That did make me smile DD.
For yesterday.
1 X rays at local hospital today, as part of a check-up, a nice friendly chatty x ray person also.
2 Budget planning and food planning. It’s purposely tight this month as it’s short, the planning makes me feel a little bit in control at least.
3 Re stocked all of the bird feeders, a definite pleasure seeing them come back down for it.
4 I’ve just spent 2 hours chatting up with DB.
Back later for today,

Pleasures today, both experienced and anticipated.
Beautiful snow, but not too much.
Dog charging around in the park in the snow.
Drove ten miles for hospital appointment but got a phone call when nearly there. It seems a big blunder happened with the appointment letters, and all the appointments for my clinic were meant to be by phone and not in Outpatients. The pleasure? A pleasant informal chat with the consultant over the phone in the comfort of my own home. Also, the journey may have been a wasted one, but I had a pleasant drive in a nice warm car, snowflakes gently fluttering, beautiful snowy landscape all around me. Plus, the car had a bit of a run.
Home made rice pud at lunchtime.
Snuggled on sofa this afternoon watching Trading Places, as funny as when I watched it years ago.
Hearing online friend is much better. She had a serious medical emergency the other night, got sorted out by an emergency doctor coming out. All hail our emergency services.
Looking forward to Choir practice tonight. One life - your life - live it!15 -
Hello. Cosy inside. Blooming freezing outside. Been a bit rainy/sleety/snowy/currently rainy...apparently heavy snow forecast overnight. We’ll see what the early morning doggy walk brings.Up early for work ( and forget about a lie in on Thursday it ain’t happening).Went straight to supermarket after work. Got what was necessary and that was all ( daffodils are a necessity I think)
Big walk with my boy and it was the same weather as mentioned above and I’d forgotten my gloves so my hands were freezing. But he was a very good walk and had a run through fields so was a happy boy.
Then home to hoover and clean bathrooms and tidy up.Did a very small ironing...I used to iron everything and now I just don’t as I don’t really wear anything that needs ironed! However there were 2 linen shirts and some linen napkins ( from Christmas dinner!) that were to be ironed. Then I had an inspired idea to move the ironing board out if the laundry room ( where it annoys me) and put it the boys wardrobe so that if I do need to iron I can but it’s out the way.)
Rejigged the porch shelves so we are now all about love and valentines! A jug with a heart on it and two wee tea light holders with hearts on them. And some paper heart bunting. I’d still had some wintery things up so they’re now away!Had a very nice dinner, had bought a RTC lasagna and had a leftover baked potato from work ( hmmm stock building back up in freezer again, I just hate to throw them out at end of day at work) with parsnips, carrots, broccoli and baby corn. And a very nice chatter with DD2.Also had a lovely chatter on phone with DD1 after lunch today. And had chatted to the boy on Saturday. So everyone is alright. So I am too.Had video call with friend after dog walk. She’d called whilst I was out but was so windy and traffic-y...I’ll call you back soon! So that was nice to catch up with her.DD2 made cookies so just had two for pudding.
Keys have been dropped off so I can go and get my jammies on and get comfortable! Some slightly challenging catering tomorrow morning! I can do it!Have a lovely night x
Sue thinking of you all as always! I was rereading my journal from this time four years ago and it made for hard reading this afternoon. So much emotional challenge and so hard. Anticipatory grief was awful. The horror of what my husband was going through and being helpless really other than to just be there. So just be there and know we are all here for you now.
Ampersand is doing okay. I’d said I’d let you all know. I remember how frustrating it was to lose posts often when I lived in Australia. You put your heart and soul in to it and pffft off it goes wherever it goes to and you’d just think I actually can’t write all that again!14 -
Evening all - i'm in a foul mood so maybe i need to find some pleasures
For yesterday
1. walked into town with OH to collect a new toaster and popped into poundland. Took the wally trolley and walked 4 miles in all
2. yoga in the morning - though it made me feel rather sick due to sinus pressure
3. my lecture did not take as long to sort as i feared.
4. cheese and lentil loaf for tea
5. had a zoom with friends in Wales
And today
1. Work happened - am not liking this online delivery at all. WOuld rather be 'going' to work
2. took a walk at lunchtime to calm myself
3. sent off my ancestry DNA sample - will be interested to see if some family mysteries can be resolved
4. family film night - DD's choice of Sherlock Holmes with RDJ
5. Started my new book of The Thursday Murder Club
6. Am looking forward to bed and for this day to be over.
Have a good night all.I wanna be in the room where it happens15 -
Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) A lie in.
2) Tidied up and cleaned the bathroom.
3) Hens OK.
4) More SEND ridiculousness. I did think of BoP while I was telling incredibly well paid professionals AGAIN what is going on. I got a call at 4pm that smaller son was going to have an online OT assessment at 7pm... The OT had not been told by his solicitor that smaller son is not at college, has selective mutism and can’t deal with phone calls/online chats. So a good waste of everyone’s time this evening. This is tax payers money as the NHS OTs aren’t seeing patients (!) Anyway, i now have some forms to fill in so her report will basically be my completely untrained assessment of him.
5) College sent a chap round with yet more exam practise papers. I had an overwhelming urge to frisbee them all down the garden, as smaller son refused to even pick up a pen last week. I think my narrowed eyes were noticed as they’re not going to send any more.
Thats it!13 -
1. Hopefully helped two colleagues who were both having tough days. Both in tears. I listened mainly.
2. There should be an online meeting today about proposed 6 day working. We were told about it late Monday and managers and union reps can't be there due to leave, sickness and short notice. Hopefully due to these the meeting will be cancelled.
3. Saw a couple of patients which is always good Angelo was given.
4. Sorted my car park pass at work.
5. Pleased to get home.14 -
Thanks for letting us know about Ampersand Mhags. For yesterday,
Doing the weekly shop and trying to concentrate as on tenterhooks with Capt S being at the hospital, some rtc cake may have made it into my trolley.
Beloved came home with a sackful of goodies from the pharmacy. Consultant is not convinced that is as GP suspects, due mainly to his relatively young age, and has arranged for more blood tests to see if the inflammatory indicators have improved after taking tabs for a week or so. Care is needed as medication lowers his immune system, what a worry.
Walking equine girlie in hand up to school and she decided that best thing to do is stop in the middle of the biggest puddle and paw at the water, oh well didn’t want dry jeans anyway!
Home and cake was consumed with tea.
A milder evening and the stars were out, a faint whiff of spring in the air.14 -
Early too ...
