Happy birthday for yesterday Bala - did I get it right this time?
sorry you have so much going on, it sounds stressful.
I've been so ridiculously busy with work, checking in here is a really nice break as I'm not getting much contact with the world, other than work. It was book club last night and I missed it. Seems like I work, feed the troops, clean up, look after the baby, go to sleep, get woken up by baby several times, wake up, feed everyone again and repeat the process. And the house is grubby looking again...argh! Chatted to DH about it last night whilst peeling spuds and we are just going to try and enjoy this phase. Enjoy Roo being a baby, and home cooking, and walks at the weekend, and we can't hope for much more than treading water outside of that. So, in short, trying to be kind to ourselves. A couple of years ago I was CrossFitting 5X per week, DH was cycling 25+ miles a day and we were going to French class and all sorts of other things. But we're in a different phase now, and that's OK.
Anyway, ramble ramble...pleasures
1. Food. Naughty food last night. HM chips, vegan nuggets, beans, corn on cob. MIL make HM vegan sponge pudding which we had after dinner with custard. Yum.
2. Baby being a delight last night and really playing quietly with blocks for the first time. He's 11 months and it's a joy to watch him learn.
3. Remembered to drink water and take vitamins yesterday, must do same today.
4. Both stressed with work, but coping. And that's great.
5. Watching a few mins of a film this morning with DD (12) and a cuppa.15 -
Happy birthday Bala!

Happy birthday House Elf. Hope there's cake involved at some stage.
Hugs to those with medical worries or worried about others' medical problems. Lots of people in one of those categories at the moment.
But good to hear of more people being vaccinated. DH and I are in the current cohort, but at the lower end of the age range. Not heard anything yet but there were mutterings about diverting the vaccine to other, less efficient, areas. Am sure our turn will come soon.
Supermarket trip this morning. V quiet, well organised and nothing in short supply except plain flour. Plenty of SR tho!
Chilli bubbling away for tea so nothing to do for a while but read my book.
Happy what's left of Wednesday everyone

In at work for just over an hour this morning. Enjoyed just being on my own with the radio on...same again tomorrow. Not liking the early alarm clock though.Big doggy walk when I came home. Was all wrapped up in layers but it was actually quite mild.
Then I did my litter picking. Two very full bin liners. Met three sets of people I knew whilst out so chatted with them. Then time to go to the third hospital in eight days! Each time a different hospital. Another appointment for DD2.Home via McD and almost in a food coma went for a lie down.I’d ordered boots from Schuh imperfects yesterday and they came today. Loving my new green boots!Left something out at front door for someone to pick up after a no show at weekend. So another little bit of decluttering done.

Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) A lie in.
2) Hens ok.
3) Went to the bank to pay smaller son’s Christmas money in, then Sainsbury’s.
4) Brought in logs that have been in the boot of my car for weeks! Enough snow had gone that I could pull up outside the house.
5) Tidied up and cleaned the fridge.
6) Casserole and veg for tea.
7) Just discussing new mattresses with smaller son. They had to upgrade to an extra long bunk bed years ago (not easy to find) and bigger son has an extra long mattress but smaller son had to make do with his mattress with pillows shoved in the gap! Now he is nearly 3 inches taller than bigger son and his feet are completely off the end of his mattress, it has to be done...13 -
Tough day at work but I'll try for 5.
1. A colleague was in annual leave.
2. Painkillers made me not care about work.
3. Unexpected text from a friend. Asking how I was.
4. No work till Monday.
5. Cooked tea rather than finding something from the freezer.14 -
For yesterday,
Felt like a productive day which is always a pleasure, hoovered & dusted upstairs then did the bathrooms.
Went for a walk with small dog, much milder than of late and had to undo my coat towards the end.
Time at the yard and lunged equine girlie in the school, she was full of the joys of spring and it was akin to holding onto an excitable kite 🤣
Used up the last of the weekends chook in an apple & chicken bake for tea.
Going up and down the stairs five times before bed to get me over the daily target of 10k steps.14
