Change happened then, for another for years. Interesting too note that our Liz has now appointed 14 Governors inn the Colonies! She has so far out lasted them all! Be a bit tight this time? No oftens mes does that!
Well is nows forty one years since I swore my allegiance to Liz! Served in the Falklands crisis and Desert Shield, then the Gulf. Hectic, hence why I do not read the media. I have not done so since 21:33Z 1982-05-03. It was a Monday! Thirty years now since Storm! Though in the whole of my life, only two Governors of the Colonies have not taken the Colonies inn too another conflict! Nixon! and Trump! And if you include Eisenhower, three since the war! Was interesting that Eisenhower, a 5 star General with service in both world wars was circumspect about money and the power to influence. He was on about the Arms industry and if it got too much power. maybe he would look down now on the effect of FarceBuck and Twitser and their building up of people to tear them down. Having served, one takes another view of conflict!
Watched another flix on the net last evening, hence no watching the .. Handsome. Bit crude so & should avoid. Cheeses and lemonade was consumed. Crumpets and cocoa as well!
Now is mes usual elevenses with me mug of tee, and free proper choklate covered digestives! Bash is on as well!
BoP is at the Docks tomorrow so will be a ... Keep SafeTurn off the media, and make your own good!

Hello there
Hugs, S Sue
Fingers crossed, Cranky
Ampersand - Thank you for the poem. I actively avoid the news these days, so would have missed that. So young and so articulate!
Sunny today after three days of virtually non-stop rain. Have even pegged washing out. Feel as if I should do some gardening but there's a very cold wind. I'm afraid I'm a fair weather gardener.
More Pilates. Doesn't get any easier but determined to do the whole month. I'm doing two days then a day off to recover!
Can't think of much else. Will be sure to let you know when something exciting happens!
Happy 🌞 Thursday everyone

1. 2nd ½ of &'s 🍾 awaits. Contrary to popular belief, it stoppers well. Cork joyfully written on, as is &'s wont😁🥂.
2. Big Food Hub day yesterday, with bits fore and aft. First meant necessities>young Mum with covid, seen at a distant upstairs window. Shocking appearance. Basic milk, bathroom needs, paracetamol left. DG, circs had become known+help given. Now on FH radar.
3. Food Hub very, very busy. Dbl-masked, PPE'd, double-glubbed, sanitised, & gave, logged enough over 6hrs to help 93 families, CH area, Town of Gown, Lainey. Spacing and courtesies scrupulously observed. Final 3 crates of donated bread>Town of Horse=no waste and another urgent need met for another & connection.
4. Inauguration safely accomplished+2 verres. So good to hear, occasional faltering diction et al. Just in essence splendid, accompanied by Executive orders that matter. Lady Gaga now seen and heard by & on PBS🤗👏 - again relief for Joe and Kamala, again blurred vision.
5. &'s 2nd Lidl Cambridge incursion very gratifying. Few people, all well-behaved. Several bottles of an excellent 2018 Hawkes Bay pinot noir@small £s, plus rtcs to pass on AND a £5 OFF in-house code, which young Manager obligingly sorted👍. Well done he!

& will now check on what will be lovely thick veggie soup of best use-up kind. Listening, Bala?🙂

