5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

Good morning all,
Mhags, I can still remember the last face to face conversation that I had with my husband word for word and that was nearly 12 years ago. I remember the feeling as he walked away from me to board his train because I was crying which I'd never done before (he worked away). Looking back it was as though I knew that I'd never see him again. Some things are just imprinted deeply on our hearts. Big hugs x
Frith, maybe the course facilitator is just someone that likes to help. I can be over helpful sometimes because my anxiety leads me to believe that I'm not doing enough. Don't let it make you feel guilty - you have nothing to feel bad about. We're all doing our best in difficult circumstances.
Bala - hugs. I'm glad that you have a heater.
Pleasures for yesterday.....
I had a "take it easy" kind of day until work time. I was tired - I need to remember that I'm still not that well and not to go mad trying to do too much.
I had offered to go for a walk with the HT but he asked for a change of day which suited me.
Pancakes - we had them for lunch. I can't deny it, I am a !!!!!!
Work went well. It usually does when dinner is involved. Boss also said that I will be paid full pay for LAP's respite week as I'm doing so well with him and he loves being wth me. Unexpected and very welcome.
Hot bath, pjs and early bed. I did just sit in bed reading for a while but I'll take it as a win because I was lying down resting.
Take care all of you15 -
Good morning
House Elf - great news re DD job. You must be so proud!
M Hags - sometimes memories just knock us sideways. I hope today is a better day.
Frith - it seems, reading your posts, that you spend an incredible amount of time on both your sons. I know 'A mother's place is in the wrong', but please stop beating yourself up. You're doing a great job.
S Sue more hugs x
Yesterday
No snow, no ice, no rain so no excuse not to go for a walk! The village was almost deserted. I don't think I've ever seen it so quiet. I know the walk must have done me good, but my arthriticky hips didn't think so at the time. A year of much less walking and only intermittent yoga is taking its toll. Must try harder.
Fish pie and apple crumble for tea. Thank goodness for the dishwasher. Fish pie seems to use nearly every pan and utensil we have.
I've decided to do a spring wreath but don't know where to get a base from. Loads online but I would prefer to be able to see it. The shops I would usually go to are shut. Ah well. Not a huge problem in the scheme of things.
Happy wet Wednesday everyone

It may be that the lady from the course did pick up that you needed some support Frith and good on her if she did, you do an amazing job with both of your sons but goodness knows how wearing it must be so anything that helps must be a good thing?
Sorry to hear about your friends Dad VJS, hang on to those wonderful memories.
For yesterday,
The daffodils in the garden are up and budded but no flowers yet so I got a couple of bunches in the weekly shop.
Saw several strings heading out to the gallops, gorgeous creatures and on their toes as they go out for exercise.
Chat with lovely farrier to arrange for him to visit girlie, he was babysitting his small son and sounded a tad harassed!
Home from the yard and hungry but a big mug of tea and a slice of fruit loaf soon sorted that.
An early night and reading in bed.

I think I am going to send all round hugs, to everyone. These are for yesterday.
1 Up early this morning and feel privileged to have seen 2 woodpeckers on the feeders, I’ve never seen 2 together so to speak.
2 Got the turkey in to cook through nicely, I made a foil thing to hopefully steam it as well, with veg and new pots
3 I may have had a nap.
4 The vet sent pet med prescriptions over, saving us a drive, but I would have been quite happy to get out of the house.

1) A decent sleep ... I didn't wake up until 8 o clock this morning.
2) A lovely long morning walk in the sunshine.
3) Fresh made filter coffee when we got home.
4) Fresh fruit salad for pudding, it's so nice to be able to get all sorts of fresh fruit in February including some frozen raspberries from the allotment last summer.
5) Being warm enough to not need hat and gloves when we're outside walking and friendly people we pass these days who always say 'hello' I think everyone is missing contact with the outside world and is pleased to see a new face.10 -
A better day. Been a bit kinder and gentler to myself today.
in at work early.Home and lay down for an hour, didn’t sleep just lay in bed watching stuff. Then had to take mum to the dentist. She got a tooth pulled so I just sat in the corridor and waited. It’s been a bright and breezy day after a wet start, washing out. I love to see it blow on the line and smell so fresh when it comes in. Was almost dry.Had a snoozette. Though not a very long one but long enough to recharge.
Had veggies and some leftover lasagna ( which I realise is carbs but was going to be wasted otherwise) more veg than pasta! I however did not eat sweets or biscuits or bread or cakes.Did a bit in the garden, swept up. The crows are dropping moss off the roof tiles ( loads of roofs around here covered in moss) and on my patio. Had swept up a pile yesterday then more today. Crocuses are peeking through and polyanthus has flowers keeking.Just been a quick dog walk before it got dark at 6pm.
thank you for all your kind words. As VJsmum said I am a ‘dates’ person. It’s kind of a thing I have and have always had ( can still tell you people I was at primary with birthdays) and four years just seems like four seconds, honestly it does. And the counting in years rather than weeks and months now is quite horrible. A year ago we were having a surprise birthday party at work for a colleague. And planning what we’d do for all the March birthdays...hmmm go into lockdown was the answer to that one!So today was another day and tomorrow shall be too.14 -
My friend who lost her dad was astounded that i'd remembered the registration number of the car that he used to pick us up from school discos in!! It was quite a distinctive number but i do also have a peculiar memory.
Pleasures for today

3. Went for a walk in warmish sunshine up the lane
