1) Clean and tidy house, top to bottom today and the ironing is done too!
2) DD1 texted to say that FINALLY after many years of pleading with the council the extremely large Black Poplar Trees in the park behind her back garden fence that have been dropping HUGE broken branches on her garden, shed and greenhouse with quite some damage are being taken down by tree surgeons this morning.....Frieda thinks it's fantastic as she likes the men in the tree and the machinery.
3) It isn't snowing.
4) I made a big batch of vegetable stew yesterday so lunch is already made and just needs heating up.
5) Coffee.....possibly followed by more Coffee later on...11 -
'Stuck Like Glue' and I went for a walk in the snow. She loved it. In fact she is driving me potty with implorations to go out in the garden, Again and again and again..........

Good afternoon
Bala - Good to see you
S Sue - sending hugs
It's a glorious sunny afternoon with the snow melting fast.
I'm making a new-to -me recipe for keema curry. Think there will be enough for all the street with some left over though the recipe says for 4! Never mind. It will freeze.
Finished watching The Serpent. Scary story but I found the jumping about timeline very irritating. I would have given up but DH wanted to see it through. Done now! So that's a pleasure!
Finished reading the last of the Shetland books - love Jimmy Perez !Now starting a DCI Banks story I seem to have missed. And then P DJames books were 99p on kindle the other day. I think I've read them all but it's ages ago, so I bought a few for old times' sake. So plenty to keep me going for a while
Happy 🌞 day everyone15 -
Good afternoon all, pleasures for yesterday....
Still no snow.
We had to go out for a hospital appointment but it's not far up the road, it was sunny and I managed to park fairly close by.
The HT wanted a label printed for something. I found my old label maker which still had printing tape in it and it worked.
No work due to a change in rota for this week so I had a hot bath and put my pjs on early.
My electric blanket. I'm always cold - I could actually do with a heated suit that I just plug in wherever I sit down
Take care all of you

1. Foolish rhubarb, drowned and frozen rainbow chard. Love you both though I do, you're up too early - back to bed till Spring.
2. Made strange sausage rolls, with très flash emporium innards incorporating apricot and almonds, rtc 19p/450gms, plus beetroot salad, rtc 13p, a gorgeous combination....super yum on a snowy day.
3. Laundry out, laundry in. Finished indoors before more snow. Always a good feeling. Fresh out, but beautiful and good for soul, much walking out back. Bird feeders replenished. Many more chaffinches this winter.
4. Listening to tennis, Oz open, r5lx. If only Rafa can. If only loathsome Djokovic can't.
5. Best for last. Look at these, wonderful Made Objêts, made for & by clever ES of our remarkable Frith:
A stunning 2nd spoon, longer-handled and very finely done, this one. Just love it. Above, a perfect-for-keys miser's pouch, drawstring+twig toggle, brilliantly worked in soft olive leather. I am so lucky to have these things. Love, love, love them ❤💚🧡🤎❤

Hello. Oh the days are stretching out bit by bit each day lighter than the next.
Woke to snow but only a light dusting for us. Been little flurries all day but not came to much.
Drove to work as had loads of food to take in. Way to much to carry. Did a couple more hours of catering.Home and semester two has started so ‘my classes’ are all different! Usually politics on a Tuesday but it was psychology ! ( DD2 zoom college) I listen in as I potter around! We went a lovely snowy walk ( got a bit blustery with snow at times) with the doggy and DD2 who was not one bit moany today! Fields were mainly hard frosted to walk through...the occasional soggy bits. Then we walked down to work. DD2 had ordered lunch and cake. We met friend/colleague who’s just had baby on the way back so we walked with her. DD2 took her doggy and I pushed pram on the way uphill going back. was nice to see her.
Had a snoozette! Have tried to watch Casualty about 5 and kept dozing off so have managed to finish watching.Just waiting on keys for the morning then it will be shower and jammies ( after a quick doggy walk) and a much earlier bed than last night.House Elf there’s a chap nearby with greyhounds. ( always rescue dogs) who for years ( since 2006) we called Greyhound Man...as in there’s Greyhound Man going by. I saw Greyhound Man today. When I was moving back in 2017 DD1 had said I wonder if Greyhound Man is still there. Do you know he was the very first person I saw when I looked out my bedroom window! Anyway I now know him by his real name ( though still Greyhound Man in my head) as he’s a regular customer ( in the days when you could have customers inside) at work. I’m still amazed I did not know they can’t sit! Do they just plonk down to a lying position?12 -
Quick visit to wish Ampersand a positive visit to horsepickle for early op, hope all goes well x14

& Great cosy photo’s
1 Really not much to report today, but made sure the birds had access to food and water and got to watch the woodpecker on the feeder again.
2 Made a turkey mince base, used broccoli and a little rice to make a meal. Day 3 proper made meals only, not that I am counting or anything!
3 I placed a couple of orders that I have been sitting on for about a month waiting until we actually needed to order them.
4 Appreciating being inside in the warm with hot drinks.
5 About to dig into a book.
