Agree with others, despite not a difference in temperature it feels much colder here too, nasty rude wind that goes through rather than around you, we are due a jump of 10 degrees tomorrow, can’t wait!
For yesterday,
Bit of a lie-in followed by boiled egg and soldiers.
Made a loaf and pottered around the house, the bird feeders were all filled up and warm water put out in a plant saucer as bird bath frozen solid.
Finished my latest book, Stonehenge by Bernard Cornwall, very pertinent given the news re the providence of some of the stones. Good timing as Postie came with another parcel from World of Books.
Thai green curry for tea with coconut rice, yum.
Candles lit and watched some old comedy on tv.14 -
Good morning all, pleasures for yesterday....
Work went well.
LAP and went for a walk along the sea front. -1.5 degrees and the sea water that had splashed up onto the prom was frozen. We survived and I felt better for being out.
The HT's partner really liked the home made cake.
Some snow but not enough to make the trip to take LAP home dangerous. Once I was on the main road it was OK.
I've relocated my pc to a warmer room. I feel a bit "displaced" for now but I'll get used to it and I appreciated the extra warmth last nght.
The final one has to be my electric blanket. I'd be cold and miserable wthout it.
Bala I hope you get some sort of heating soon
Take care all of you13 -
Saturday ‘s pleasures:
lie in and tea in bed courtesy of OH
kitchen cleaned and prep done for dinner
put fan heater in cupboard to warm the water pipes gently (left door open) so hoping the washing machine works today, it is also a little warmer
lazy afternoon with OH watching the rest of the Auf Widersehen Pet transporter bridge series - very enjoyable
chicken fajitas for dinner
Happy Valentine’s Day 😘14 -
Pleasures yesterday.
Sunshine during the doggy walk in the snow, got to get some of that Vitamin D production under way.
Home made beef curry for lunch, with a small carrot and pineapple side salad. Brought back memories of tasting that for the first time out in India, very refreshing taste with spicy foods. Also did a bit of rice and home made naans. The curry was cooked in less than half an hour in my Tefal Cook 4 Me.
Afternoon doze on the sofa, just because I had been awoken early so felt like a nap.
Got up and managed to get my circulation going again by taking dog out into the garden to play with her football. We were supervised by junior cat who climbed the pergola and sat at the top, meowing at us.
Watched on YouTube the 2012 Olympics opening ceremony. We put on a fabulous show, brought wet stuff to my eyes watching it. Still love the Queen and James Bond section. The world has changed so much in the past eight and a half years, maybe, just maybe we will experience that good feeling again soon.
Home made raspberry rum as a snifter before bed, just because I can.One life - your life - live it!15 -
Might manage a post before a Might Manage Zoom Church, if the notspot gremlins are also fruz at -6⁰C🥶❄ plus added wind chill.
On verra.
1. Using left thumb, ipso facto left hand, Hallelujah!, as normal, including writing, knitting, gear shift et al - no pain! 'Tis wonderful! Addenbrookes follow-up tmrw, PSU and OT, 2 appts, lovely phone call yesterday, should be a doddle. ❤NHS ❤!!!
2. It's consecutive day 3 of -6⁰C and worse so far and, while hwb kettle boiled, scarfed and layered & just re-did birdy munch. They.Were.Waiting. No mealworms today. It's windy, increasingly so, and lightweight blowaway mealworms are expensive.
3. Took note of condolence to a Town of Gown address yesterday, a very special person, then parked riverside, a little tuck-in & knows. Sunny and bright, viciously chilly, some ice, but rowing water and paths much in use. All good, with apple, knitting, thermos, grauniad.
4. .....AND what Wow! rugby listening via phone. Non-smoker & always has busy lighter plug-in. Dirty Farrell up to his usual yesterday, got away with it, but not a total runaway victory over Italy, as France last had week. Then, what a Wales v Scotland match was that! Much msg'g amongst we of The Alma😁 and &'s crocheted dragon, Rhyffed, born for their 2019 World Cup travels in Japan🙂, was prominent and pic.-shared.
Now appointed Official Lucky Mascot🏴. & deliberately provocative(surely not!)😇, wondering what will happen when Wales have to play 15 men for a whole 80 minutes......😉😁🤭, not the case so far.
Allez les Bleus, quatorze heures quinze aujourd'hui♥️🇫🇷🏉🍷😚.
5. A lovely hand-painted card and words, unexpected, from the children of one of &'s birds with broken wings.

