Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Got through the chores and lit the stove first thing.
3) Hens ok.
4) Builder (J) came to quote for repointing. He knows why the front windows are leaking. Expensive, so I’ll remove the render myself and leave him the difficult stuff.
5) Made it to the dentist (both rivers flooded in that town!) Teeth fine.
6) Steak for tea.
7) Much excitement this evening. Within an hour or so, we had 5cm of snow. We’re at the top of a big hill so noticed a fire engine stop and put its searchlight things on. Off we went for a walk to find 5 trucks, 12 cars and a motorbike stuck on the hill, with villagers raiding the grit bins with their shovels! It was a very jolly atmosphere and we hadn’t spoken to so many people in months. People in cars were merrily shouting “hello” as they tried to get by.
8) Watched the Last Leg.

For yesterday,
We had sunshine and blue skies for most of the day, really lifts the spirits.
Changed the bed, made the bread dough and while that was having its first prove got out to the farm shop for meat, followed by feed store for girlie’s chaff. Home, second prove and then bread baked, such a good smell in the house on bake days.
Had a general tidy at the yard, filled up her feed bins, swept behind my box, sorted her rugs and fitted her new bit. It’s a Happy Mouth which is plastic coated so no cold steel in her mouth plus tastes of apple apparently, she was sucking at it like a dummy while I was adjusting the fit, cute.
Capt S had blood test results and went in to discuss with docs, some sort of virus apparently, obvious ruled out as no temperature or other symptoms but strange all the same, muscle pain, fatigue and he’s slightly anaemic. More tests to be made. Not a pleasure obviously but the fact he is being so looked after is.
Easy tea of HM pizza and winter slaw followed by a bit of tv watching.14 -

Good morning all, pleasures for yesterday,
Early morning trip to supermarket for fruit. Found everything I wanted, hardly any people around and bonus extra, vegan Bounty for best friend (dairy allergy).
HT's history teacher complimented him on work well done.
The rain finally stopped. The HT had PE scheduled in his timetable so we went out to get some sunshine and some fresh air.
Socially distanced chat with two neighbours. It was a short chat because it was cold and one didn't have her coat on but it was good to see other people.
Online gaming with HT and best friend.
Take care all of you13 -

Pleasures for today
1. More marking ticked off the list
2. A walk around the 'long' block. it's about 2 miles and it was bright blue sky and sunshine after a flurry of snow showers all morning
3. A baking session when i got back - 2 cakes. One was lemon and elderflower (half had some goosegogs from the garden in it) and the other a mixed fruit tea bread that used up some dregs of dried fruit and a getting on a bit fruit tea bag.
4. Making risotto - i love to make risotto, it's so calming. You just can't do anything else but stand and stir. And there's leftovers
5. DD seems a little brighter.
Have a great evening all.I wanna be in the room where it happens14
