Thank goodness for nice dogs!Had to take mum to hospital this afternoon. Beautiful sunset as we came out. It was stunning.Nipped into supermarket & got some Rtc veggies.16

Cranky thoughts with you for tomorrow.
Welcome Chubby Unicorn
1 Dreaded virus test done and returned as we’ve run temperatures.
2 4 loads of animal bedding washed.
3 I planted some seeds and bought them inside, so in theory, a pepper plant, salad leaves and watercress. So at least trying in proper seed soil as well.
4 Shopping delivered and left on the doorstep, it was all there and fresh. t
5 A very long conversation with DB, we chatted somehow about anything and everything, we do marvel about the subjects we seem to cover.

Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) A teacher came round from smaller son’s college. I thought I would be interrogated as to why is refusing to attend. Just had some work thrust at me. Which he will refuse to do.
2) Hens ok.
3) Went into town for Lidl and a new climbing rope for bigger son.
4) Watched the inauguration though had to laugh at Garth Brooks (?) and his silly walk. I think he was trying to look manly but he looked like he’d wet himself!
5) Bigger son made the tea.
6) About to watch Winterwatch.
Here is a wintry video of bigger son, taken a week or so ago:

Welcome chubby unicorn
Frith love the snowy video
Cranky thinking of you today.
1. Boss rang me to say I would be working by myself. I had assumed I would be but did ask as I had 2 people work to do!
2. Various text messages with friends.
3. Had lunch with people I don't often see. It was good getting another perspective on things. Made me feel that my feelings about the situation are ok and not as strange as others seem to think.
4. DH bought mussels for tea. They were good and so easy to cook.
5. My daffodils are looking very good.16 -
Welcome Chubicorn.
Thinking of Cranky today and hoping she gets the answers she needs.
For yesterday,
Small dog improved during the day and by the evening her eyes were bright & shiny again, she is on an anti inflammatory painkiller for 5 days.
Also on minimum exercise, how hard is that for an energetic spaniel! Especially one that won’t do her No2 business in her own garden ( sorry if tmi ) but a gentle meander just out of the gate and under the beech trees did the trick.
Much milder than recent days and equine girlie got warm working but she was a little treasure and fully deserved her treat, she then had another one as needed to worm her and, going by the faces pulled, it tasted foul.
Then home and settled down to watch the inauguration ceremony, particularly impressed by the young Poet Laureate and the quiet dignity of the new President & VP after the circus of the last few years.A worldwide collective sigh of relief.
A Bolognese pasta bake for tea with plenty of leftovers.17 -
Frith that video is SO cool. Makes me sad that I'm not brave enough to do anything that fun
My pleasures:
1. MORTGAGE OFFER on our next house. So excited. But also daunted by the scale of house and land now, the last house we bought was only ~800sqft. Any ideas what to do with a full sized snooker room?
2. Project I'm leading hit Private Eye yesterday. Bit of excitement at the dinner table, heh.
3. Takeaway last night to celebrate aforementioned mortgage offer. Always find takeaway a wee bit disappointing but really glad I don't have to decant fried oil etc this morning. Plus at the new place we won't have the plethora of eateries to choose from.
4. Watching How to Get Away With Murder with a wee bourbon and a baby on the breast (thank goodness we're allowed to drink and breastfeed now!)
5. Having a lovely husband who took the baby down first thing this morning, allowing me time to sleep in. He also got the dishwasher on. Love him.16