Time to zoom🙏❄⭐. Take real, continuing, non-complacent care everyone. Avoid locations where many do not.
Bala, look - we can set the osp heavies onto your OH in the most persuasive way. Threaten him with &'s All Blacks bloodline. Seriously, reading of your current needless struggles (among all the rest)is both horrific and archaic. You know about coercive behaviour. It needs to stop, or be stopped, for everyone's health, safety and sanity. ❤👊🤲🤝🙏

A few &pics and shares:
Big chill sunrise and sunset.
Corvid capture, guard and chomp of & apple core.
From another rugby friend, do watch this - horses loving snow, Lainey😃:

So hard to hear vile djokovic not being ousted by Raonic. 🤞for Zverev, who also carries Narrrsty Man baggage. Can he do it?
&, just gear up pour la Marseillaise🇫🇷🏉♥️.
Unfortunately, &'s Toulon tasted very rare home defeat yesterday - oh! sad and blighted Stade Mayol. Not close at 29-11 either, face à la Rochelle. ☹.
Some good Zoom join in, joined up singing with Church earlier with wonderful ancient sound Orthodox Phos Holeron chant. Zoom is opening up all sorts of amazing sharing.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Now BoP would never has a go at Educationalists! Butt should not home maintenance be included on the cirriculum, instead of exams and the rush to finishing skool! Now you Daily BoP!

Not do inn the Mushroom Stronenuff this weak, butt recipe is about perfected! Too day is the Cottage Pie and suede carrot mash as well. Usual pan gravy! To make the pie, use!
I big onion chopped like toe nails
1 lb of minced beef
I can of the haricot has beens!"
Creamy mash of spud, with some proper cheddar chives whipped inn too it! That is four the topping!
Fry the onions inn the pan, add the mince and drain the has beens inn to the mix! Add the stiff pan gravy! Make up proper pan gravy, never use the instant foamed mixes! BoP uses his home mixed gravy salt, oxo, flower of the corn, with a tad of mustard and sage!
Layer the dish with the mince mix, add the creamy mash on top. Bake inn the kiln for about 25 minutes! Job done! Serve with the mashed suedes and carrots, add some collieflower as well!
Sat watch inn the cricket. Enuff said!
Well that is watt it is like in your version of BoP's life!

Tis an evening most wild here. Lashing rain and winds.Fire is on...and I did it all by myself without choking on smoke! Was in at work at 4am. Oooft! But home by 12.30pm so have had a Sunday afternoon off which has been nice. And tired but a different tired to normal Sunday evening tired! And instead of hot shower and jammies I siliconed the shower! There were a couple of wee gaps that I’ve been meaning to do for a few weeks. So it’s done.Had an hours snooze earlier. Just needed to recharge.
Big blustery walk over the fields earlier. Holy moly it was so cold. The iciest of winds.
Big chat to friend on phone.Found some cocktail sausage rolls in the freezer so had them with beans. Whilst chatting.Thinking I had no cans of D coke left and not wanting to go back out and raking through bags and found one from when DD2 and I had been at one of her recent hospital appointments ! The delight was palpable! The joy that daffodils and tulips and irises bring me.13 -
Evening all - quite wild and wooly here too, Mhags but set to warm up overnight.

Glad to see you're recovering well ampers
1) enjoying my BTSport - watched Leicester go through FA cup mid week, which meant i also saw Justin go down :-(
2) lovely walk with mum and dd2 in the botanics yesterday. we found tracks - bound to be a woozle! but we never found the woozle, nor even a Heffalump. Invited to take a red rose as leaving
3) Decorated my tree in the porch with hearts which made me smile
4) both Leicester and Luton won at the weekend. Funny to see we're now 9 from the playoffs and 9 from relegation BOP

Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Not a bad sleep but woken once again by neighbour’s gate being slammed by the wind every 30 seconds. I went to talk to them about it tonight, something I absolutely loathe doing, (criticising them, not talking to them!) and I notice it is latched shut now.
2) Bigger son’s last day at home celebrations kicked off with a cooked breakfast.
3) Hens ok.
4) Walk round our nearest castle. Here’s bigger son being the hero:
5) Encouraged bigger son to get on with packing his stuff and packed about 15 tonnes of food - that should last him until Tuesday. One poor apprentice lived a way away so is stopping there tonight - in a completely empty Manor House miles from anywhere! She’s already pulled her bed to block her bedroom door. Before that, she sent son some photos of his room.
6) Lost 2lbs. That’s 1.5 stone this year.
7) Takeaway curry for tea!
8) Did a last virtual quiz.
9) In bed now with 1hwb and am working my way through the Adam Buxton podcasts.
Busy day tomorrow!14