Thanks all, my tests haven't exactly shown what the problem is, but there was nothing nasty showing. I have repeat blood tests to be done in a month to see if my liver enzymes have changed. They were perfect at the end of May but I had a week of being very poorly in September which I think was the start of this latest problem. I do have a gallstone but there's not much that can be done about that just now.
Lainey I hope that small dog feels better soon. BoP I'm off all fats for now but I agree with you about processed stuff. P-K I hope you don't have covid..
Pleasures for yesterday....
The HT is feeling better now his 6 month course of horrible medication has finished
Post arrived. It's been a bit hit and miss lately. There were no bills or mean letters either.
Home made raspberry jam - yum
Being indoors safe and warm while it rained. So many people couldn't say the same and I feel so sorry for anyone flooded out of their home.
My computer - I'm so lucky to be able to communicate with so many lovely caring people (that includes the folks on this thread).
Take care all of you14 -
Hi Guys,
Just going to give hugs to all, as I have missed so much. ❤️& - Thank you for the link to the poem. We missed the inauguration 🙄
Recents
1. Watched Misbehaviour. Excellent! I will have to watch it again, as I did spend a lot of the film looking at the fashions, marvelling at how brown everything was, and nudging DH to say 'Remember that?'.......I would have been the same age as the little girl in the film. 🤣
2. A glass of Prosecco to toast the new President. 🥳......We did have an inauguration meal of burgers followed by Moms Apple Pie.
3. I have set up my sewing machine in DS2 bedroom. A couple of small projects completed, makes me happy..........though it does remind me how much I miss him. ☹️ (He would absolutely love the snowy bike riding Frith. He is also keen on wild camping 🙄).4. The new car has arrived. Another electric car, but with twice the battery range. I am soooooooo excited.
5. DD is cooking dinner. So nice not to have to cook.
Have a lovely evening 🙂In a world where you can be anything, be kind. (Caroline Flack)

Cranky so glad there was nothing horrible found. I echo you on computer, communicating and lovely people.
Amp...........of course I am listening !
This morning I boiled Tiggy her chicken and veg but lately she has either been ignoring the veg or picking it up and chucking it out of the bowl. My Murphy used to delicately pick the peas up and put them on the floor next to his bowl. Never knew that a Staffie could be so delicate. But then that reminds me of Max, a boxer, who caught a piece of BLT I dropped. He chewed it and only spat out the lettuce and tomato. Unchewed !
Anyhoo...........this morning decided to whizz/blend the veg and juice. She lapped that up. Later when I went to clean the pan it had solidified into a jelly so I gave her some, which she ate. I have now decided to use all of this loveliness (including skins and gristle) to create a stock for use in food for humans. I need to buy an ice tray. Amp.........if I'm on the wrong track let me know..........
Sue, as always sending you my love.
Have a warm comforting evening........

Did make me think of the mares who seem to be able to sift the various grasses and chuck out the ones that they don't like15 -
Evening all
Cranky - glad that nothing nasty was found in any case. hope you get answers soon
Pleasures for today
1. i was unsuccessful after my job interview - this is a pleasure as i didn't really want the job, unless it could be on my (quite exacting) exact terms. Slightly tempered by the fact that being rejected is never fine!
2. a nice walk in bright sunshine - only to the post office and the long way back but was pleasant none the less.
3. Marking pile reducing
4. yoga session
5. Fried seabass in garlic for tea - nom
Have a great evening all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens14 -
Grrr to just losing a post! Was up and out very early for work. Walked there on frosty pavements and walked back on snowy ones. It’s been a bright but breezy day! What a cold cold wind.Made scones when I got home.Dropped some off at a friends. Doorstep delivery.
Watching Finding Alice. Not sure if it’s a drama or a black comedy? But can relate as a widow to some of the issues...bank lady screaming at me ‘you need probate!’ Legally I did not, however I just happened to be with the only bank in Australia that insisted! And the choosing of a coffin and how nothing really prepares you for that. Like it’s a pair of trainers you’re choosing. Other stuff seems a tad far-fetched!Made mince and potatoes for a very early tea as DD2 was working. Had RTC Romanesque and cabbage and carrots...did not have pastry...that turned out to be over cooked chicken! ( was wrapped up in a bag in the freezer! ) Dog had chicken!Hoovered after detangling very long hair wrapped round the brushes ...not me said DD2 ( who has long hair) well definitely not me ( who has short hair)
Hairy dog going through a very hairy stage as he does a few times a year. He tolerates brushing quite well but went and got a chew toy...obviously realised he was in for the long haul.Just off a zoom call doing a facial. Was a free event and my skin feels nice and soft.14 -
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Got housework done smoothly.
3) Hens OK.
4) 2 builders popping round tomorrow now about the leaking window/wall.
5) A very useful parcel waiting for me at the post office.
6) Popped to Sainsbury’s.
7) Roast veg and halloumi bake for tea. Smaller son now has a halloumi obsession!
8) In bed with hwb. Have watched First Dates so will catch up with Winterwatch just now.13
