Thanks PK (and everyone really)
Other than the tulips I had a surprise gift from my cousin. A bunch of roses and a mini box of chocolates. It's like buses, they all come at once. Am thrilled. Had forgotten how much pleasure flowers in the house provides.
Had our first delivery for months, fish and chips, was delicious. We rarely get take-aways because everyone (including myself) prefers my cooking. Work that one out !tee-hee
Haven't been feeling great the last few months. Initially thought I had caught a bug but the light headedness, chest pains (gripping, fluttering) and headaches have got worse. So finally spoke to doctor and have appointment and a blood test (arghhh) on Thursday. He is not worried about my heart......so I'm not. He has put that down to anxiety. Did tell him that I don't feel anxious but apparently it doesn't work that way. I do know that there is part of my brain that is constantly on worry alert. My Dad did react badly after taking vaccine. Ambulance called. Brilliant paramedics (once again). Mum said it was like having 2 doctors in the house. He is now still in bed and on antibiotics for blood in his urine. (I think). I am waiting for results from Royal Marsden (my SIL, lumps that were aspirated). I do know that I am worried about that but my aches and pains started months before. Anyway, have put off calling Doctor all this last year and given a choice would really like help with my hip also. Let's see what happens.
This forum has been a godsend this last year. This thread (and now one other) is a great source of comfort.
Thank You
X

Good morning! Up early for another catering gig so just going to walk dog as far as the post box as DD1 had something sent here instead of hers .We spent our Burns Day on Monday texting in Scots rhyme.I made chocolate cookies with a dip into coconut for the next day on our calendar which is Australia Day. Usually make lamington cakes but they’re such a faff and the main Lamington eaters don’t live here any more.Had work in the morning. Just for an hour.
Then it was operation get my mother in the car ...a pavement of the slippiest of ice separating her and my car. I was sliding backwards down the slope. Ended up getting a bath towel and laying that down for her to step on to get to car...same in reverse order but slippier as it was then raining! Anyway she has now had her first vaccination.
Had been to supermarket straight after work and eventually got everything put away. It’s amazing how much cheaper I am without a hungry lad living here!Bought an RTC bunch of pretty flowers and a couple of bunches of cheery daffodils.Lovely chat with friend on phone.Snoozette...and I woke with a no way have I slept that long (about 2 hours) but all these early rises catch up.Just the company of my doggy is always a joy. He’s just a constant companion.Right I’d better get a wriggle on! Have a happy Wednesday!13 -
Bala hope output doctor finds a cause and it is easily sorted.
1. Work, not at main site, busy but was good. We were ignored again.
2. It was someone's birthday and she brought in lunch and cake. Very sociable.
3. New carpet fitted in stairs and landing. It looks great.
4. Had a pear cider and enjoyed it. I don't normally drink it but was left over from Christmas.
5. Still enjoying my daffodils - they have lasted a long time and cost £1 a bunch so for £2 well worth the money.13 -
Happy Birthday Bala, 🎂 and Happy Birthday to me for today 🎂
Recents......
1. Took the LO sledging. He actually had a go!.... Although, the 20 somethings had more fun 🤣...... The view from the top of the hill was beautiful, it was like being in the countryside.2. Good warming winter food has been very popular with the troops.3. Some good rtc bargains in MrL......Mince and wine 🤣
4. Bought some clothes in the Seasalt sale. (Birthday money and Christmas money). I shall try to do the same as I did in the summer, and bring out one new thing every month, so it feels like going shopping 🙂
5. Big review meeting yesterday. We passed!
Vaccination booked for today. ( Frontline Carers). Followed by celebratory free Caffè Nero. We know how to party.
Have a lovely day 🙂In a world where you can be anything, be kind. (Caroline Flack)

Sending many Happy Birthday wishes HE, great news on getting the vaccine.
Likewise for your Mum Mhags.
For yesterday,
Capt S off for more blood tests and hoping that these will bring us more information, not really a pleasure as am worried about him but the care he is receiving is exemplary.
Took small dog for a longer walk than she has had for the last week or so, she seemed fine and enjoyed herself, although nearly disappeared down a large hole at one point, fox or badger....
Tasty lunch of chicken & avocado bagel with a rocket salad, followed by a kiwi, all about the green.
Long chat with my bf, just catching up on each other’s lives, miss her v much.
On the day when our country reached such a diabolical milestone the importance to find small pleasures in each day seems ever more important, thank you all for your company x

Good morning all,
Happy Birthday House_Elf.
Pleasures for yesterday...
I cleaned my bedroom. There's still a few things to be put away but I start work earlier on a Tuesday than I do on a Monday so I ran out of time.
The HT announced that he was fed up of not seeing/talking to his friends. The pleasure is that the lines of communication remain open so we could discuss it.
My boss noticed that I've lost weight. I've lost just over a stone since my best friend announced that he'd lost weight and was only 2 lbs heavier than me.
Hot bath after coming home from dropping looked after person to his mum. I was sooooo cold.
Knitting for a bit. I'm making my friend a hat. It's black with a cable pattern - that'll be interesting ha ha. Thank goodness for reading glasses.
Take care all of you

Many happy returns Bala
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Work got worked.
2. Started a new series on Netflix. More 'dirty old costumes' as OH calls them - this one is about Vikings and ye olde Englande. it's called The Last Kingdom
3. Jacket spud and chilli for tea
4. washing went in the drier - usually my pleasure is hanging it out but it's not doing much outside at the mo so i've decided not to be a martyr to it and shove it in the drier.
5. Watched the Da Vinci Code which was DS's choice for family film night. The film was tosh (sorry, if you're a fan!) but the heckling was fun
Have a great day all.I wanna be in the room where it happens15
