Pleasures yesterday.
A relaxing start to the day, knowing it was the first of ten days off. In bed, radio 2, senior cat cuddled up, lemon and ginger tea beside me.
Did lateral flow Covid test, negative.
Jolly walk in the park, dog gleefully chasing her ball, birds singing their heads off. But oh, was it muddy! Had to put dog outside back door on return, chuck water over her legs and give her a good rub down. It was a good opportunity to have a talk with her, asking her if she enjoyed her walk.
Laundry basket attacked, bedlinen changed.
Chip shop fish and chips for lunch, nice. We had one big conference pear left, quite ripe. I peeled it, cut it in two halves and cored it. It simmered in a generous splodge of brandy for about three minutes then each half was put in a serving bowl. A 100gm bar of chocolate was melted in the brandy to make a sauce. Pear half, generous scoop of good vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce poured over the pear and around the bowl, toasted almonds sprinkled over. An easy but impressive dessert for two.
Choir practice sitting at the computer.
Supermarket trip to smaller supermarket, quite busy but everyone being spatially aware. Treated us to a small cast iron griddle pan. Now I can be posh and have stripes on my steak.
Evening shower using gorgeous soap made by a friend.
Lying on sofa, glass of Merlot, mindless telly (Hairy Bikers cookery programme) and catching up with online friends. One life - your life - live it!12 -
1. Went to Community fridge. Managed to get tinned tomatoes amongst other things.
2. Sorted out some of the piles of stuff lying about. Been strict with putting everything away.
3. Had chicken ,leek and pea bake with leeks from the garden.
4. Phone call with my parents.
5. Watched rugby. Pleased I wasn't supporting Bath.

Epic post as always DFV
Sutton Hoo is fab and well worth the visit HE, will make sure we catch the film.
For yesterday,
He hadn’t been asked to do so but Capt S thought it only right that he had a pre-hospital visit test so one was booked for 9.30am, his was the only car in the place and he was seen immediately, all digits crossed for negative result.
Dog walk, longest she’s had since hip problems appeared at nearly 40 minutes but no obvious ill effects.
Veggie soup and cheese on toast for lunch.
Over at the yard, girlie was tucking into her hay net when I arrived and everywhere is so waterlogged that I just gave her a good groom. She then dozed while her Mum sat on the grooming box searching for a new fleece for madam, her current one is only 3 years old but already tight on her shoulders.
My number 5 and especially for Mhags and all my fellow dog lovers, it’s 3 years this week since we said goodbye to our old lady and thought you would like to see my favourite picture of her at her favourite place, the beach. Do miss my big old bear of a dog ❤️17 -
Good morning all, pleasures for yesterday....
My little sister was married yesterday. She's been with her now husband for 16 years but husband number one was so awful it's taken her a while to come round to the idea of being married again. Thankfully this husband is lovely and nothing like the first one.
HT still in a good mood. He was chatting to several of his friends yesterday which cheered him up no end.
I did some more knitting - it's easier in daylight because the wool is black.
I'm eating better. Still small meals and very low fat (thank you gallstone) but better by which I mean more variety.
Online gaming with the HT and my best friend. Couple of hours of chat and laughter.
Take care all of you

Hello. Was up and at ‘em early this morning. Another two and a half hours done.
Had a nice walk very early with my doggy. Just us and the birds and a very bright moon and sparkling stars and a crisp frost.
Then a day most lazy. Conserving my energy for a full on day tomorrow.Watched Marcella. Hmmmm. Intense then a tad disappointing ending.Been bright but such an icy wind . Did a bit of tidying in the garden. Weeds. Moss. Kicking the football for the dog. Then it was just too cold.Had some pasta for dinner.10
