Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Bit of a lie in after a pathetic nights sleep.
2) Did 3 loads of washing at the launderette.
3) Fed hens then drove back down with some warm water for them as the tap there had frozen up.
4) My workbook has come for the online course I’ll be doing soon - Mental Health First Aid.
5) Went to Sainsbury’s to get bigger son some new sheets for when he moves out. Also found a lovely duvet cover for smaller son with bird feathers.
6) Roast chicken for tea with 3 salads with plenty left for lunch tomorrow.
7) Watched 8 out of 10 cats does countdown.14 -
Glad you have your landline back, ampersand.
Pleasures yesterday, maybe one or two from the day before, the days get a bit blurred so apologies if any repeats.
Masses and masses of beautiful snow to look at and walk in, but not drive in, thank goodness!
Dog playing with four legged friend in the park, a lovely sight to see.
Lovely stuff from the fruit and veg van, fresh from the market at 06:00 that morning.
Frugal lunch yesterday - leftover chilli from freezer served with jacket potato, cheese and a salad containing 8 species of plant life. Things like chilli and curry are always better when served as leftovers. Leftover meringues served as a sort of Eton Mess with Greek yoghurt and raspberries for dessert.
As ever, online choir practice giving pleasure and getting the lungs working.
Getting to Extreme level on computer Mahjong. Quite relaxing, if you can ignore the pseudo-Chinese plinky plonk music.
Discovering that hot chocolate with a dash of Baileys is close to Nirvana.
The company of son, living at home for the foreseeable future.
The antics of dog and cats, a never ending cabaret.

Pleased all is sorted &
Oh yes to the blurring of days Nargle ☺️
For yesterday,
Bitterly cold morning but bright blue skies and sunshine.
Worked girlie in hand on defrosted school surface, at the end we did a bit of liberty work which basically consisted of me trotting over poles followed by princess pony with such a look of resignation on her face as if to say what is my silly mum up to now! She follows me everywhere now so safe to say we have joined up.
A stunning sunset, big advantage of living in such a flat landscape.
Capt S had had a bad day, workety problems plus pain but when he sat on the sofa at the end of it small dog snuggled up and put her head on his shoulder, she melts our hearts every day.
Tea was a nut loaf with baked sweet potato and roasted veg.15 -
Good morning all. Sorry, I missed a day. I was making the most of feeling reasonably healthy and energetic. Pleasures for yesterday....
I started sorting out the spare/junk room. It's silly having a spare bed that is hardly ever used taking up all that room.
Bed, some spare curtains and the brand new duvet off the bed all listed on a local free site. All were requested and will be collected and out of my way today and tomorrow.
My small (cheap) desk came for using in my bedroom to hold my pc while I sort out the spare room. The instructions were all in tiny Chinese script but I still managed to put it together.
Lots of "stuff" from the spare room put away in the places were it should have been placed ages ago.
Charity shop bag started. I'm aiming to shift some of the things that have been sitting around for ages but don't actually get used. There aren't any charity shops open yet but bagging things up ready is a good start.
Take care all of you15 -
An enjoyable day.
1. Spent time walking round the garden. It looks good in the snow even the messy/ untidy areas.
2. Finished a while load of shredding. It's been done now.
3. Steak and wedges for tea. The steak was good and I cooked it!! Normally I'm not good at steak.
4. Finished watching The Fall.
5. Snooze on the sofa.14 -
Cold, cold, cold. No heating for last 3 days. Again. So my pleasures are.......
Imagining how I will have developed new skills (like wood gathering/chopping) for when I have my own home. In the meantime researching calor gas fires as I doubt the heating being fixed any time soon.
Stuck like Glue and I sharing lots of warming cuddles. Both appreciating each other even more. At the vets yesterday and my brother came with me. Felt so grateful just to have someone with me because despite all my attempts over 10 years to desensitise her, vet visits cause her extreme anxiety. We have tried everything. She had her booster shot.
Mum went for her vaccination. Dad went with her and just in passing mentioned the almost violent reaction he had and how he is still not feeling well. Unexpectedly they took it seriously and he has an appointment with doctor. I am relieved because I have never known my Dad to be this unwell for this long.
Once again, Thank you NHS.
Warm, warm, warm hugs to all
