Just for the record I had a peri-anal abscess that took my breath away pain-wise. Wouldn't wish it on anyone. 2 operations later just keeping my fingers crossed that I won't see that again. Your horse must be in incredible pain Mehefin. Give it a kiss from me.

Jealous of those of you who had a Burns night supper. We couldn't find veggie haggis anywhere in Belfast, bizarrely, when back in SE England we could always find it! Too tired for whisky too with baby playing games at night at the mo.
Happy birthday for yesterday, bala, did your brother do anything in return for the spoiling you gave him earlier this month? I love horses too. Haven't ridden since I was a teen, my mum had them. I don't think I could cope with the upkeep but I like to be near them. My last boss had three (her and hubby were pentathlon Olympians and their girls rode) and she was up at the crack of dawn every morning before work. I did enjoy all her dressage and showjumping vids. Can't cope with the horse racing though. All the injuries seem like such a waste.
My pleasures:
1. MIL dropped off HM veggie sausage rolls and muhammara (red pepper and walnut dip) - if you haven't tried it, you must, it's delicious. So that was enjoyed for lunch with some salad past it's BB date.
2. Lunch had just now in front of a few mins of a flat earther documentary which gave me a giggle (Behind the Curve on Netflix)
3. RTC vegan hot cross buns and tea at 11am today
4. Last night we collected an IKEA toy kitchen, £60 new, with accessories absolutely free for baby Roo! Very chuffed as it's what I was going to buy. Also from same person collected a nursing pillow and tot seat for a neighbour whose just had a baby and is struggling, she was chuffed.
5. DH taking baby down at 6am this morning and giving me another hour. Will pay back by letting him pop off to bed early tonight. We just just surviving at the moment as Roo wants to be in our (double) bed all night and there isn't enough room.15 -

have checked RDA and nearest to me is 20 miles plus so not possible. HOWEVER, there is one really close to my parents. Am rubbing my hands with glee as it fits in with some of my dastardly plans. She laughs manically..............
Thank you everyone for super birthday wishes. I feel loved and thoroughly spoilt.

Happy birthday Bala. 21again, I guess! Have a lovely day x
Frosty morning and rainy afternoon put paid to convalescent walk with DD. Try again tomorrow. She should go for post-op consultation with the surgeon tomorrow but he is isolating, so it's been put back a fortnight. She's doing well anyway, so no worries really.
Still keeping up with Pilates. It certainly feels better to be moving a bit.
Curried veg tray bake with cod for tea. A favourite in this household. And I think treacle pud and custard for afters. Another favourite!
Happy rainy afternoon everyone13 -
Good afternoon all,
Happy Birthday Bala, your tulips sound perfect.
Pleasures for yesterday....
I deep cleaned the kitchen. Emptied the pantry, reorganised all the shelves, that kind of thing. The housework has taken a bit of a back seat while I've felt under the weather so I'll be doing the rest of the house too. I'm aiming for a room per day.
I made brownies for the HT once the kitchen was cleaned. Brownies are his favourite.
I had two eggs left that needed using up - the brownies fixed that so no waste.
The HT was given extra work by one of his teachers, He did it early and without complaining. This is almost unheard of.
A couple of hours online gaming with best friend, Unusual for a "school night" so a bit of a treat.
Take care all of you16 -
Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Smaller son’s college dropped off 2 workbooks. I can’t get him to open them but it was a nice thought.
2) Hens ok. The snow is melting slightly which makes walking down much easier.
3) I’ve signed up to do the Adult Mental Health First Aid course, which will be online in February.
4) Watched Holby City.
5) Had the stove lit since 3pm so it’s nice and warm.13 -
Just dropping in with some excellent laugh-out-loud on right now:

Happy Birthday Bala, enjoy those Tulips, ferret birthday hugs sent your way.
1 Urgh, the amount of sorting we have to do is daft I don’t like sending books on but it has to be done.
2 Had a takeaway on a voucher, lovely not to cook.
3 I put some food out for the birds and foxes.
4 I’ve seemingly spent a large amount of time today just getting up to date with washing, a pleasure a lot of it us done and put away.
5 I've just listened to Neil Gaimen reading Click Clack the rattle bag and was absolutely riveted.
