5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

After a working weekend which was totally surreal, I am having a day of pleasures.
Sense of achievement from clearing some of the laundry backlog. I can't wait for the weather to settle and temperatures to rise so I can start hanging washing outside again.
Dog met her cocker spaniel friend in the park, so they chased each other around whilst I and her human companions put the world to rights. Not a planned meeting, I hasten to add.
Uplifting choir session as always.
Zoom team meeting, always good for an update and to cheer each other on.
The glow from my Himalayan salt lamp, gives that good old hygge feeling.
My seeds (rocket and cress) have started sprouting. One life - your life - live it!15 -

Hello. In to bed early as I’ve done today as much as I need to! A day off but only a swap as we had an appointment this afternoon. Grateful for NHS as always.Nice long doggy walk before we went out. It was mainly dry managed to go in between the heavy showers.DD2 drove and traffic not too bad. Apart from blooming potholes! Waaah!Had a chat with son last night. He’s alright.Still a bit spooked out by yesterday...but will need to an early walk in the morning again. Shall go a different way.13

Happy birthday, Bala’s brother.
Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Bigger son made a cooked breakfast.
2) Lost 4lbs
3) Left yet another email for smaller son’s solicitor and phoned Green Homes Grant people.
4) Hens ok.
5) Took the old car wheel to the tip.
6) Popped to parents’ and my brother gave me some more firewood.
7) Made 8 portions of chicken casserole for the freezer plus a pizza for sons. I had mushroom and chestnut hotpot.
8) Played darts with bigger son.
Smaller son refusing to go to college or do the tiniest bit of school work again. I don’t know what’s going to happen there as he’s at the end of the road now, school wise.10 -

1) bounced out of bed way before the alarm and got 2 hours writing before my first meeting at 10 (would have been 2.5 hours if someone hadn't noticed i was online at 8:30 and called me via teams. c'est la via)
2) looking out my office window, lovely sunny day. hang on that cat walking along the wall looks familiar. ds had let his kitten (now 9 months) out and forgotten to let him back in!
3) hm soup for lunch. can't beat hm soup imho (this time Persian root and fruit from my fave Fraser's Seasonal Soups)
4) walked up to mum's after work. she'd just made rock buns, how fortunate I arrived to help her out ;-)
5) home, sausage pie and veg for ds, halloumi sticks and veg for dd2, stir fry veg and fish fingers for me.
and now it's 9:30, time to tidy the kitchen and hit the sack.
Oh and my divorce extract came through. so that's that. strangely anti-climatic, and can't even go down the pub to mark the occasion. bah humbugMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

You're all so lovely.
Just explained to my brother who you are and sent him your birthday wishes. He was beaming.
Thank you so much.

Am back to fill in a little more.
He woke up to his flowers and cards and he took a photo. OH gave him a external hard drive, really useful (I think). Lots of chocolate from me, the socks, a small Lindt bar, and some DVD's I bought him ages ago and managed to find.
Zoom call was excellent. He loved the food although hasn't tried the cake yet. He doesn't have my sweet tooth.
I read all your wishes to him and explained what I think I know about you. And your animals...........
Your loveliness added something special to our day. Again, thank you.

Bala pleased you have given your brother such a good day.
1. First day off in my flexible working. It feels good and in these strange work times even better to have extra day off.
2. Visited a friend. It does feel wrong but am her bubble. It was great to catch up and talk to someone.
3. Read my book - really enjoying it.
4. DH home fairly early.
5. New recipe for tea which was ok. It was quick so may keep it in reserve for when I'm short of time.12
