Recent pleasures:
OH finished early on Monday as snow meant he couldn’t do much on the country park except empty bins.
I made a leftover pie 🥧 with turkey bits, stuffing, veg and herby pastry - it’s become one of our favourites 😊
OH off on Tuesday as work couldn’t be done, he had to use annual leave.
Showed him how to make a beef casserole in the slow cooker, (he doesn’t cook), which we enjoyed for dinner with a glass of red wine 🍷
Started on son’s current year accounts, this is something of a miracle as they don’t usually get started until tax return has to be done!
cosy afternoon watching tv with OH, we watched an episode of Auf Wiedersehn Pet, the one with the Middlesbrough transporter bridge, look forward to watching more.
PS the Julia Bradbury Cornwall tonight is the episode where OH was standing on the terrace of our cottage at Cadgwith Cove whilst they were filming on the beach. Will be watching eagle eyed to see if we catch a glimpse of him 😀14 -
For yesterday,
Was up and at’em early doors to get to emporium for weekly shop, nice and quiet so a little time to browse, treated us to a piece of wild salmon for tea.
A mini thaw and we can see grass again, some sunshine as well so spent a bit of time outside tidying and refilling the bird feeders, Squirrel Nutkin has done for the seed feeder so scattered some on the floor which prompted a visit from the partridges. There was also a flock of field fares just the other side of the hedge.
My sleep isn’t so good at the moment so an afternoon snooze on the sofa under the throw.
A new recipe to me, a pineapple & hoisin crust / sauce over the salmon, wasn’t 100% sure when it went in the oven but oh my that was tasty.
Watched a programme about Darcy Bussell visiting the Isle of Skye, haven’t been since my childhood but added to the list now.

Morning all
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Work was worked. It went ok, better than last week anyway as at least i didn't end the day in a foul mood.
2. Fish pie for tea, one of my favourite comfort foods
3. A walk around the snowy block at lunchtime.
4. Read some of my book - decided there are bits i can skip as i just don't get on with the style but some of the information is interesting (It's David Jason's book).
5. Family film night - DH's choice of "Selma". Extremely hard hitting but brilliantly done.
Have a great day all - work has been worked for today so i'm off round the block again in a second.I wanna be in the room where it happens13 -
1) A walk setting out in softly falling snow along the footpaths and lanes.
2) Coming home in warming sunshine when it stopped afterwards, lovely!
3) Hazel catkins unfurling in all the hedgerows and beginning to show yellow and leaf buds swelling on the branches they're hanging on.
4) Hot Coffee to warm us up.
5) Sheepskin slippers to warm up cold toes!9 -
Another bright cheerful day
Ampersand - fingers crossed all went well today, and that you can now cross fingers and do thumbs up!
'Bubble' friend came for coffee and to sign LPA as certificator or whatever it's called! It was nice to have 'company '! Cleaned up specially and made cherry scones.
She also lent me the latest Lee Child book so will tackle that soon.
After seeing The Serpent off, we are now ploughing through The Drowning. Disbelief needs leaving outside the door but again, want to know how it ends! Watched 'Would I Lie to You' then to cheer us up. Love it!
BLT for tea so that's easy enough.
Happy bright day everyone

Good afternoon all,
& I hope all is well with you
BoP I'm looking forward to the stroganoff recipe.
Pleasures for yesterday.....
Jumping back into bed after breakfast for 10 minutes just to warm up (it's colder downstairs because of the french windows).
The HT hoovering his own bedroom (M is for mum, not for maid).
No gallstone or stomach pain. I'm eating very small sensible meals. My stomach hurts more often than my gallbladder but yesterday was a good day.
Work was easy with no problems. I give my LAP his dinner on the wekday evenings that he's here and he loves food. He's an absolute pleasure to cook for (he's also very skinny).
I nearly forgot a pleasure from last week. The HT and I don't have anyone to look after the HT overnight if I have to go into hospital. Best friend has said not to worry as they will be here in two weeks (for good) and have offered to come and stay here if I need medical treatment. Offered without being asked which is more than any of my family have ever done. It means a lot.
Take care all of you and an extra hug for SSue and family13 -
Pleasures so far today....
Waking up knowing I have the next six days off, only spoilt by having a 20kg Border Collie trying to sit on my head.
Covid test negative (done twice weekly).
Walk in the park, lots of snow about, dog in her element. Met up with black cocker spaniel puppy friend, the two dogs charged around like lunatics whilst the humans talked.
Getting fresh fruit and veg from the van that comes round weekly.
Home made sticky toffee pud at lunchtime.
Work Zoom meeting, learnt that poorly colleague is out of ITU and recovering from Covid on a general ward.
Sitting in a warm living room, scented tealights burning, watching the falling snow outside. So glad I don't have to drive in it.One life - your life - live it!14
