Hello Peeps,
Boazu - So many things to be thankful for. 🙂
Mhags - We have 2 greyhounds 🙄 We got Monty first......He was very quiet, and we thought he was a bit depressed and lonely on his own, so we got Milly for a bit of company. Turns out he is just a quiet, self contained chap, who now has to put up with Milly, who wants to race, play and get into mischief! 🤣 Love them ❤️Sunday
1. eBay parcel posted and a few more things listed.2. Spice jars refilled and rationalised.
3. Roast dinner for tea. Everyone ate well.
4. Masses of washing done, but had to stop, as drying is a problem.
5. Another dog bed made.Have a lovely evening 🙂In a world where you can be anything, be kind. (Caroline Flack)

Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Bit of a lie in.
2) 2 professional reports appeared. The speech therapy one was thorough, but a bit tame. I always have the worry that a) someone will assess smaller son and find a million things wrong or b) he’ll be assessed and there won’t be anything wrong at all - and that would be embarrassing...
Anyway, in the OT report, there are 2 different measures of what we would call life skills. He scored 2% in one test and less than 1% in the other. (That’ll explain why I’m so tired). There was a note of disgust about nothing ever being done to help him before, and his 3 years (in total) out of school. He’s now entitled to 5 x half hours of therapy a week, plus an assessment to get proper computer software, plus social skills classes. County will rue the day they ever annoyed me! I don’t know if this gives me more leverage to try and get something for post 18. Only in the last year have I started to say “oh, I stop at home because my son is disabled”. Well, now he really is, so I shan’t feel like I’m exaggerating when I say it. He’s been a grumpy, swearing ball of fury today, so I haven’t mentioned any of it. I still have no idea how to get him back to college.
3) Bigger son and I dropped the eggs off for our neighbour, fed the hens, put the old clothes in the clothes recycling thing and got bread and milk from Sainsbury’s.
4) We then walked along the bank of the Severn (in the silt!) for about an hour. Snow in the air but only a cm on the ground.
5) Also stopped at our medical centre to sign up to online appointments. (Not that we need one at the moment, but it will be useful for bigger son when his apprenticeship starts).
6) I’ve lost 3lbs. That’s 19lbs so far this year.
7) In bed with hwb and will watch Would I Lie To You? later.
In worrying news, my mum’s sister (80) and her husband have Coronavirus. They’re in the US (lived there 60 years) so we’re not sure of the protocol there. They had not been vaccinated yet. Mum’s family is so small she has more children than other relations combined.12 -
Well done on the weightloss, Frith, that's an astounding amount. Also well done on getting this far with Smaller son's assessments.
Pleasures for today
1. Another job applied for and another one found to apply for.
2. read a bit of my new book ("A Del of a life" by David Jason - it's a bit meh, but readable enough).
3. Made aubergine pasta bake for tea - singing along to a favourite band from my student days.
4. The log delivery came so we spent an hour shifting them round the back
5. looking forward to long lost family.
Have a great evening folks.I wanna be in the room where it happens13 -
I’ve just skimmed through your posts as running out of battery but hope everyone okay.I should be asleep. I’ve just sat at table and done a pile of paperwork for work. My brain is ever so slightly scrambled. But it’s done for now. We have a huge weekend with Valentine’s Day catering and whoever suggested catering for pancake day should be hung, drawn and quartered...oh that would be me! ( and did I really suggest something for Mothers Day? Oooft! Anyway we are glad of the business and most certainly in current climes...mustn’t grumble really! So it was a worky day. A very long one. Almost 11 hours. But another fun day. Music on , bit of laughter and chatter.Very early doggy walk and all crisp and cold but a dry cold so that was okay. The grass was crunchy and not muddy. Much sniffing done by doggy.
Now if I’d been at home I’d have had a washing hung out such was the brightness and the breezyness of the day but alas I wasn’t and DD2 did not think to actually put the washing in the machine nor switch it on! Grrrr.
A friend had asked a favour of me which I was more than happy to oblige. So did that after work. Then popped in to friend/colleague who’s just had a baby. Was dropping something off. Gave it to her husband. Jumped in car and got called back to see baby at doorway, absolutely beautifully adorable! Then finally home. A hello from my doggy. Where have you been? I’ve missed you. I’ve missed you too. But I’m home now.Hot shower and jammies. Mini snoozette for 30 minutes ( set alarm) then blooming paperwork!Received a parcel from DD1 with a book and a letter inside. So that was rather lovely.Right I’m up in a few hours ( think I’ll be going back to bed after early shift tomorrow!13 -
Boazu liking your additional pleasure, today I have re jigged our diets as we have fallen into bad habits, I find it hard as I am a snacker, but I’m now determined.
Firth, That is amazing weight loss.
1 Snow, a very pretty pleasure, there is nothing as pure as watching a ferret discover and tunnel through its first snow.
2 Freezer provided fish and leftovers made it a meal.
3 Went out to help some cars that were stuck.
4 Making sure the birds and foxes were well fed.
5 The house is hoovered, bathroom cleaned, various wash loads etc, a pleasure that it’s done.

Morning Lovelies,
Frith - Sorry to be nosey, but do these assessments now, mean he has not had benefits in his own right? PiP? Carers allowance? Etc? .......those assessments will be very useful.Monday.....
1. Back to being a professional Passenger for DD's driving practice. It went well today, on the way to work and back again.
2. Collected an Olio on the way back.......out of date posh salt and pepper grinders. (Won't be alone in my herb and spice rack if it's out of date 🤣).
3. Sausage casserole for tea, with mashed potato.
4. Watched the last Wallender. We will miss travelling to Sweden every night.
5. DH and I had a little outing to local shopping park. Collected our Sainsbury's Nectar Points, then Wilko for bird feeders. (Empty shelf, everyone had the same idea!). Then M&S for posh scones to make an afternoon tea hamper for a friends birthday. Rock and roll 🥳
Have a lovely day 🙂In a world where you can be anything, be kind. (Caroline Flack)

For yesterday,
Waking up and the bedroom was that kind of light that could only mean snow.
Small dog isn’t a fan of snow and despite her warm fleece coat was keen to turn for home, wrapped her in the towel from porch radiator and gently removed the snow pellets from her fluffy feet.
Made a loaf and chicken broth for lunch.
Long chat with DB, I had sent their household a box of cake goodies and received various pictures during the afternoon of mostly crumbs on plates, miss them all.
Equine girlie and her pals had had a duvet day so was snug as a bug in her rugs, did some carrot stretches with her and generally cosseted.
