Oh Bala- that sounds bad. I hope you can get the heating mended soon.
Today
Went to the village to collect my prescription. Cheated and went in the car because there's still lots of icy patches on the pavements and I'm so scared of falling! The roads are clear though so it was an easy trip.
A friend who has been waiting for quite a while has had his operation and all went well.
Finished The Drowning. At least it had a proper conclusion. Think that's about the best I can say about it.
Listening to Bryan Adams on our new Echo. Remembering seeing him at our local football stadium in a torrential downpour! Bet he won't forget that gig! He kept playing though, with roadies keeping swapping his wet guitar for a dry one!
Happy very cold day everyone14 -
Good afternoon Chaps,
& - Healing vibes your way 🙂
Yesterday
1. DH made Chilli for tea.
2. Nice quiet day, apart from a bit of excitement on the way back from collecting DD from work.......We stopped at Coop garage for milk. As I walked back to the car, a 4x4 Reversed towards me. I thought 'How rude!'. A man jumped out of a parked van and shouted 'There's no one in that car!'.......luckily it stopped up on a kerb, but we were then all trapped in the car park, as it was blocking the entrance. Van man went into the shop to see if he could find the owner, but no luck. We waited a while, then someone directed us through a tricky gap out of the car park 😱 If they had gone shopping down the high street, Van Man might have been trapped there for a while.......
3. Repaired a file holder, using my new staple gun. 🙂
4. Rewatching Deutschland 86 in prep for Deutschland 89.
5. Just enjoying being at home, not going to work........but DH getting worried about paying the bills, so workety work will have to be procured. ☹️Have a lovely evening 🙂In a world where you can be anything, be kind. (Caroline Flack)
We have more in common than that which divides us. (Jo Cox)14 -
Bala, no heat in this weather? Yikes I hope it’s sorted soon?? Glad your bother was able to be calming at the vets.
1 Watched a 1963 John Wayne film
2 A lot of de clutter progress, recycle bin for old magazines that were filed away, they were wedding magazines and then also a load of bumpth from looking into emigrating to Canada, 3 box files worth, any rate all binned now, discovered a couple of old papers that we can’t remember why we kept now which will now be litter tray liners. And large three large recycle bin bags literally full of shredded paperwork is todays achievement. And the office is in a literal terrible state with stuff everywhere now while sorting through.
3 DH has been changing the bird bath water each day with warm water, I’ve never seen so many birds having the time of their life in it.
4 I’ve just used a well-timed, just received voucher for 50 percent off at a local independent for takeaway tonight, I'm relaxing the diet this weekend, and finding it hard to veer off ironically.
5 I just booked in 2 ferrets to be neutered, we are using the 2 month council tax “break” so using the money that would have been for them on the animals.

Recent pleasures:
Went for a walk in local park, first time out for a week! I drove there as icy 🥶 pavements worry me as I had a fall on ice 30 years ago this week and ended up in hospital with fractured vertebrae! I remember the date as my niece is 30 today and my twin sister and I were in hospital at the same time!
Met friend in park.
Icy duck pond looked lovely and the ducks 🦆 were slipping all overthe place but managed to swim at the edges!
Crocus and daffodil buds surviving the cold.
Water supply to washing machine frozen, no idea what to do as it’s integrated and all hidden, OH’s response was “I’ll have to take MY washing to my mum’s”!
Made spicy butternut squash and red pepper soup and fruit buns 😊
Have a super Saturday, looks like it will be warmer next week. Perhaps I’ll be able to do some washing then 🤣🤣

Hello
It's amazing the difference a woolly hat makes. Just wish that Tiggy was the type of dog that would wear one !
Am going to have a moan so look away if this will offend/annoy you.
Spoke to Corgi yesterday. We have an insurance with them. OH has been cancelling the yearly service. All records from this last year have engineers reporting that our boiler is in bad condition. They, quite rightly believe the problems are 'our' fault and will not pay out. I could weep. He doesn't want to pay for anything even though this is his house. MY PARENTS have sent a sizeable amount of money to help. I am going to send it back. His pensions are 3 times the amount they receive between them. The ironic thing is that he is the one I am worried about. He sits in his chair all day everyday. I sorted a hot water bottle and a lovely bobble hat he bought for himself. He won't use them even though I have begged. Moan/rant over.
So my pleasures (quite seriously) are my parents, my brother and Tiggy.
And many more............ including you lot ! tee-hee

Oh Bala, there is just no helping some people, sorry about your heating 😕
For yesterday,
Changed the bed, made a tea loaf and whilst that was in the oven I went out to the farm shop for a few bits from their butchery.
Tasty lunch, blue cheese ploughmans with HM bread and winter slaw.
Went to see my girlie, it was bitterly cold as the wind had got up so just gave her a bit of a pamper and left her cosy in the stable.
Have ordered a roast dinner takeaway from local pub for sunday, it’s something we did during the first lockdown and thoroughly enjoyed it, I do enjoy my cooking but it will be nice to have a break.
Watched the penultimate episode of It’s a Sin, got a feeling that I will need tissues for the last.13 -
