith's ds1, Wooden Spoon Mk II at 1st big work😃:
- with celery, peppers, mushrooms, fresh pineapple, garlic and emporium rtc lamb fillet seized in toasted sesame oil, then sluiced with rosé d'&'s Provence. Slow cooker has completed the good work. Anticipated 😋.
4. Tales of 2 violets, unexpectedly spotted in flower. One shouldn't be under &'s back field water drain cover. Other, rescued from floody field in France on a regretful return a few years back, now under front fig tree.
5. New person, with adult d+sil made selves affably known. Suitably distant in good ways. Chatted with half-moon well up. Not cold. Light cloud and breeze. Back round field, less muddy now - hooray! and indoors for osp 3.

Big week ahead again.

Morning all - welcome Nurse!
PK - good luck today.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. yoga - tried a new session as my usuals had not been uploaded. Was very stretchy and i'd do it again. I do like to be stretched!
2. left over home made pizza for lunch. Pizza is one of the few things normally eaten hot that i can stomach cold. Christmas pud and roast beef are about the only others.
3. Talking of christmas - had a piece of christmas cake that i'd hidden from the gannets. Tho i did share cos i'm nice like thatthere's a tiny piece left, though, and that is MINE....
4. More marking done and tomorrow's lectures largely written.
5. Family film night was not a success. It was my choice of Top Gun - i thought it'd go down OK, but... it didn't. THe pleasure is that i can watch it alone some other time as we had to buy it to watch it.
More marking and so on today - as it's raining it isn't such a hardship but i will probably get out this afternoon for a short walk at least. Have a good day all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens14 -
Good afternoon
Paulie - we have 2 bird houses and a frog house in our garden, all unoccupied. DGD even put up some signs one year but no-one moved in.
Ampersand - love the violets. So pretty.
Little trip out this morning to the opticians to pick up my specs. New prescription because left eye getting weaker - cataract but still manageable with glasses. They were very organised and new specs are very smart!
It's now sunny and feeling warmer. Going to be positively tropical on Wednesday by all accounts. I love the fact that evenings are getting lighter too.
Happy 🌞afternoon everyone

Not much achieved today concentration was far away. I did the bare min to make sure the animals don’t take over - there is always a washing load on.
1-5 Thank you for the kind thoughts. I can at last say they are both home, and recovering, they have had painkiller injections with more painkillers tomorrow morning from us disguised in something, Skittles was with it enough to demand a bit of turkey from my home made turkey curry.
6 Making a turkey curry using all sorts the house smells great and I just found some peshwari nans in the freezer.
7 Looking at some of the free OU courses, just having a nosey.
8 Watching an older film on talking pics, I love watching them for the cars.
